We went there for Sunday brunch buffet. Â It was one of the best buffets I have ever been to. Â There was a huge variety of breakfast food, they had three stations, one for omelettes, one for crepes and another for eggs benedict. Â A lot of fruit, pastries, and sides. The eggs benedict and crepes were awesome, and my husband and brother really enjoyed their omelettes. Â I was in heaven!! Â Will definitely go there again in the future.
Review Source:I mean, it's okay. Â But it's not great.
That's pretty much how I can summarize the whole experience. Â The locally produced beers are okay, but not great. Â The Leisure Beer might as well be Miller Lite, as they both lack any real flavor and taste like water. Â The Mai Bock was better, but still not that great. Â
My wife got a pizza, and while it was actually pretty good, the crust was not cooked all the way through. Very doughy in the center. Â My jumbalaya-ish stew dinner tasted like "OMG WE PUT TOMATO PASTE IN THIS DISH!"
The service was good. Â The cost was a bit high. Â So I guess I can summarize it best when I say it's okay, but it's not great.
Not bad, not bad. Â I especially like their Sunday brunch, as they make the BEST eggs benedict right in front of you. Â Their crepes are also fresh and made to order. Â We initially began coming here several years ago when my children were very young, as they have many selections that are palatable for young children. Â Since then, it has grown on me and I like the atmosphere as well. Â I'm not a beer drinker, but we often meet a group of friends here for dinner so that the beef aficionados can enjoy multiple mini samplings. Â We've also attended private parties here (both of which occurred in a room in their basement), and they also do a nice job with this. Â The nice thing about the banquet in the basement is you get your own private entrance, separate from the main restaurant entrance. Â Sport fanatics would most likely enjoy this venue as well, as it has copious televisions surrounding the bar area. Â All in all, this is a fun atmosphere that is palatable for many different taste buds.
Review Source:I came here with some friends on a Friday night. We started with some of their home crafted beers. The Hefe Weizen was delicious topped with an orange slice.
For an appetizer, we had there wings. The sauces were flavorful but the wings were not the best I've had. I'd recommend going elsewhere for wings.
For the main course, I ordered the fish fry and a cup of the seafood chowder. The chowder was good and had a twist using bits of seafood such as fish, shrimp, and clam. Personally though I prefer the traditional clam chowder. The fish fry was very good but the portions were insanely huge. It came with 6 giant pieces and one tiny cup of tarter sauce. I barely finish half of the portion.
The service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was the typical brewhouse ambiance. March Madness was going on so after dinner, we all chilled at the bar area and watched the games.
The Delafield Brewhaus is a pretty cool place. Â I've been here a bunch of times, but finally getting around to reviewing. Â It's so close to my house and I always forget about it, but after recently visiting, I can be sure I'll be back more often as everything else nearby is chain restaurants.
They have a wide variety of food on the menu - lots of typical soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza and appetizers, but also many which sound unique: Muffaletta pizza, Bavarian Zwiebel soup, and a Battered Walleye filet.
I always opt for the great appetizer that is the Asiago Artichoke dip. Â It's creamy and smooth and comes served with warm, toasty, sliced bread. Â I saw that they now that you can also make the dip cajun spiced or with jalapenos. Â I went straight-up this time, but I think I'll try one of the variations next time.
They brew their own beer and have a pretty good selection on hand. Â My husband had the Hopfenstange Pilsner and really liked it. Â They also sell growlers at the Brewhaus - so if you find a favorite, you can take it home with you!
I had some of their home made root beer and thought it was great too - sweet and spicy.
There is a bar area and dining seating on either side of the big tanks in the middle of the room.
There is some upstairs seating as well - looking out over the tanks. Â The entire place is decorated with beer signs and paraphernalia. Â It's a casual environment and good for friends, family and even groups. Â
The location is just south of Hwy 94 near the Delafield Hwy 83 exit. Â You will need to exit at Hwy 83, or the exit just east of that and drive a ways along the frontage road (and past the movie theater on the west side) to get to there.
I really love this place. It has an in house brewery and shows you the workings of making beer. They make 7-8 beers which are on tap at the bar which is fantastic! Â
The food is great. Friday fish fry is fresh and the pizza is fire roasted. I suggest the cheese curds, a fine Wisconsin treat.
They treated my large party well, we got the corner "barrel" room and it was great to have a semi-private room without paying for it.
First time there, went for brunch.
Have read many of the reviews and was somewhat scepticle. I should not have been
My wife and I had an excellent buffet brunch.
The food was fresh, well cooked and not "old" sitting in the serving bowls.
A great selection to choose from, fresh omlets and benidict's. My wife's crepe was exceptional!!
Our wait staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
As we were leaving the 12:30 crowd were decending upon the restaurant
We stopped here on the way back from a Badger's game to have dinner and some brews. Â We were told they have good pizza so we ordered one with some of their own beers they make there. Â
The beer they brew is delicious, I had the Pomegranate Ale and the 8 Malt Stout. Â The pizza didn't deliver. Â It was a softer doughy crust and wasn't crispy. Â The artichoke dip we had before the pizza was amazing and would highly suggest that over the pizza. Â
Decent but not the best. Â I will get growlers to go from them but just not food.
We were at Delafield Brewhaus on a Saturday night --- busy, but we were seated immediately. Â Extensive menu, lots of options, maybe too many. Â Beer was tasty, food arrived quickly, presentation was good. Â I ordered a wood-fired pizza that was delicious, someone else ordered the sausage dish that looked great. Â Really loud, but that was okay because I really didn't want to have any in-depth conversation. Â Good energy in that place. Â I will go back soon.
Review Source:We stopped into Delafield Brewhaus for a few beers last Friday, and I enjoyed it far more than I expected to! We were a bit put off by the nearly empty parking lot when we arrived (however, that was just late afternoon). We walked in and took a couple seats right at the bar. We started with the sampler so we could taste as many of their beers as possible - and most were pretty good! One of the bartenders came over and asked us if the pomegranite lager was on the sampler. We reported that it wasn't, which we were kind of disappointed about since neither of us had ever tried anything like that (we're more for IPAs - not lagers, and not flavored beers).
Well, the pomegranite lager ended up being absolutely incredible! We even got a growler to go (which is already gone).
By the time we left here, the place was hopping. Still, the whole time we sat at the bar, service was friendly - and, of course, the beer and food is good! I'd definitely go back.
Overpriced and meh.
I think those are the 2 words I would use to describe this place.
Went for lunch on Saturday and was not impressed. First off, they are lacking in the vegetarian options department. There are about 2 entrees/sandwiches that don't have meat, and there was no way I was going to pay 10-12 dollars for one of their overpriced salads only to take away one of the core ingredients.
My bf ordered the fish sandwich, and I had a side salad and soup. We shared an appetizer of artichoke dip. That is where we went wrong. For 8 bucks it was a good portion, but that is where the praise ends. The dip was supposed to be hot, supposed to be being the operative phrase. It was luke warm and the oil began to separate from it and it was completely unappetizing.
The soup wasn't bad, but the salad was literally 3 bites worth and priced at 4 bucks.
If you like applebees or any other non discript sandwich joint, you'll love this place!
The service here was excellent. We were seated right away and the waitress kept our glasses full. The food was a bit over priced for the quality in my opinion. It wasn't bad food by any means, but it wasn't amazing either.
The kid's menu had quite a variety of items (my daughter had the spaghetti). It wasn't too badly priced, but I would recommend smaller portions and lowering the price. We don't really need/want take home for a 3 year old.
We went here for a rehearsal dinner recently, and really enjoyed ourselves. Â They seem to hire some very nice people. Â We had the upper level for our party, and they had a pasta making station. Â The food was very good, and I especially liked the Caesar salad and the olive cream sauce. Â I want to go back just to get a bucket of that sauce actually! Â All the beers I tried were good, and some had a fairly high alcohol content. Â I have always liked this place, and I want to stop back to try the nachos. Â We saw a few people eating them, and they looked great.
Review Source:We stopped here on our way back to Milwaukee. I expected excellent microbrewery beer and good, authentic food. I guess my expectations were too high. We got good beer but horrible food. I found the quality of the food similar to any cheap bar food. We had Friday fish fry and bratwurst, and we were not impressed.
I am definitely not returning.
From out of town and went here because we're fans of anything beer-related. Thought it'd be fun try some local brews.
Tried their seasonal Belgian trippel (Millenium tripel?) It was pretty good--a little sweet (probably needs some more aging). It had the strength of a tripel, and went well with the food.
The service was fast and friendly. We had the all-you-can eat pasta bar (wednesday night special). I enjoyed the variety of pasta and the freshly made concoctions. It was great! Their pasta chef was good at multi-tasking and got the food quickly. The sandwich we ordered came fast as well.
The atmosphere kind of felt like we were in a college dining hall. I feel like it would be better if they had booths and long family-style tables. The decor was festive!
I'd come here again, but would like to try more things on the menu and more beers.
Beer: Â The beer was all pretty tame entry level craft beer. Â The majority of the beers were in the 4.5% abv range and they did not have an IPA. Â Tasted a few of them and they were just all simple. Â Nothing complex or particularly interesting. Â
Food: Â The portions were huge judging from the plates being delivered to others near me. Â I ordered the pesto chicken pizza which was also large and had a nice crust but lacked any real flavor. Â I ended up added chili flakes, black pepper, and tabasco in order to get my taste buds fired up.
The decor is cool and it does have a nice feel to it but there are definitely better executed brew pubs than this.
My husband and I held our wedding reception at the Delafield Brewhaus. When we were first considering the Brewhaus as a reception hall, we were introduced to Trish, who is the Banquet Director. Â She couldn't have been nicer and more professional. Â Unfortunately, there was another bride who was indecisive about holding her wedding reception there on the same date. Â Trish was kind enough to keep us in the loop throughout the whole process. In the end the other bride backed out and we were lucky enough to book the Brewhaus.
Trish walked us through everything, and we settled on a main meal with sides. Before we even picked the meal, they gave us an option to do a 'sample' meal and sides, to try out beforehand. Â It came down to the chicken risotto and barbecue ribs - both of which were fantastic. Â We had several guests come up to us later on and rave about how wonderful the food was.
The chef did a great job as well. Â We had two members of our wedding party with food allergies. Â The chef was able to create a special plate for them. Â Sensational! Â We also had their craft beers served at the reception, along with one domestic on tap, and everyone enjoyed them. Â We were surprised at how reasonable everything was.
Everything about our reception was handled perfectly. Â I couldn't have been happier with the way things were done by the Brewhaus. Â The staff was courteous and professional, and I didn't hear one complaint about the day.
In terms of their everyday food, we have eaten there a few times and always walk away full and happy. Â I enjoy their turkey club sandwich, which is big and more than enough for dinner (I usually wind up taking half of it home). Â I also like sampling their craft beers (actually, try out the sampler - you can get 7 of their beers to try at once - it's sometimes hard to choose!) Â If you like any of them, you can purchase a growler and it's good to use on future fill-ups (at a discount, of course).
Just tried this place twice in the past two weeks. Â Had appetizers on a Saturday night and they were just okay. Â Went to brunch this past Sunday and it was awful. Â All they serve is the brunch, no breakfast menu to order from. Â The wait staff looked tired and messy. Â The omlet my friend had was okay, made to order, however the crepe was rubbery and the fruit inside was still frozen even though it was made while I waited. Â The pastry was displayed poorly, it looked old and dried out. Â Pie slices were sloppy on the plate. Â I ended up eating a box of frosted flakes for my $10.95. Â Maybe it is just a place to go for beer.
Review Source:It was pretty late and we wanted a quick bite to eat and a few beers so we gave the Brewhaus a shot. It was better than we expected it to be based on other Yelp reviews.
It was Taco Tuesdays (or something cleverly alliterative like that), so we tried the chicken tacos and chicken chimichanga, and both were decent. They weren't overly expensive ($8-9 an entree), the chicken was pretty tasty, and we had food leftover. The waitstaff was helpful in describing both the food and drink options. The beer was surprisingly good, compared to most of the brewpubs in Milwaukee. I'd drink the "hops and glory" again, and the kolsch was easy drinking. Overall, it wasn't mind-blowing, but I wouldn't mind going back.
Famous for:
- Beer
I've Tried (My rating out of 10)
- Southwest Chicken Wrap (5/10)
I went here for lunch, and I think the reviews for this place are about right. It's got a lot of flair on the outside, but really isn't all that. It looks cool with the brewery on the inside. I didn't get to try their beers, but I just had their lunch wrap. What can I say, it's a wrap? There was nothing really special about it because it was pretty much forgettable. If I was hungry, I'd come back, but the fries tasted like Grocery store oven baked fries, nicely seasoned though.
The Southwestern Wrap has some very delicious sounding ingredients, this is the menu item: Spicy buffalo grilled chicken, pepperjack, red onions, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, black beans and corn. Combined with our Haus' recipe southwest ranch dressing. Rolled up inside a jalapeno herb wrap.
You know what's funny? Only now did I see that it was buffalo "GRILLED" chicken. No wonder I tasted no buffalo sauce! Believe it or not, amidst the southwest ranch and veggies, I could still taste that the chicken was dry. Had the chicken been by itself, buffalo grilled or not, I'm sure it would have barely been edible. If there were jalapenos in the wrap, I missed it. The leader of this dish is most certainly the southwest ranch, and really, how can you not like ranch? Very run of the mill place.
Price is pretty good. That wrap and fries all cost $8.25. Again, since it was lunch, I couldn't try the beer, so I guess this review is pretty useless. The takeaway from this, though, is that unless I'm going to try the beer for the first time, I have no reason to go back. I don't even live around here!
It's almost like a Great Dane Brew Pub, but the food isn't as good, the beer isn't as interesting, the waitstaff is a bit flaky, and it's very smokey inside...
That said, you could do worse. I joined a group of 6 friends for dinner; we sampled nearly everything on the menu - from burgers to jambalaya to prime rib to soup and salad.
We were seated in a cozy little room located just away from the main dining/bar area, which was nice because the setting was intimate and we were shielded from a majority of the smoke. Â
The menu options are vast, but I don't think too much of the stuff is homemade, although the deep fried mushrooms clearly were hand battered (and scrumptious).
Cheese curds were decent, but appear to have been prepackaged. Â Tomato and roasted pepper soup was thick and creamy but not terribly lively. Â
Prime rib was ample but quite fatty - even by prime rib standards. Garlic mashed potatoes were good, but seemed pre-made, as did the soup and jambalaya (as in: open bag, pour contents, microwave/heat, serve). Â I could be wrong, but that was our impression.
Grilled chicken salad was clean and light, and nicely proportioned, veggies were fresh and crisp. Â Burger was a tad dry; Bavarian sausage platter was a bit dull on flavor.
Beers were "safe" and not too bold or unique. Even the "Doc Hopps" was mild on hopps flavor/aroma. But it was good beer and easy to drink. Â The sampler is a best bet at $6 - you get 4-5 ounces of each beer.
Our waitress informed us that the "cook forgot to take the desserts out of the freezer" so about half of the offerings were unavailable. Cheesecake was good, but I suspect it too came from a supplier rather than from scratch. Â Suspicions were confirmed when one of the folks at our table discovered that her slice of cheesecake was frozen solid in the middle.
Summary: the place has potential but errs on the cautious side when it comes to adventure and uniqueness. It's more or less your standard "commercial/chain pub fare" - not bad by any means, but not outstanding.
I would go back, though. Â Primarily for the mushrooms. :-)
We have eaten lunches, fish fries and brunch here. One of our favorites are the breaded mushrooms. The brunch is reasonably priced and you don't need to dress up to come to this restaurant - casual is just fine. Â The only bad thing I tried was a cheeseburger and it had a very ashy taste to it for some reason. I'm reluctant to try another.
Review Source:So it's girls' weekend, and we're in Wisconsin, and what do we think about when we think about Wisconsin? Beer! (Okay, and cheese and brats.)
It's decided that a microbrewery is in order for lunch, and since we didn't feel like driving all the way into downtown Milwaukee (being out in the burbs), we located the Delafield Brewhaus. It fit the bill.
We split two pitchers of delicious homemade root beer, and were also pleased with the food. I had the half-salad and soup, which was a cheddar-potato concoction that was rich and delicious. My greek salad could have used more feta, but the homemade dressing was quite delicious.
Lots of great-sounding choices on the menu, and everyone in our group seemed pleased with their meals. I would definitely go back the next time I'm visiting my cheesehead friend.
The beers are ok, the food is ok, the prices are ok. Â I stop here occasionally on my way back from something around Delafield. Â It's never seemed terribly busy to me, and I didn't think it was smokey either. Â But really, it's a bar. Â The smoking nazi's can get their way next year.
I do enjoy the beer here though. Â I think it's a lot better than some of the Milwaukee brew pubs, but not all. Â Still, it's worth a visit. Â The place is huge and very nicely decorated. Â Don't expect anything fancy though.
Haven't eaten there in a long time as the food was nothing special. Â As a regular member of the 'clean plate club,' I left most of my meal uneaten. Â
I have returned since then as it has been a convenient meeting place to meet up with friends for a drink. Â The prices are decent, but the bar area was so smokey (even though there were no smokers near us) that I left with a sore throat. Â Also there was live music that night, but the speakers were up so loud that we had to shout to maintain our conversation at the opposite end of the room.
Had dinner on Memorial Day with the family. Â We were seated very timely and had a great meal. Â Were in the market for something casual and somewhere children would be tolerated. Â Menu has changed since the last time we were there. Â Good choices on the menu, service was good and food was more than satisfactory.
Would recommend. Â Have eaten there before and will definately come back.
The Delafield Brewhaus befits its location off of the Interstate in a built-up commercial stretch around Hwy 83. Â Normally I would not be one to know much of anything relating to a brew-pub in the outer suburbs of Milwaukee, as I don't find myself this way all that often, and when I do pull off I-94 it is usually to get gas. Â Yet somehow I've become a semi-regular patron of the Delafield Brewhaus. Â The food is very well prepared and the beer is quite good. Â Now, if this place was in Madison it would suffer in comparison to the Great Dane or Ale Asylum in terms of the beer and the atmosphere, but for Delafield this place is exceptional. Â A place like this can suffer from a "best in the suburbs" attitude and come off as unfriendly, but I've never seen this with the Delafield Brewhaus. Â
I remember the first time that I stopped. Â A friend and I were heading to Milwaukee for a concert and we had both seen the Brewhaus from the Interstate before. Â We had time to spare so we pulled off and managed to find our way from Hwy 83 to the brew-pub. Â It's a bit difficult, since you have to wind around a lot of commercial buildings. Â We sat at the bar and the bartenders were all quite friendly, recommending different varieties and turning the channel to the UW basketball game. Â I remember getting a nitro-tapped porter that was so silky smooth that I still talk about the experience today. Â It was certainly the best nitro beer I've tried so far. Â I made it a point to stop back next time and try the food.
It took a couple of months but I did find my way back to Delafield, this time with my parents. Â We stopped for a late lunch on the weekend, getting a nicely secluded table away from the bar and enjoying a few hefe weizens. Â The Cuban sandwich here is excellent, my father really enjoyed his Greek salad and my mother had a baked turkey sandwich that looked pretty tasty. Â It was a really laid-back relaxing lunch and the waitstaff were all friendly. Â I've stopped several times now on my various trips to the Milwaukee area and I can't say I've had a bad experience. Â Once I came through fairly late a night and stopped to get a sandwich. Â The late night menu is more pizza-based but I got a nice ham & swiss on rye that paired very well with the pale that had been on special.
Recently I've gone to two trade association luncheons held at the Delafield Brewhaus. Â I had never noticed before but there is a banquet hall in the lower level of the building. Â It's set up nicely, with an entrance from the parking lot and a bar in the back. Â Since it was a trade association meeting, and more importantly I was there with my boss, I didn't stick around for the "social hour" but the food served at both occasions was definitely worth the trip. Â I'll never be a regular at the Delafield Brewhaus because I'm never going to regularly be in Delafield. Â However I'll make a point to stop by on the occasions that I am in the area.
