An amazing beer bar in my hometown, a town where most of the population are in bed by nine. Hell, yes! Â Makes my return trips home that much more awesome.
Cock and Bull has the feeling of a rustic, neighborhood bar with friendly bar staff, friendly locals, and a fire pit out back to gather around and get friendly-er. Â They have a world class beer selection for a town that seems to have forgotten what a craft beer is. Â There is even freshly brewed root beer for the kiddies and for my husband who doesn't drink the hard stuff. Â
They have several rooms to hang out in and a pool table if you are in for a bit of friendly competition with your delicious brew. Â My favorite part is the huge back yard with the fire pit that I previously mentioned. Â There are picnic tables to munch on your pizza and watch people play corn hole out in the fresh air. Â
Cock and Bull is one of those bars that I really wish I could pick up and take back with me to Providence, RI. Â It has a fantastic beer selection, friendly and helpful staff, and an awesome set up. Â I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the Srq.
Finally got around to review the cock and bull. What a great beer selection! Awesome live music the Sunday night that I was there. Younger crowd than I am used to but good vibes all around.
Wouldn't suggest the pizza, lousy crust and the sauce was nondescript, but I was there for the beer! I had lots of fun as always and will be back.
Only gripes are the hours, that pizza and it's a little pricey but all of that is offset tremendously by atmosphere, service and selection.
So...you're here for beer, right?
Good, then. Â You're in GREAT shape.
This spot has the robust bottle selection you need, the wide and rotating tap selection you want, and the option for beer flights you crave. Â Better yet, the staff is knowledgable, personable, and available to help you with selections as you wade into the proverbial talent pool. Â
The space itself is commodious and varied - there is a large central beer bar up front, a few offshoot rooms from there, a middle deck/bar area, and an open-air biergarten out back - altogether, this place can comfortably accommodate a couple hundred people and yet doesn't feel empty if you and some buddies drop in and make a part of the place your spot for the night. There's a kitchen if you need to establish a base, and pool, darts, and foosball if you want other distractions.
I researched where to go for a great beer selection before I landed in Sarasota, and this place was the top of the list. After hitting the Cock & Bull first, the second-tier spots paled in comparison. Â If you can only drink in one Sarasota bar for a great beer experience, drink here or regret it later.
Highly recommended.
