Some high school friends were in town so we thought we'd check out the neighborhood bar "Do Naughties" that seems to be packed with people. We were here for just a few minutes and decided to go. It was almost awkwardly too well lit and pretty packed (granted it was a Friday night). Might be fun to visit when it is not busy as they do have games to play (darts, pool, etc.).
Review Source:While I don't know why it is listed as a bar and grill even though it doesn't sell any food other than chips, I love this place. Â Had some of my best memories of Modesto in it. Â Great service and great deals. Â Can be a tight fit on a busy night, but the crowd is usually friendly and welcoming.

And... No. Â I feel bad giving it only ONE star because it's not my scene so I give it two for all the Modesteans that do like it. Â It's an interesting bar... Too lit (as in lighting) for my taste. Especially since theres a "dance floor"... and of all places, near the dart boards?? Â There are two pool tables. Â And lots of guys standing around.... the guy to girl ratio is WAY off. Â And there always seems to be some ordeal going on because cops are always there (either because of this place or Torii's). Â They do have a happy hour with $2 beers, $3 kamikaze, and $5 patron shots.
I don't think I had enough drinks to enjoy this place, or ever will. Â High hopes, dashed.
I went to use the bathroom and a guy in there tried to sell me some crank aka meth and I said ummm F NO!! and went out and told the bartender what had happened and he asked me if I bought any and I responded hell no ! And he said " good .. There's no problem then .. Well that told me that the bartender is in on the drug dealing .
Review Source:If you like country music and trashy/ghetto people, then this place is for you. If you don't like these things but you enjoy being entertained, then this place is for you too. The mixed drinks are expensive and the beers are average..overall it's not a horrible place to get drunk. Lots of creepy guys around but I guess you could say that for any bar. Some nights you may be lucky enough to hear some metal/rap.

Drinks are a bit pricey, for Modesto. We paid $4 for a pint of Bud Light. $9 for a Long Island that wasn't too impressive. Decent crowd at any day of the week. But, they have way too many lights in there. I felt like I was sitting in the forum at Beyer.
My biggest problem? They had last call at 1:12!!! I checked my phone. On the dot, 1:12...last call. That's just ridiculous. Nobody needs 48 minutes to drink a beer. Then, they decided to kick everyone out at 1:45. Oh well, less tips for them.

It's cool, but like any other Modesto establishment, it's GHETTO! Come on Mo, is it that hard to have a cool place to grab a beer (or 5) and just chill??!!? We went in with some friends, and during our 2nd drink we had to duck. Glass was a-flyin! Yeah. Nothing like enjoying your adult beverage and feeling ice and alcohol escaping from a broken glass. Geeze.
Ughhhhhhhhhh... I detest Donoby's. We often choose places to hang out where we are comfortable with the location, atmosphere, and people, Donoby's however has none of that for me.
Cons:
1. Full of hot headed, fight starting douchebags
2. WAY too crowded with not enough help at the bar
3. Location sucks
Pros:
Occasionally you'll get a smile from the bartender, but that's about it.
But, if you're a hot headed douchebag or some drama filled brat you will love this place. Pool tables, darts, golden tee golf, and a jukebox. Have at it, cause you'll never see me there.
About 5 years ago we would always go to Donobys and some times it was the only stop that night! Now after all these years I have to say I tend to avoid it! I know some people who will swear its the best place in town, but to be honest (always am by the way) this place has gone alittle ghetto every time I go I feel like someone wants to get in my face. Look "Eminem wanna-be" I wanna have a drink in peace, I don't want to show you what the emergency room looks like on a Saturday night! Seriously can use some better security!
