My fiance and I stopped in here the other day on the way down to Philly for some lunch, and we were both pleased.
Probably the first noticeable thing about Continental Tavern is the very traditional, classical style to the dining area. This place has clearly been around for a long time, and they definitely want you to know it (either that or they just decorated to make it seem that way lol).
We were seated promptly, and in no time had our order in, so thumbs up for service. I ordered the Continental burger cooked medium, while my fiance got the veggie burger. Both burgers were definitely on point. Mine was thick, juicy, and cooked right. The mushrooms, onions, and swiss cheese topped it off perfectly. But the best part of the whole thing had to be the brioche bun! This thing was sweet and fluffy, while still being sturdy enough that it never fell apart like so many other buns tend to do. Accompanied with some sweet potato fries, and its hard to complain about a lunch like this! Oh, and my fiance really enjoyed her burger as well, though her favorite item was definitely the ConTav fries served with Old Bay seasoning and cheese dip!
My only complaint that keeps this from getting 5 stars is in the middle of sitting there, the fire alarm started blaring, and for 1 second my heart stopped beating lol. Apparently there was some kind of testing going on and that had been happening all day. Hard to blame them for this, but at lease a warning before being seated that this may happen would have been nice...
Moving to Yardley in a month and decided to explore the restaurants a bit. Absolutely loved the food here. I didn't get anything special, just a burger with sweet potato fries but the burger was cooked to my medium rare perfection and the fries were great. Everything is very reasonably priced too. Will be back for sure.
