This Geckos is right across from the hospital I work at so a colleague of mine and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat on our break.  We had been working for 7 hours without a break and we were starving.  I ordered the boom boom shrimp and a side of mashed potatoes and she ordered the boom boom chicken tacos.  Our food arrived.  The tacos were dry with no sauce.  They looked like dry chicken nuggets with lettuce and cheese with no sauce.  The tortillas were cold and looked like they were right out of the package. However, the side of sweet potato fries were excellent.  My shrimp was good but my potatoes were cold and very dry.  I asked for some butter and they brought me back some frozen butter packets. I explained that the potatoes were cold and I was hoping some butter would fix them but both were too cold.  The waitress brought me some melted butter but they just couldn't be jazzed up.  I am sure she noticed I didn't eat them.  When we asked why there was no sauce on the chicken we were told the chicken soaks up the sauce but there was no evidence of any sauce ever being present on the taco.  My colleague was so hungry she just ate the taco stuffing dry and left the cold flour tortillas untouched.  We both agreed be would have been better eating at the hospital Café.  I used to love Geckos and have been disappointed the past few times I have eaten there so I felt compelled to write a yelp review this time.
Review Source:I visited my parents this past weekend and after a day at the beach we were all craving wings. My dad is a wing enthusiast and says that Gecko's is one of his favorites. He typically orders the hottest wings available, but said that Gecko's is pretty hot so he order his wings medium and dips them in the hot sauce. I ordered the mild wings and they had a kick to them, but didn't make me sweat (which is just how I like them!).
I was also impressed by their beer menu. Overall had a good experience.
