I do not have extra fancy expectations, just a good burger is what I want, and I always get it here -- great fries too. Â Have tried and really enjoyed the fish and chips, and clam chowder, but in all honesty, hard to sway me from the burger and fries. Â It is a little dark inside, but weather permitting, a nice porch out back and the staff is always very friendly.
Review Source:I can't believe I never reviewed this place. I was sitting in here with my Ipad, I could have been doing it.
DH stopped in here a few weeks back on the way back from Salem and watching our band play.. Left Coast Country. That was a fun trip. So yes found this place on Yelp no less.
When we arrived in here, it was clear we were not regulars or even from the area. Very little people were in here and almost no one at the bar. They poured nice size drinks and the beer I guess was good, I'll take DH word for it.
Nice little place and if I was in the area again, I would definitely go again. Nice "divy" feel. No food was ordered, but then again I rarely go into these kind of places to eat.
Been going here for years. I have a had a ton of things on the menu and I have been pleased with everything I had tried. Its a bar, but does have a restaurant section for kids during the day. There is a nice patio and pool room. French dip is my favorite, I always order it. The burgers are great, and so are the specials. Prime rib dip shows up every once in a while which is awesome, seafood specials on weekend. Service has always been good to me, and there are a ton of regulars that come here. Its a good place in between Salem and Portland.
Review Source:Wow you all must never leave town because we have been going to the colony pub for 15 years, Â and the food still tastes 15 years old. The burgers are like the bottom of a shoe. Don't waste your money on the food. Please. I don't understand why it's always like rubber. How hard can it be? I asked for a dirty martini one time and the guy had no clue what li was talking about, he laughed and thought I was coming on to him
We try this place four times at year hoping they change, but they don't. Â If the owner is reading this hopefully she will listen. Throw away the menu, hire a real chef that knows how to cook, Â not just use a fryer. aurora has changed, she needs to change also. My neighbors and i all go to Portland to eat but would rather stay in town. Use local food and have nightly specials. Check out the sandwiches menu at the Bunk bar in Portland.
My ex-office mate wanted to take me to the Horseshoe B&G in Mulino today, but a fatal car crash had the road blocked on both ends of this small community. We backtracked and tried the Colony Pub. This is a charming small town tavern right out of the 1950's. What a treat! A phone call redirected another friend to meet us there. We all had Burgers. I chose Bleu Cheese and it was very good. Our sever, Cindy, did a first rate job and kept the craft Ales flowing. It was evident that most of the lunch bunch were locals who knew each other. CP has a very relaxed atmosphere, good food and provided us all with a good time.
Review Source:First off, tonight is TACO TUESDAY...and for the locals???? what better way to spend one of the most boring days of the week.
Whenever I meet some friends in this cozy little dive, we tend to ALWAYS be the youngest ones there by about 15+ years :) Â That being said, we all have our favorite friendly old drunks at the pub that make their rounds, waving, smiling and doling out hugs to any takers :)
There is one ample pool table that we tend to monopolize each time we come to play, but in all reality everyone here is pretty good at sharing...so you'll get your turn.
Mikey is my favorite behind the bar :) Â Makes the best drinks in my opinion. Â But the other gals come in close.
So all in all, this place has a cute/decent little outdoor patio with umbrellas, a jukebox, a few tv screens with games playing, a back room with plenty of gambling games, a pool table, a few dark cozy booths, and as I said before....the locals. Â If you're looking for an authentically lazy Aurora night, this is your place :)
P.S. Â I have been to a few of their live music, and holiday events. Â There is usually quite a surprising turn out for that little bar :) Â Lots of fun!
It's a fairly divey bar with the typical backroom slottery machines and lotsa cheap beer and its dark and chilly inside, perfect for growing mushrooms. Here is the kicker though, they have pretty good food menu. Their fish 'n chips are actually some of the best I've had. Burgers 'n fries are outstanding. Pretty much anything on the menu is good. Service is a bit sketchy depending on who the server is. They also have a good number of little TV's with some sort of game going on.
Cheers
