The Corner Pub and Grill has always been good.  BUT...they recently updated their menu and dining room.  It is GREAT!  They have added more booths to the dining room.  I am one of those annoying patrons who always wants a both.  I was very excited to see this!  The additions to the menu are even more excited.  If you have ever been to this restaurant on a day they are using their smoker, you know the smell is intoxicating.  Well, now they have added their smoked pulled pork to the menu!  It was previously only available as a special.  Order ANYTHING with the pulled pork.. The options are pulled pork nachos, sandwich and the Porky's Delight, which is a burger topped with pulled pork and an onion ring.  I highly recommend it!

Solid food for a bar and grill! The Bayou Birdie and Peppercorn Burger were pretty tasty along with some good onion rings.

With only a glance inspection when this restaurant first showed up, I had assumed it'd be a cool, new spot out in chain-ridden West County.  Unfortunately, it's just that - a chain not too far off base from an Applebee's, TGIFriday's, etc.  The service and food were to be as expecting - just fine.  Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either.  I can't say that I'll ever make it back, but I'm sure it'll be a nice spot for a "safe" bet for the area.

I met my college chum for dinner. The dining room was fairly empty, and there was one server for the whole area.

We both opted for a "take two" meal: she got the loaded potato soup (cup) and a small Caesar salad. I got the small house salad (bleu cheese dressing) and the cold roast beef sandwich with lettuce and tomato, and a pickle spear.

Her soup looked great. Both salads were A-OK, but pretty small (maybe that's because of the take two). And mine was served on the same plate as the sandwich -- something of which I am not fond.

Had there been less roast beef on my sandwich, it would have been a bread sandwich. It tasted good, but there just wasn't enough meat on it for my taste.

I kinda think we didn't get the most exciting food on the menu.

And I don't understand how the Corner Sliders are $7.99 in the appetizer section and $8.99 in the burger section when they're described exactly the same: 3 "Black Angus" mini burgers seared with grilled onions and cheddar cheese.

    The pickle spear was divine!!

Incompetent service.  I understand the restaurant's policy of not taking reservations (I frequent the Valley Park (or what they call "Kirkwood" location frequently)).  My family is taking my 87 year old grandfather who is in a nursing home near the ellisville location to dinner; I called the ellisville location to see if they could make an exception for 10 people with an 87 year old man and received the short, "sorry but no."  The hostess refused to allow a call ahead to put the name on the list as we were driving to pick up my grandfather.

The Corner Pub is this awesome sports bar in West County that's got a huge popularity at both of their locations.

The food is great, you can always find something on the menu to suit your tastes.  The beer is cold.  The ambiance is electric because there's always some kind of game on.

If you're a Mizzou fan, this is your place.

Be careful about this particular location, however, esp if its a rainy Friday night and HS football gets cancelled, the place will be crowded with those parents and teenagers trying to fill their time.

I can't say that I like one location over the other but I can say they both are quite fun!

I go here for casual meals, whether it's with my husband or the extended family. TVs are all over, so it's way too distracting for a date or a serious convo, but the menu is great. Limited on the vegetarian options, but I recommend the Caesar salad!

    Another blind date. Another restaurant.

First of all, this place is in the middle of nowhere... at least, to me, it is. I was starting to think I was lost, I drove down Clayton Road for days and then it popped out of nowhere, literally hidden in the corner of a strip mall.

I walked in and the place was very streamlined and modern feeling. The bar had some kitchy things decorating the walls:  ceilings lined with license plates, typical Friday's paraphenelia. Why do restaurants feel oblidged to put so much random shit on the walls? Do people really have so little to discuss, that we need to stare at garbage on the walls? I don't get it, and I don't know if I hate it or love it. (the curse of a libra)

Anyway, the server was nice, as was the hostess. I ordered a BLT burger. Pretty self-explanatory. HOWEVER, medium rare... I guess is a difficult feat to master because no one can ever get it right. My burger came out medium well and I was sad but really tired and hungry so I just slathered on extra mayo. Luckily they over compensated with at least a  pound of waffle fries... which always makes me happy. I slathered some mayo-mustard-ketchup secret sauce all over them and was a happy girl.

Schafly beer on tap makes me happy as well
    Prices were great
    Service was top notch
Food wasn't that exciting.... burger didn't have much flavor. :(

Meh. Nothing was exciting expcept for the lunatic who I let pick up the tab. Turned out, he was still married. Fail.

Until the next blind date.... (Friday :)

I didn't realize this place was here ... maybe because since Straub's closed I don't have a reason to get into this plaza, but from someone else's suggestion I went the other night.  The purpose was just to meet and talk and for that it was a great place to visit.  The only thing eaten that night were a cobb salad and a ceaser salad and an order of potato skins, all excellent food.  While I did spend the evening on the patio, I did have a chance to look around the inside and there is plenty of seating with some bar tables and a dining area.  Worth a visit, especially if you live in the Chesterfield area.

Second visit. Both times have been very happy with the food. The service is pretty good too. One member of our party had food that wasn't prepared to their satisfaction. The management was very responsive and quickly brought a new burger (first one was overcooked). Comp'd it off the bill and gave us a gift card for our next visit. Very pleased with the response. Second burger was perfect. Will be back and definitely recommend the Corner Pub & Grill.

I have been waiting to try the Corner Pub and Grill for a while now as it sits precariously close to my gym.  See my review of Life Time Fitness.  I got my chance this weekend when neither my wife or I really wanted to cook anything for dinner.

The owners did a pretty good job of laying out and decorating the establishment.  When you arrive you have the option of turning left into the bar or making a right to the hostess stand.  On Friday at 5:30 we had a 20 minute wait for a table.  I did check out the bar and found it clean, trendy, well lit and had several televisions playing the NCAA March Madness games.  A large sign to the left of the bar announces the many beers the pub has on draught.  I must say that while there are some good beers on the menu (Newcastle, Blue Moon, Ranger IPA), a good third of the menu is devoted to AB products (Bud Light, Bud Light Lime, Bud Select, Budweiser, Bud Light Wheat).  Several items on the menu suggest you pair a AB product with the food.

We were seated in a room behind the bar.  I would say because we brought children that we were stuck in the family room.  Sure there were some tables without kids, but they were larger tables.  Our waitress was all business making sure we had drinks and what we needed.  We tried an order of the fried pepper jack cheese cubes.  Very tasty.  The appetizer had more than enough cheese cubes for the two of us.  I ordered the Gouda burger which came with roasted red peppers and fried onions on top.  I dont know that either the pepper or onions added much flavor to the burger.  Perhaps if the peppers were warmed prior to being plucked from the can or jar it might have improved the burger.  My wife ordered the cheese pizza which looked like a home made version of a Boboli pizza crust you can buy at the store.

I am sure I will come back to the Corner Pub and Grill in the near future; however, I think it will be more of a Pub to me than a Grill.

P.S. This location is no longer serving breakfast on the weekend due to restrictions in their lease.

My boyfriend and I swung by here the other day to check it out, as we noticed it had just opened. I'm glad we did, because my slightlymissing ChicagoforGooseslandandmyfriends-self was able to order a 312!!! This was a pleasant surprise to be able to enjoy one of my favorite, easy-to-drink, perfect nice weather brews! They also had other nice beer offerings, which, if you know me or read my reviews - is definitely top on my list.

Their food also didn't disappoint - we both ordered burgers (typical) - I got the Ariba, and while I'm pretty sure I didn't get Chipotle Mayo - it was pretty good, and the sides you get to choose are exciting. Waffle fries, onion rings, homemade chips, oh my! Oh, and veggies, but who orders the veggie side when you're drinking a beer and enjoying a slab of grilled meat? Not this girl. We also ordered the fried pickle spears, which were pleasantly delicious and not soggy and gross like they turn out so many places.

Inside was pretty huge, and very simple - and outside they had a nice looking patio, which I'm super excited to check out soon. I'll be back - for my dose of Goose Island =).
