Dog Star Tavern

Dogstar Tavern is definitely my favorite bar in Fernandina. Owned by the guys who brought you The Green Turtle, the Tavern is known for their beer and the great bands they book. Touring acts from the Southeast and further, plus great local acts, rock out here atleast a few times a week. I live 45 minutes away in Jacksonville Beach, but if there's a holiday or special occasion, I always check to see what's going on at Dogstar. I want to give it 5 stars, but their bathrooms are single stall and, because they're located in the middle of the open-room bar, a busy night means a long potty line occupying valuable mingling and dancing area! I wouldn't be surprised if they fixed that issue soon though.

Worst Margarita in Florida, It was not the Bar staff issue it is the watery mix they use but because I did not like it even when they remade it, they never came back to
our seats to check to see if they could get anything, even though the wife sat with an empty beer glass for 10mins and I had to ask one of the bartenders to bring me my card. If your looking for drinks Like beer, Liquor already bottled you maybe safe here, for cheap drinks and spartan surroundings, IT IS NO PALACE SALOON!
Owners go to Moss Fire Grill in Jax on Weds for Margarita Specials Night or walk up the street and see Martin at Peppers to see how it is done!
