Coda

Coda is a bar/restaurant in the Savery Renaissance in Downtown Des Moines, and apparently is one of the few restaurant options available in the evening in Downtown.  When the hubby and I visited on a Friday evening, it was dead, dead, dead. When we wandered in, there were zero other customers. Zero.

The interior is modern casual and is set up like a great big living room with a bar. I'd guess most of the seating options wouldn't be good for people with limited mobility, but we were very comfortable.

Our service was fast and friendly. We had a couple of their specialty cocktails, and while they were pretty tasty, they were pretty light on the alcohol for the price. The food menu is fairly limited, but the food was pretty good. I started off with the corn chowder and it was chock full of corn and was very flavorful. For our entrees, the hubby had a hamburger and I had the turkey club. His burger was probably much better than my turkey club, but we both had huge piles of really good sweet potato fries with our entrees. Food prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for hotel food.

Excellent food. Great option for a quick late dinner.
