A good place to hang out with friends and have a few beverages. Â Beer selection could be better, but I can get something I like (yes, I am a beer snob). Â Live entertainment is good and varied. Â Service is good. Â Food is nothing special - but that is not what I go for. Â Parking is a challenge in the front - but there is plenty at Kroger's behind the bar.
Review Source:Good place to go after work for happy hour after work (1/2 off apps too!). Always some sort of entertainment going on i.e trivia, karaoke, or band. The servers and bartenders here are friendly and fast. Seriously, I have never waited more than a couple of minutes for a new drink, even with a packed house.
Two small negatives - smoking allowed and small parking lot
This rating is for the atmosphere alone. Â Not my drink, which was, in a word, disaster. Â I took a risk, as they didn't have my drink of choice and ordered a spiced rum and Dr. Pepper. Â I have no idea what I was thinking, either, and no one stopped me. Â I'm pretty certain, and my friend, who tasted it is also pretty certain, that they accidentally put Bacardi 151 in it, because one tiny sip sent a shock wave to the brain. Â Either that, or when I asked for 'weak', it was opposite day.
That written -- it was Trivia Night. Â We just walked in on a whim, and everyone in the bar was in a good mood. Â You could feel it in the air. Â Groups sat at tables, played darts and were sharing laughs and good times, and for a second I wondered if I was in 'Cheers'. Â People seemed to know each other -- it was really nice. Â
The guy running trivia kept people entertained and people were getting really into it -- I believe the prize for the night was fifty bucks. Â I soon realized that this wasn't the last time I'd be back to Doc Watson's -- and I'd be sure to order a different drink. Â You have to love a place that serves a fried chicken sandwich -- awesome.
