Total dive bar and anything but classy; however, it's a perfect place to chill and have a beer. This is a bar where the locals come to play a cheap game of pool (3 tables), darts, drink, and/or dance (only on the weekends).
During the week you will run into the regulars 10-12 people who filter in and out throughout the evening.
If you go on a Friday night or weekend this place gets crowded... believe it or not! The drinks are cheap but not always the greatest. It depends on the bar tender you get. If you are nice to them they will look out for you all night long.
This bar is walking distance from my house and is a great place to relax and enjoy a pitcher of beer over a game of pool.
Where do I begin. If you know me, you know that I like to get down. And that is close to impossible in Hollyweird and in most L.A. clubs. It seems my appetite can only be quenched either in West Hollywood...or in crazy ass discoveries such as DJ's Lounge. I will not expand on the details of this particular night or how I even ended up here. Or how my tipsy self almost got involved in a little tiff in the parking lot....
But what I will say is: THIS PLACE IS LEGIT. No, obviously, if you look at me, I don't fit the profile of this place. But that seriously does not even matter because I love everybody. Bottom line is-- I had no problems gettin my groove on. And yes, my groove does descriminate. The DJ kept it crackin. And so did my ladies at the bar! Strong, stiff, and enough to cause anything. Good or bad.
DJ's Lounge has proven to the nonbelievers that I am a down ass chick. Down to ride as long as the music is top notch, drinks are proper and only chill vibes throughout...until we meet in parking lot...Lol.
I only come here on Wednesday nights. "Random" - one might say. Yes, it is random. An OC girl to treks to Montclair on Wednesday nights? Crazy broad...
Well, here's the deal - my boyfriend DJ's here with his buddy every Wednesday night. Every time I have gone, the crowd is different. As stated in the other review, the biker crew was there once. Next time, it had a backyard gangsta boogie vibe going on. Next time, it was a very mixed crowd (all age groups, all types). You get the point - each time is a surprise. However, never a problem. The bartender is always very nice & the crowd just seems to hang out and want to have a good time. It is never overly crowded but has more than 5 people in there.
Bottom line, I don't mind coming here. But I wouldn't go desperately out of my way to grab a drink here either.
**Dive Bar
**Cheap Drinks
**Cool (somewhat normal) people
**Pool tables/Darts/etc to keep you entertained
So if you're bored, come by and hang with us on a Wednesday. You're guaranteed to find a seat.
This bar reminds me of the dirty, dingy bars in movies. Everyone is dressed in biker clothing with long beard and an array of tattoos. No one looked under 30.
Yes, I was afraid. Why did the guys bring me here?
With all biases put aside, this place was good. Who else charges $3.50 for a glass of Stone IPA? Probably no one, but DJ's lounge.
I kid not, I spent about $35 on 5 shots of Cuervo, a beer and one Redbull and vodka. Super cheap!
The atmosphere was really fun too. No drama, no haters. Just people looking to have a good time!
The live band consisted of a hippie chick and long haired metalheads playing classic rock songs. It got a little too loud at times, but you get used to it after a while.
Restrooms were clean too!
I am looking forward to this place again.
