These guys know wine, food and service as they are all outstanding. Â Yes, it is known as the best wine bar in Minnesota but their food is also outstanding. Â We eat there once a week and the variation in menu always keeps us interested but the quality and consistency of food brings us back. Â Chef Jeffrey prepares fish perfectly every time!
Review Source:I literally felt a wash of sadness come over me when I realized I was about to take my last bite.
Our meal was fabulous from start to finish. Â We were greeted warmly by one of the proprietors, Alecks, and the service never ceased to amaze us. Â
Our beet salad (locally sourced) was amazing. Â At first we commented that it wasn't very big, but the trick is that they constantly left us wanting just a little more, in a good way.
Alecks brought out a tomatillo soup that was "slap your momma" good. Â
I tried the spaghetti, which was amazing. Â It was more like an Asian Lo Mein, wrapped in a smooth sauce with peanuts and a tender beef tenderloin.
The coup de grâce was the pork tenderloin.  This is, quite literally, one of the best things I've ever tasted.  The smoky romesco and the mojo verde blend together with the succulent pork to create this amazing mouth harmony.  This is the kind of dish that would inspire Meg Ryan to actually climax at a table. No offense to Billy Crystal.
Seriously, if you haven't been here. Go. Â You'll be better for it.
Wow, what is this place doing in Stillwater? Â It was so good we had to go for dinner two nights in a row.
First tip - good idea to make a reservation as the dining area is relatively small. Â They are in the process of expanding soon though.
The wine...
Excellent list, lots of choices, great selection by the glass, flight tastings, grower champagnes. Â There is something for everyone here from all the major wine regions and then some, with markups imho very reasonable.
They also will allow you to bring your own for a $20 corkage, but they have something for everyone and then some. Â They thoughtfully have a selection of large formats, verticals and horizontals. Â If we had been more than 2 we would have taken on a vertical for sure.
Specials every day, first night had burrata bruschetta and "spaghetti". Â Their bread and the bruschetta were fantastic. Â The spaghetti was beef tenderloin with an asian twist and much more Asian than anything spaghetti. Â It was delicious, my one minor criticism was oversalted - with the soy and likely some marinating, the beef was super salty in particular.
Next night had the beef tenderloin with bacon jam, and also amazing. Â Dessert was the best pana cotta either of us ever had along with a sparkling red delicious glass of vino.
Great service, water glasses always filled, knowledgable about food and wine, and they actually have a wine shop in back as well.
Worth driving to Stillwater just for dinner here (not open for lunch)
