So Octane,,,,, all i can say is a waste of time. Sure they have 3 rooms and a nice view but really now get some real entertainment, and how about a wiping down the place from time to time. I walked in and was there for about an hour, the crowd looked like the crawled out of the meth lab somewhere, the entertainment was a some local band that was in dire need of rehearsal time and a DJ who looked like he was bored to tears and as a result wasn't doing much more then playing the same 10 songs over and over.
The lady bartender was cute and polite but the drinks went all that great and fairly expensive. I left pretty quickly and i don't think ill be going back. It certainly wasn't worth the cover.

Worst night ever! kind of. Â Don't get me wrong, its a great club and definitely the place to be after a "AMA" Â superbike race at Laguna. If you're a hardcore motorcycle race fan like me, then you absolutely have to go. The place is totally cool, great dance floor, stripper poles, cages, different rooms, etc. lots and lots of eye candy. Its a great time.
I even got to meet Tommy Hayden, among others. YAY!! Â For those of you that don't know who he is, he's an AMA superbike champion and brother of MotoGP's champion Nicky Hayden. HUGE fan!
So why only 2 stars? You think i would be in motorcycle heaven, hanging out with all the riders and hot chicks, how could i not have a good time? Â
Well, Â there are two girls that owe me big time for this night, and all because me and my big mouth helped one of them become an umbrella girl. if it wasn't for that, we would of never found out about this place and we would of never went. Â your welcome :)
It had  been a long ass day with the races and we had already been to the VIP dinner and partied with some of the riders and their families. very cool but it was now after 11pm on a Sunday night, we were all a little drunk, and i still had a 2 hour drive back to the peninsula, and had to get up at 7am.  so i was beat and wanted to bail soon.
My friends wanted to go to the club and at least check it out, they said just for an hour and we'll go. promise! Â uh huh. sure. Ive heard that one before, but how could i resist. all the riders would be there, celebs maybe? so cool and off we went. well we had to find the car first, oops. Â you ever been at Laguna after its closed? Â its pitch frickin black out. i couldn't see shit. we met up with a couple guys that had their rental car close by so they gave us a ride to help us find our car. as we got into the dirt parking area, 5 semi drunk people crammed in a Dodge rental car decided it would be fun to do donuts in total darkness.
around and around and around we go, Â where we stop.....is that a cliff!!! Â i think I'm gonna throw up now. Â please stop!
fun, but it kinda pissed me off. stuck in the back seat of a car with complete strangers who were kinda drunk? Â not a smart move.
so we manage to survive that, find the car and were off!
once we got to the club the girls immediately disappeared into the crowd and left me hangin. WTF? whatever, so i went and grabbed a beer. after checking things out for a bit and talking with some drunk chick, i finally found one of them dancing and grinding on some guy. ok, whatever, but seriously i was burnt and wanted to go, i was so damn tired, and i was the one that had to stay sober and drive everyone home. someone had to be responsible, right? Â UGH!
Anyway, the girls kept dancing and drinking, and then i couldn't find them at all for awhile. they totally blew me off! Â :( so you can imagine at this point i had enough. I tried to enjoy myself but i was just exhausted. Â i finally gave up found a seat had a soda and chilled. when the club closed and they pushed everyone out, oh there you are, and we finally left. Â I still cant believe i waited till 3am to give their drunk asses a ride home. Â especially after ignoring me for 4 hours. Â that was messed up! seriously! Â you girls owe me for that one!!
what a crazy night!
Well, i got a little surprise the other day, and my friend Jenny, (she's so cool), is taking me this year to the race and the club. HELL YEAH!!! Â She has family in Monterey and we'll be staying the night, so this time i wont have to worry about driving or anything. YAY! i should be able to enjoy myself at the club and party party party. Â its my turn, I cant wait!!!
Maybe then I'll come back an update this to a 5 star review!
My experience here is a tad biased, but what the hell, I'll write it anyways.
Backstory: I'm a HUGE motorcycle fan. If you ride a sport bike, I'll love you forever until you get rid of it. I went to MotoGP and lost my voice (go Nicky!), and went to AMA Superbike Championships at Laguna Seca INTENDING to be my friend's personal Umbrella Girl. Sexy outfits, holding an umbrella next to people I read about in race magazines...how the hell could I say no? Turns out my "friend" lied about the whole thing, he wasn't racing. I went around asking crews if they knew or heard of him--nothin. So my friend Dave mentions to John Haner's crew that I was supposed to be this guy's Umbrella Girl.
Crew: We need an Umbrella Girl
Me: Seriously?
Crew: Yeah. Come back at so-and-so time.
So I did. And held that broken umbrella. It was, to say the least, kicking my hormones into high gear. Yummy.
We got invited to the afterparty at Octane, where they rented out the club to give away free shit and make everything seem more..."VIP". It did. $10 to get in and I was walking around trying to find a fucking place to get a drink. I bump into some random-ass guy and we start hitting the dance floor like white on rice.
Here's how the rest of the four hours went:
Cages, floor, cages, stripper pole, sit for a sip of water, cages, floor, raised platforms, making sweet, sweet eye contact with a bar back and getting a free water, cages, rubbing up against super hawt girls and guys, lights turn on and suddenly I'm being felt up by naked strippers in the cages.
I want to give this place one star only because I met my ex here, and that makes me an angry panda, but I just had way too much fun.
You want to get down and durrty without all the crappy dj-ed music out there? Go to Octane when GP or Superbike is in town. Best, time, EVER!
PS: I danced for 4 straight hours and didn't leave until 3am. Arrived in SF at 5am, slept for an hour, went to work. FUN!
