Huuby and I have eaten here a few times. I personally don't see the big deal about their "balls". LOL! We tried them on our first visit and I remember telling my husband, "Did our server say people drive from all over the Mid-West for these?" They are just ok, IMO. We've tried something new every time and have yet to be disappointed. Since our children can't go with us we will eventually try to do take out from here.

5/19/12: Initial service was very slow. After being seated it took the waiter more than give minutes to take our drink order then an additional eight or so minutes to receive them. I purchased a http://restaurant.com coupon knowing that dinner for four would be pricey. We alerted our waiter of said coupon only to be told we were required to present a printed copy...total opposite of restaurant.com's website - the coupon was refused and we were told we would have to use it on a future purchase. Quite frustrating to say the least and I will not be back, nor will I recommend this establishment to anyone.

Unlike some others, I was pretty satisfied with my two experiences at Cook McDoogal's. I was taken there for a business lunch while visiting Kokomo on business. I ordered the beef sandwich and the potato balls - the lunch was absolutely delicious. In fact, it was good enough that I decided to go back for dinner on my own. Unfortunately, my evening experience wasn't quite as good but still ok. My biggest issue was with the dinner menu. It really lacks variety, even for an Irish place. I ended up having corned beef, cabbage, and mashed potatoes. The dinner was good, not great. The other factor that took away from the dinner was the fact that Otis The Drunk was sitting next to me at the bar. It seemed that everyone knew the guy (bartender included). Somehow, nobody minded the fact that he was literally sleeping on his stool. Another rather hilarious thing happened while I was eating there (at the bar.) Behind the bar, they have a small seating area with barrel chairs and a barrel table. A 300lb+ gentleman made the poor choice of sitting in one of these chairs and out of nowhere, the legs exploded on him. Not only did the chair legs crash, he took the table down with him. It made a HUGE racket but was such a funny picture - I had to laugh. The good natured patron was asked if he was ok, his response: "Heck no, I spilled my beer!"
