Corner Pub is alright. Falls somewhere between Dublin and D'arcy's. Same kind of atmosphere, same kind of menu. Corner Pub gets points for originality. Horseshoe pizza? So weird, but actually pretty good! Sometimes the fries on the pizza are totally inedible from being burnt, but it still works. Fries are not my favorite. Every time I've gone it's just a plate of broken bagglers. I don't know if it's just bad luck or how their fries actually are.

    Always order cheese sauce. Always.

Service hasn't been memorable, but I guess that's better than being bad. Beer offerings are pretty standard with a couple of good specialties. Bloody Mary is SPICY. But good!

Final Judgement: good place to grab a light lunch/dinner and some drinks. Not too noisy, so you can have a good conversation if need be.

It's a nice alternative from a lot of the other pubs that have been around longer. The atmosphere is great, love the decor.

The food is above average pub fare; nothing in this town is what I consider "great," but this is about as good as it gets here. I've yet to try their original "pizza horseshoe," but I'd be lying if it didn't catch my eye every time I'm in there.

The atmosphere is very nice, good decor and friendly wait-staff for the most part. I've caught a few of the girls on what I assume is an "off day," but hey no one's perfect.

Beer selection is pretty good for the area. I like all the Schlafly offerings you really don't see in any other pub. As per usual, the tap selection is minimal. I've never understood why so many Irish pubs stick with just the basic Irish selections-surely it can't sell well.

Overall - a nice place to get a burger and have a few beers. Even their soups are surprisingly good. Recommended.

Meh. I can take it or leave it. Average bar food. Average service.

My fiance and her family brought me in here to have what the locals call a "Horseshoe"

I however was told to order a "Pony Shoe" and that "That amount of food will be good enough"

"So what is this I'm going to eat??" I ask everyone

"Oh well, you pick your meat, your cheese, your bread, your fries, if you want bacon......" They just keep going on

"Hold on here, what EXACTLY am I eating" I finally say to my finance

"About the second leading cause of death in America" she responds

"Yeah you might not wanna check your blood pressure or cholesterol for about a week" says my sister in laws husband.

"Oh" I say with a nervous twitch

Anyway 10 minutes later this thing, this massive fry covered cheese thing arrives in front of me served complete with a side of ranch, because everything else wasn't enough already.

I'll put it this way The Pony Shoe was good, almost too good, dripping cheeses, crunchy bread, tangy buffalo chicken and plenty of beer to wash it down with.

Until later in the evening when I had a SEVERELY upset stomach and brought it to my fiances attention.

"Oh it's just all part of the experience babe" she says cheerfully, yet seriously.

    "Oh" I say.

Not something I could have on a regular basis, but at least once a year.

I stopped in for lunch after apartment hunting nearby.  I thought I should try the local favorite so I had the Pony Shoe with hamburger.  It was really tasty.  Unhealthy, but tasty.  The service was really friendly, there were plenty of beer choices, and lots of flat screens with sports on.  I'm sure I'll be back.
