I wish a place like this existed in my town. Â Great beer selection that emphasizes Texas (with plenty of DFW represented) but also has excellent taps from elsewhere. Â Great prices. Â Mellow vibe in a converted old house with plenty of outdoor seating where dogs and children are generally welcome during the day. Â I agree that the beer line can be chaotic during busy hours, but whatever. Â It's certainly better than standing three deep waiting for a Corona at a frat bar.
Review Source:One of the best places in Denton. If you don't like beer, there is a full bar. There is something for everyone here. The environment is laid back.
The guys go out of their way to make it comfy too. They have bug spray, sunscreen and dog bowls out and ready for use. In the winter, they bring out heating lamps.
There is always something going on here and there are always specials.
On Monday nights, they give some of the proceeds to charity.
Don't forget to download the app if you're a regular, push notifications of specials and buy ten beers, get one free!
I was very excited on the day that Oak St Draft House was opened. A year and almost a half later, I am still very excited about this establishment, and trying to find all kind of excuses to go there as frequently as I can.
Since most fans of this place already covered everything great I could say about it, I will, then, try to explain my feverish about the Oak St Draft house from a slightly different angle.
Oak St Draft might not carry the best selection of micro beers, however, it does carry a rare ability in understanding the local communities, contributing to the local communities through charity works, and building the customer loyalties around it. I think the owner of the Oak St Draft should write a book on how to run a successful business in Denton TX that everybody loves. Period.
Oh,BTW, the OSD&CP has the best price for drinking the Real Ale Sisyphus. Trust me. It is better than eating a burger.
Best...ONLY beer garden on town!
Oak St. has 40+ beers on draft, with a special emphasis on local beers DFW and Texas. Their prices are good, the old house is cozy, and the back yard beer garden is just fantastic. This is one of my favorite haunts, and just about everyone else's in town too. For VERY good reason.
I just want to re-emphasize my love for OSDH&CP. The new iPhone app is awesome, and I've been to some great events recently - namely the Armadillo Ale launches. I love the new (or not-so-new at this point) string lights, they're muuuuch better than the interrogation light that was there before. It makes everything look so much friendlier, and don't we all look just a little bit better in soft light?
Try the cucumber margarita, get a grape soda, and finish with a beer or 8. You're in good hands at Oak.
This is now one of my favorite bars in Denton next to Lou's. Which is great because one of the employees here used to work at Lou's. His name is Jeremy and he is probably one of the most laid back, chill beer slingers you'll ever meet. I was out here on a date excursion and she wanted to hit this place up. Not only did I end playing a rather intense game of connect 4 with a guy who had the mannerisms and look of Zack Galifianakis but the music/envo was right up my alley. I lived in a house off of Bernard that looked exactly like this place so I felt right at home when we walked in. The patron's were super chill too! I met some cool hipsters and shared shots with a newly married couple. If you don't like the black keys, beatles, bob dylan and good old school hip hop, you probably wouldn't like this place. If you do, this place is for you! Give this place a visit and give Jeremy a hi five!
Review Source:My favorite bar in Denton. Absolutely fantastic beer selection at a reasonable price. This and Pascal's is the perfect 1-2 punch for Dentonites looking for a better bar outside your typical college drunk fest like the bars found on Fry Street.
Another plus: they've got Denton's own Armadillo Aleworks Quakertown on tap - the only place I know to get it currently outside of buying a keg at Midway Mart.
About the only downside to the place is something completely out of their control: it can get crowded. Damn crowded. I went to the place on it's 3rd night of business, and I loved how laid back and intimate it was. Word quickly spread and it's not really a "laid back" atmosphere anymore. Being as popular as it's become, that's sort of impossible to be able to maintain, so I can't knock them for it - I just wish it was more of a secret for selfish reasons :) They've put a lot of effort into improving the patio area though which has made it a bit better.
Although I moved away from Denton I have a special place in my heart for OSDH&CP (if you don't know what that stands for, then you need to hang out there more often).
Just last year I watched in excitement as the little white house on Oak Street, formerly a vintage clothing store, started building up it's little white fence and poured in gravel and landscaping. Now it has turned into a full-scale operation, run by the owners and staff that know the pulse of the city. When I interviewed the owner John for a piece in the Dentoneer, he had made special effort to discover as much history about the building itself by asking locals and doing research. On a slow day, find him wondering around and year the awesome stories.
The details: there is an in and outdoor bar, which serves great beer, including local brews and "fancy" beers (I am no beer snob, but those I know are impressed by the menu) as well as cocktails. It is smoke-free inside, and the rooms are filled with funky furniture and art. Take a ride on the barber chair or lounge on one of the old vintage couches. The patio is ginormous, with plenty of tables, heatlamps in the winter, fans in the summer, and dog-friendly. If you ever are trying to find it, follow the roar of the crowd and live music (I'd also like to thank my lucky stars I did not rent the apartment right behind there a few months before they opened the doors).
My personal favorite thing about this place? The bathroom plumbing. They put a lot of effort to make the toilets flush like a rocketship.
The scene? All your friends. and their friend's friends. and their family. If you are a Denton local, you will always run into someone you know there or if not, strike up a conversation with someone.
I have no doubt John and the other owners have great plans. They have made a huge success with the Oak Street, and even starting to bring in live music and possibly food carts. Next step, the moon!
Definitely one of my favorite spots in Denton. The interior is a charming old house with comfy sofas, intriguing decor (love that lamp) and a sit-down multi-game arcade set-up. It's a great hang out with friends in winter (when they remember to turn the heat on) or when it's rainy (especially because it's one of 3 bars in Denton that DO NOT allow smoking! WOO HOO!!), but I think the backyard outdoor area is the big draw. They even have umbrellas for shade or heaters if it gets chilly.
A lot of reviewers seem to think the whole place has a bit of a watered down Austin feel (perhaps in the spirit of Spider House but way more beer) but I think it's a great addition to Denton. The crowd seems to have a little bit of everyone, it's not a bunch of college kids. Likewise, the music is pretty diverse as well--50s rock one day, country the next, but it's almost always good stuff.
No food offered but you can order from anywhere willing to deliver or bring your own.
The bartenders are all very friendly and helpful. There are about 50 or so beers on tap with a focus on Texas brews. Ask about any beers you're unsure of, and you'll likely also get a sampling first. They have a couple wines (sadly only chardonnay in the white dept--usually I hate chardonnay but this is Becker Vineyards so it's drinkable) as well, and the few mixed drinks I've had have been pretty tasty. It definitely gets pretty crazy on weekend nights but I've found it's usually still manageable!
A trip to Denton would not be complete without a stop at the Oak St. Drafthouse.
On this beautiful almost spring day (3/15/2013) the weather was perfect for sitting outside, drinking beer and people watching. The last time I was here it was night and it was cold. While I enjoyed that experience greatly, I must say sitting in the sun was more enjoyable. Nearly every table was filled and the place was bustling. The mix of patrons was eclectic to say the least. It's cool that this place appeals to all and is dog friendly too.
On this visit I tried a couple of beers I have not had in a while. My first was a Delirium Tremens, which I recently read was the number one beer in the world. I did not like it as much as I remembered (I recall more sweetness and less tartness). My second beer was a Revolver Blood and Honey. Oddly I did not like it as much as I remembered either (I was not getting the honey and orange notes), making me wonder if my taste buds were off. Could it have been lunch at Hoochie's Oyster House (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/hoochies-oyster-house-denton">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>) or dessert at Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/beth-maries-old-fashioned-ice-cream-denton-2">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>)? I hope not. Actually, I don't think so, I just think I was remembering the first time I had these beers and now I just don't like them as much. Lucky for me there are plenty of other options on offer here (for next time). And maybe I'm just lucking into specials, but the prices here always seem to be very reasonable.
On this visit I also did wander the inside (all two rooms, not counting the foyer and the bar), and I got say, "M'eh, I've seen better". Sure there are a couple of rooms, with a very eclectic mix of furniture, but nothing that made me want to sit down... Not even in the barber's chair (or is it dentist? I'm not really sure). I saw no access to upstairs, so maybe it's staff only. Since 90% of the people sit outside anyway, I guess it's no big deal. I'd like to see more, but Oh well. On the plus side if the skies open up it's nice to have a place to run to... But I'd like to see everyone outside fit inside... I don't think that's going to happen.
Bottom line: OSD will always be on my "stop in" list for whenever I'm in Denton.
PS. I don't recall seeing it my last visit, but there is a bar outiside on the patio. I don't think it's the same full selection as inside, but if the crowd inside gets too intense, the bar outside may be better (it never looked that busy on this full house pre-spring day).
I can't get enough of OSDH&CP. Anytime I have friends from out of town visit, they are always amazed by the selection of 48 draft beers, the 70+ in bottles, and the great prices. I particularly like ordering by number and I keep trying to work my way through the list before they rearrange the list.
Review Source:Oak St. Drafthouse is the kind of venue that totally thrives in city like Denton. It's a charismatic concept; resurrecting the third oldest house in town by converting it into a bar. The essence of "home" is still honored through the preservation of original furnishings and decor, and a  "boutique bar" spirit is risen with the promise of great beer, creative cocktails, and an awesome patio.
I'd like to talk about this "patio" for a minute. Oak St. Drafthouse is a house, of course; an old Denton house with awesome, beautiful porches. Naturally, it possesses a front and backyard. The outdoor patio is definitely - and simply - a giant backyard. It's full of picnic tables, mismatched patio furniture, and outdoor games strewn about. You feel like a big kid being released into your grandmother's backyard where you can roam freely, relax, hang out for hours, and feel safe. It's all made better with a drink in hand, and on the weekends the "back bar" is open so you won't have to walk inside to buy your brew!
There's all sorts of drink specials going on here, so check their website, facebook, or twitter for their most up-to-date goodies. They also feature live bands fairly often and participate in a lot of events; I know they're involved with 35 Denton and host "tap takeovers" from new breweries in the area.
Oak St. Drafthouse is a pretty darn Denton-y bar, obviously, so expect a not too diverse crowd of young twenty-somethings with beards. I've seen patrons from other demographics on occasion, so I do think this bar's appeal translates well to anyone. I'm sure they'll only get more popular!
I REALLY wanted to like the Oak St. Drafthouse! Â I want to support local businesses, and it seemed to have so much going for it. Â But, for me, it just doesn't quite come together.
Lots of good beers on tap? Â Check!
A selection that is nicely rounded and changing often? Â Check!
Clean glassware? Â Check!
Oops, that's the end of the checklist because that's where the goodness stops.
Since I didn't go to UNT or TWU, and since I'm not a drinking buddy with the owners or bartenders, it seems I'm at a disadvantage and not in their target demographic.
What I see is a run down house filled with retro furniture. Â Retro without class. Â It looks like stuff picked up on the side of the road after no one bought it at the estate sale and before the trash man picked it up.
The flow of the place is awful when they are busy, and not that good at any time. Â The beers are served from a centrally located room. Â It gets crowded, and the line becomes diffuse and directionless as people go through the room to the front or back of the building. Â When you finally get to the bartenders, they want you to tell them the tap number, not the beer name. Â This is the only place I've been where I have to tell someone, "I want a number 12" rather than, "Maredsous tripple".
The decor would be eclectic if it were a bit more polished. Â The only TV's I've seen here are 1950's vintage analog TV's that, for many reasons, don't work. Â Since the floors are neither polished nor freshly painted, the place has a dirty feel to it. Â It's probably not actually dirty, but it doesn't feel clean. Â I'm not looking for an antiseptic building, just cared for. Â I'm hardly a snob - I love the Dog and Duck in Austin, the lamented Prufrock's in Houston and even Dirty Martin's in Austin - and none of those places are going to win a "House Beautiful" award.
Still, I'd rather drive further and go to the flying saucer, the gingerman, or even further and go to the moth.
I'll probably come here again - too many of my friends swoon at the mere mention of it's name for me to successfully avoid it. Â And I'd love to give it a better rating. Â We'll see.
I love the atmosphere of this place and the beer selection is wonderful! I come here frequently for a 5:01 meeting or a late-night hang out with friends. The backyard space is my favorite! Tons of picnic tables and an outdoor bar, and heaters for when it's cold! Love coming here.
My one criticism would be that the bartenders get really annoyed when you don't order using the numbers. Since I come often, I know the drill, but I've witnessed them be rather mean to first-timers.
There was a time in my life when I hated going to bars. That time in my life was before Oak Street Draft House existed.
I used to frequent Loophole back in the day, but it's been overrun by frat guys and loud karaoke renditions of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. I'll pass.
I love the entire OSDH staff. They are always welcoming and know me by name and that's not because I'm a lush. Not completely. The whole establishment sang me happy birthday when I celebrated my 24th there. Let me tell you, drunk KatyBelle was overwhelmed.
The bar staff will recommend something fantastic if you mention a beer that you already like. I appreciate such variety in the beer wall, specifically with Texas weather. Sure, it's 40 degrees and I really want a 512 Pecan Porter, but I'm going to want a St Arnold's Lawnmower the next day when it's 75 out, and OSDH never lets me down.
The best bar in Denton, hands down. While I typically get one of the many incredible beers offered on draft, during the winter they offer fantastic hot drinks. Do your life a favor: Try the Almond Kiss.
I'm also really looking forward to the East Side Social Club that John will be opening up across the street within the next year or so. I have faith in his ability to run any bar and I'll be a loyal customer for years to come.
Fantastic 50+ beer selection, its neat that dogs are allowed on leashes outside. Has a good selection of board games inside, including Cards Against Humanity. Outside theres a ping pong table and beanbag toss. I love that they are smoke free (except beer garden), as smoke ruins craft beer!
Review Source:My brother lives in Denton. Â That is how I know about the Oak St. Drafthouse. Â I now have been there as well. Â Thankfully it was on a warmish evening as the outdoor space in the back is huge and good for people watching.
The inside is where the magic is. Â There are many beers on tap here. Â Most of them are local Texas brews. Â I love supporting local and on this night one of the beers came with a free pint glass from the brewery. Â We got there as the keg was getting to its final pour. Â Our pints were probably 2 of the last that came out of the thing, but a free pint glass is a free pint glass.
After taking those out to the back and enjoying them, we got another beer from the bar outside. Â You really can't beat $3 pints and we enjoyed a few more TX beers.
Nice laid back vibe from the place. Â Even got to meet one of the owners who my brother knows a bit. Â He'd fit well in Portland with his thick beard. Â Drinking here I almost felt like I was home.
While sitting out on the back porch of Oak St. Drafthouse, I was chatting with my friends about the change that has been happening in Denton. Â We were marveling at all the amazing establishments that have been popping up around the square, and there is no better example than Oak St. Â The beer selection is astounding and the bartenders really have a solid understanding of each of the 40+ beers on tap. Â It's hard not to wish that I was still a college students basking in the glory of the up and coming bar scene here in Denton!
Oak St. really shines on the beautiful Denton days when you can really enjoy sitting in the back area, staring at the variety of dogs that patrons regularly bring in and enjoying brews that you'd have a hard time finding anywhere else. Â I am currently obsessed with a milk stout nitro (#26 I believe) that pours beautifully and goes down even smoother. Â It's hard at times not to feel overwhelmed by the enormity of draft and bottled beers, but keep heart in knowing that it's hard to go wrong in your choice. Â The best way to enjoy a visit to Oak St. is to be adventurous and not stick with the same old beer you're used to.
This place is awesome, they have a great selection of beer and drinks. Their well drinks are even good for being well. Titos Vodka, Cuervo tequila, beam. I mean not the best selection but for being well it blows all other places out the water! The bartenders are also really cool also.
Review Source:It's not particularly hard to sort out just how Oak St Drafthouse has managed to captivate the Denton community in the time that it's been pouring: and why not? It has all the hallmarks of some of my favorite bars - the reputable beer list (replete with a Texan forward section), a seemingly ever-changing bottled beer list and a (by my estimation) savvy staff that loves to chat about what makes beer good for different people. In fact, I tasted a sour which I never would have given a chance otherwise and was pretty impressed. Score one for the bar staff.
There's a giganto-courtyard slash porch out back, and I lots to love on temperate days. Oak St is patio culture, through and through. And with an assortment of bevvies at the ready (they do cocktails too), who wouldn't wanna give that a whirl once in a while?
Great local joint to enjoy some suds. Â More than forty on tap as I recall. Â Has a nice bar selection as well if you want a stiff drink. Â Reasonably priced Happy Hour. Â Can get crowded if the weather is nice and near the weekends. Â Staff is helpful if you get confused or want direction on the huge chalkboard beer menu.
Review Source:Best bar in denton. The bar is inside of an old house. You can't smoke in the house, but the back is a huge backyard fences in with a low fence. Great music that's not too loud. Lots of furniture to hang out with friends. Great place to go in groups. not so good to go alone unless you know everyone in denton. There is also a second bar in the back as well.
Review Source:OSDH&CP is easily my favorite beer joint ever. I moved to SoCal a few months back and can't find anything quite like it. That being said if you enjoy quality beer and a laid back backyard vibe this is the place to go. The bartenders are very fun and knowledgeable.
You can also order food to be delivered from Mellow Mushroom to your table on the patio to compliment you Deep Ellum brew.
Doesn't get any better than that.
Ok, let me just start by saying I'm a little partial, as John is the most awesome bar manager/owner in the world.
That being said, I drink quite often, so I know what to expect from a bar. This place definitely takes the cake.
They have about 50 draft beers that rotate, as well as a fully stocked bar.
While it isn't the cheapest place in town, they always have $Lonestar, and good daily specials.
The atmosphere is the #1 draw for me. It's where all the old Lou's kids grew up and moved to for drinks. The old house is outfitted with Grandma's house; it's so comfy we always joke that someone is going to forget where they are some day an light up a joint by accident.
The beer garden is awesome, with plenty of seating and it's own bar.
The staff is pretty friendly, although they can get grumpy I some stupid bitch is all "ooh I don't know what I want, how about, ooooh, I don't know....". But I would be too. She is holdin up the line!
Nice, relaxed, great bar.
Strolling by on a warm August night, we saw the Oak St. Drafthouse and couldn't resist. Â It's set in a big old Victorian house with the beer bar in the foyer next to the front door. Â All the rooms have furniture for lounging, old-timey pictures on the walls, and the highlight is the huge yard in the back yard filled with chairs, tables, benches and ping pong. Â They have huge fans in the yard that lower the saturation of smoke, and despite the crowd, the overall noise level remained low, which is a win in my book. Â They have an impressive microbrew selection- mostly on tap, and the guys behind the counter pretty much live for all things beer. Â
I was looking for a cask ale (basically a beer without carbonation) and they immediately pointed me towards Gravel Road, made by Fort Worth's Rahr and Sons Brewerey. Â What a perfect choice... unfiltered, low carbonation and almost more of a juice than a beer, but not sweet at all- amazing.
I'm not a bar guy, but this place works for me.
I've been meaning to update this for awhile now. Â This place has grown on me so much and they continually give back. Â Not only do they have an excellent beer selection, but they are now making on some "finer" cocktails. Â
This opened up the door for so many other people and has made this a more rounded bar. Â The cocktails are good and i've had nothing that really complain about. Â While they are not "top shelf" or "high end" they do hit the spot if you are wanting something that you cannot normall get in Denton. Â I'm super pleased with this!!!
Staff is still pretty darn good and keep things nice and tidy.  I was out there one saturday and they served everyone fajitas for a customer appreciation day!!!  I starting to fall in love with this place, but the inside is holding me back.  Like i said before i would like to see how it grows and it has, but i don't think it's reached it's full  potential yet.  I look forward to see what they come up with next
We love this place.
OSDH&CP is a perfect addition to the area with so many great new restaurants just down the street.
The beer garden (that's a big patio if you don't know) is unique in this area. They even host ping pong tournaments!
Be sure to ask when the next charity night or local brewery beer school will be.
The greatest thing about OSDH&CP is the bar staff. They know more about every kind of beer than anyone I've ever met. And they would have to because the selection here is one of the best. So much variety!
Grab your friends, designate a driver and get down here!
My hubby had his retirement party here in May. Every since then we have come at least every other week for happy hour and we usually don't do happy hours. My favorite beer is the Ruby Red. Â This is laid back and caters to all ages. My husband and I are of the 45 and older set so we usually come early. However there is a large 21plus following that usually start to arrive when we are leaving. I love Denton and it is great to have a place like this to go.
Review Source:This is a great addition to Denton.
Located in a historic house, it's kind of like a coffee shop for people who drink beer. Neat old furniture, separate rooms, and the huge outdoor area. Â I love getting a beer on a nice afternoon (recommend #23, Franconia Wheat), sitting under the big trees outside and just reading a book.
I went on a Friday night shortly after it opened and it was definitely a bit awkward trying to make it thought the crowd to the one counter to get a beer. Took forever, too. However, it looks like they've added an extra bar outside since then, so I'm sure that helps a lot.
I have to admit, I'm a bit partial to this place... I love a good beer and the idea of a bar simply centered around hanging out with friends. No TVs, no loud bass, no pool tables... just a lot of chairs, a big ass backyard, and bean bags if you want to play. Haven't seen a popped collar yet! The background music sounds like someone hooked their iPod up to the stereo and is always different- Much better than most bars in Denton for sure.
This is one of those places that you can stop in and grab a beer almost any time and with anyone. A mid-day drink is nothing out of the ordinary. There's not really a defined "vibe" of the bar- you'll see all types of people at all different ages. It's kind of like stopping by a friend's house that just happens to have a ton of delicious craft beers and invites you to hang out in the backyard. As a side note- seating space inside the house is limited. The lack of shade in the backyard would be my one complaint/concern. They're constantly putting up and taking down individual table umbrellas and now have a few shade shelters, but I don't know how much that will help when it gets to be 110 degrees. If only there was a way to plant some big trees in the middle of it all... But as of now, the temperatures are still bearable at night when there's a good breeze.
The pricing is pretty reasonable, especially considering the number of specialty beers and frequency of new ones. It's nice to be able to try stuff you see at the store before splurging on a 6 pack. Most beers will run you about $4-5/pint, with higher alcohol ones in a 7oz. specialty glass at a higher price. Their late night happy hour from 9-11pm nightly is wonderful with double premium wells for only $3 (Amsterdam Gin, Titos Vodka, Jim Beam, Sauza Gold and Cruzan Rum).
The staff has always been exceptionally friendly. You order your beer by number off a massive menu, which kind of feels like ordering at a fast food place, but they're good about confirming what you want. There is NO pretentious beer snob attitude and they're always willing to offer recommendations when asked.
They seem to be constantly improving, which just makes it that much easier to support and love this place. The beer and liquor selection continues to grow, they are hosting awesome events, and I've noticed regular new little additions like lights on the fence posts, citronella candles, etc. Yeah, everything's still a little plain and has room to grow, but if you haven't checked it out already, I strongly recommend you do.
Random note: If you're looking for more info on the Drafthouse, check out their Facebook instead of their website- <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fpages%2FOak-St-Drafthouse%2F194872583926791&s=89c9aac2513e047a5f4e3dbddc9ae83b024effd84220e2daf16ada6ae8421d66" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.facebook.com/…</a>
My brother told me about this place today, we are both beer geeks and heard of this place via word of mouth. When he pulled into parking lot I was like "Where is this place?" and he said pointing across the street "Right there"..
But all I seen was a older historic house....but apparently, this WAS our destination! Holy crap, walk in here, you see a couple rooms and a ton of taps, 48 to be exact....took me a while to adjust.....this is a house with an awesome bar!!!...the rooms were full so we went into the back yard. Wow! Round bar tables with tents and picnic tables in the shade. Unbelievable! Overall, you have to go here to believe, and great prices too! Damn I wish I lived down the street! Also, in regards to another persons rating on the place, "I have been outside of Denton".....This place is awesome and they are cooperating with the beer culture, giving this place a low score and you consider yourself a beer geek is just wrong! Any beer enthusiast would have huge appreciation for this place.
So I really enjoyed coming here last night just to relax and hangout. My first impression of the place was ummm wasn't that a house? And the answer to that is yes oak st. drafthouse was once a house that got converted into a beerhaven.
So their selection is pretty good with 48 beers and some liquors for those of you who don't drink beer. The staff seemed very well knowing on their selection and helping you narrow the choices down to maybe one or two beers. If you wander inside there are chairs and sofa's everywhere so there's a lot of seating space, not to mention some metal chairs on the front porch when its nice outside...but its summer in texas so the porch is nice for when its really late outside.
I felt that coming here last night the atmosphere here was really relaxing and it had a very Austin-y vibe going for it. Up until some guy in the shopping center next to the drafthouse opened his car door and started blaring a song where the only line I can remember was Imma smack tha bitch...
The only other thing to note is after 9 they set up a table right in front of the door on the patio and card people as they're entering but if you've already gotten a beer by then, then they won't card you.
I was excited to hear that my old college stomping grounds had introduced a beer garden which is the "New-to-Dallas" fad. I was also excited to hear it was in an old historic house. However, when I got there, the house hadn't really been transformed into a funky-hip beer establishment. It is essentially a front for an empty old house that has a room with 40 something beers on tap. The outside lacked any type of unique character or landscaping. If you feel this place is "super cool" then you haven't been outside of Denton and you especially haven't been to Austin.
That being said it is a start for Denton, and you can grab a great beer there, but I know there are some investors out there that could open a better establishment.
