Our son and his wife had their wedding reception, with about 75 guests, at Dance Unlimited in Vallejo on Georgia Street in the Downtown Heritage District on a Saturday evening. There were 3 events going on in the building at the same time. Everyone had a great time.
Management had their hands full, as one might expect with so many things going on, but they handled minor problems with a smile, courtesy and respect in the sprit of cooperation. Personally I appreciated their help and kindness. Thank you.
The location offered plenty of close parking, easy access and a well prepared facility. The venue was very nice. Actually the whole place much more interesting inside then expected.
Would we do it again? You bet. The price was right and the location great.
In addition to the other reviews (I have two left feet and haven't taken a dance class from here) However, I have planned an event here and that was a good experience. Â There are three different ballrooms that are available. Â The contract, deposit/rates were reasonable and planned well in advance with no problems. Â I've attended another event here as well and my only complaint is parking =/ Â There is no shared access with the appliance stores parking lot so loading and unloading and guest parking can be difficult on this part of Georgia St. near Sonoma. Â Otherwise, gorgeous building and great for classes and events too!
Review Source:This is a fantastic dance studio!
I started taking classes here after divorcing a non-dancing man. I hadn't danced in decades and was very nervous when I first arrived. Natasha, the owner and ex-professional dancer, made me feel welcome and wanted.
I had two seriously left feet, and in about 3 months of weekly Ballroom & Latin classes that's turned around to where I'm capable, confident, and excited about going dancing. Natasha is a wonderful dance instructor.
The Friday night dance parties begin with instruction from 8-9pm then open dancing until 11pm. Last night the lessons were on Cha-Cha and Tango, the styles rotate weekly.
Sunday afternoons from 2-3pm is Ballroom lessons (Fox Trot, Swing, etc.) followed by 3-4pm Latin lessons (Salsa, Cha-Cha, Tango, etc.). I'm finding I like the Latin dances best, but am learning them all....slowly.
Every 2nd Sunday of the month is a Milonga---an Argentine Tango dance party---from 5-9pm. It's lead by Michael Tailant, an accomplished professional dancer from Argentina, and many in the Bay Area Tango community attend his MIlongas. Again, it starts with one hour of instruction, followed by open dancing. I went to my first Milonga a few weeks ago, and had a blast. Michael is also a wonderful instructor. There's a Practicia held every other Thursday for those wanting to work on their Argentine Tango moves.
This is a huge building with three studios, one per floor, all with beautiful new hardwood floors and great lighting. It is a FANTASTIC dance studio. Oh, and they offer Hip-Hop, Ballet, and other classes, too.
Hope to see you on the dance floor soon!
