If I was rating this Denny's against a normal Denny's, this would be 5-star. It is new, clean, and there is outdoor seating. Rating it against a normal restaurant, Denny's is still just ok. Â I ordered the Fit Slam. Â I think this has the potential to be great eventually, but it is clearly a new menu item. Â It is scrambled egg whites with spinach and tomatoes, turkey bacon, fruit, and an English muffin. Â The fruit was good -- fresh and free of melon (i.e. filler fruit). Â It included bananas, apples, strawberries, and grapes. Â The turkey bacon was terrible. Â I make turkey bacon at home and know that it is nearly grease-free. Â They obviously added oil or cooked it with regular bacon, because it came to the table dripping. Â It also wasn't crispy. Â Again, I think it is new; otherwise, the cook would know you have to cook it longer to make it crispy. Â The eggs were ok, but there was entirely too much spinach in them. Â I ordered the hash browns, and they were fine -- shredded potatoes, nicely browned, but not seasoned. Â
Bonus -- they will give you a to-go cup for coffee and cold beverages. Â Breakfast for two was just under $20. Â They had free wifi.
They are located directly across the street from the French Lick resort. Â Very conveniently located.
Now, this is still a Denny's.... Â Don't misconstrue the 5 Stars for being the best food I have ever eaten.
I give it that rating considering the cleanliness, atmosphere (lots of TV's), location (right in the middle of French Lick), and overall quality of food.
I have come in at various times of the day and the food is always great. Â I can highly recommend this place for breakfast as a way to spend some of your early morning gambling money.
