Coach's Sports Bar & Grill

This type of bar is definitely needed in downtown Haverhill, unfortunately Coach's falls short of my expectations. The food is nearly inedible, thickly coated in beer batter. The bartenders are only women dressed in very skimpy outfits like Hooters -definitely not appropriate for families. The owners are rude and unprofessional. The police seem to be called there regularly. To top it all off It's full of older creepy men! Ugh, have it a few chances but never again!!

I went to Coachs on my birthday with my wife and son. I was looking forward to a special night. First, the menus were dirty, tables were sticky and dirty. The rest of the evening went down hill from there.. well, except for a false tone of friendly bravado, we were completely ignored by our waitress. The same applied at their bar. The Bartender was rude clearly drunk or high and overwhelmed. She was slow to take our drink orders and acted confused kept laughing at nothing. So finally after 30 mins later the waitress shows up smelling like an ashtray awful- awful There was an odor of marijuana or cigarette breath. The waitress became very angry with my wife when she found out we had ordered drinks at the bar because she took too long.  The most important point I would like to make about Coach's Sports Bar and Grill in Haverhill is about the gentleman I believe is the manager or owner of this establishment . Yes, their service is awful and Yes their food is tasteless and beers were served warm, but from the short time I was there I saw the manager/Owner make improper sexual  gestures toward the much younger Bartender I am not sure if this was part of playful customer service or because they were both drunk? I believe she felt violated. This bothered my wife and I such behaviour should not be tolerated. litigation is imminent!

I am not sure about all of these negative reviews, because I have been at least 5 times and have always had good food and service.  This place, in my opinion is much needed in Haverhill.  Cheap beer and great  pub style, inexpensive food.  I have usually gone before it gets busy and sat at the bar.  The pizza is excellent and the burgers are the best around. I had the portabello and bleu cheese burger that was excellent.  I brought my kids once and we had the buffalo pizza, that was large and tasty.  I also went this Friday night and had the fish and chips, the fish was fresh and the portion was huge,  and for $6 how can you go wrong?  I  have always had friendly and fast service.  Where can you get a pitcher for Sam Summer for $8?  We had three meals, 2 pitchers of beer, all for $41.00
