Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Unfortunately, the steak here is just not good! Especially for the price. Publix steaks taste better. The seafood is great though.

Also, the last time we went here (a table of 10, all who were above 21, and most of whom were over 50 years old), the waiter insisted that each person drinking alcohol could not have more than one drink in front of them, because it was "Spring Break" and they could get in trouble. Having to decide whether or not to quickly slurp down an expensive before dinner cocktail in order to have red wine poured so it can breathe in time to eat with steak entrees isn't fun at a fine dining restaurant. Or at any restaurant. It was so weird! It's the first time I've ever heard of such a thing happening to anyone. The waiter was adamant to the point of being rude.

My wife and I had a wonderful evening there when we first came to Sarasota on March 1. It was a slow night and the service was first class. Food was a B.

Flemings.  How I love you!  I have gone to your locations all over the country and your consistency never fails to amaze me!

You consistently have great servers who take care of me (in this case it was one of the bartenders whose name I have forgotten but he was great!), and your food is always perfectly done!

If you've been to one Flemings- you've pretty much been to them all as the decor and layout does not change too much between locations, but that's fine as you always know what to expect.  On this occasion, I sat at the bar and who knew but it was happy hour so the place was packed!

I just wanted some crab and some fresh tomatoes sliced and even though the tomatoes were not on the menu, they had no problem accomodating my request and soon I was elbow deep in crab (perfectly steamed and meaty).

The bar was filled with locals grabbing up the happy hour deals and when I left, the cars were lining up with people to get in.

People always comment on how "expensive" Flemings is.  I like to think that you get what you pay for and I can always count on Flemings for high quality food, perfectly prepared and served by some really great servers.

If you drive- there is complementary valet parking (you just tip what you see fit) which is a nice touch.  Watch the signs that you cannot park at the post office next door or you will get towed.

Always happy when there is a Flemings in the town I am in.  For I know I am in for the perfect dining experience.  I just always wonder how they pull it off so consistently???
