  They have too few food items.  They need hamburgers and not just bar snack foods.  How about some type of sandwich choices. They need to check out the Pier Bar or Captain Freddy's for some expels of food choices.

  Yelp usually fails me not.... but reviews about the Drink are waaaay off.  
  
  I dropped by several times during a recent visit to ND and have absolutely no complaints about this place.  The bartenders and wait staff were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick to offer another pour.... plus they've got great drink specials, live music and lots of fun events.
  
  The Drink offers a nice assortment of bar food, including pizza, hamburgers, walleye fingers, chicken tenders and these funky little mini corn dogs.  I will admit that I had my qualms about ordering a pizza here, but I was pleasantly surprised.  It was *very* good... exceeded all expectations.  They also offer complimentary snack mix.  
  
  This place has a very laid back, relaxing vibe.  I absolutely loved the large outdoor patio overlooking the water.  
  
  Let's get drunk at the Drink.... Pond Water for everyone!

  My husband and I love this bar. I see all the bad reviews so maybe it's just us. It's quieter most nights and we love to come out and have a few drinks and play some pool. They have a really nice outside patio area on the water with fireplaces that are perfect to sit next to on chilly evenings. They have DJs a lot and quite a bit of room for dancing both inside and outside.
  
  I'll admit sometimes the service isn't great but the bar itself is really nice and it still gets five stars from me because it's my favorite in town. I know that you can order food there as well, normally bar appetizers and pizza. We have ordered food here before. Their shots are good.
  
  Try the pond water shot. It's my favorite :)

  I was also excited to check out the Drink in Bismarck, ND. That excitement lasted all of 5 minutes. The customer service was the worst I have ever seen. When the waitress was asked what kind of beers were on tap, she pointed to the bar instead of politely explaining them to us. It was pretty dark in the bar and there was no way the taps could be seen from where we were sitting. I will not be going back!

  I was pretty excited to check out the Drink at Lakewood in Bismarck, ND. We arrived on a saturday afternoon to have a drink before dinner. I liked the high cealings and the patio right on the river but this place has the absolute worst service I have recieved in a long time. There was about 10 guests and one bartender that was rude and ever so slow. It took about 10 min to get our drinks. How long does it really take to pour a beer. The bartender had horrible customer service skills. When my mom asked what kind of beers they had on tap she pointed as if we could see all the way over there from all the way on the other side of the bar. She should of known exactly what they had on tap and politely explained that to us. It's not too hard to figure the serving/bartender business out, the more polite you are to your guests the more tips you will make. it's that easy,

  Sadly, this was my first food service establishment experience in Bismarck, ND and boy, I was disappointed. Going to the "highly recommended for "new-in-towners" The Drink, I was expecting something a little more hip and put together. Other than the company I kept, it had a long way to go before it was a "to go to place"!
  
  Location: a 15-20 minute drive from anywhere in Bismarck.
  
  Decor: sports/martini/lake harbor bar?? Clearly, they have no idea who they want to be when they grow up and it showed. The upside was the they have a patio and it has a so-so view of a small harbor for boats, but they were playing 50 Cent's "Get Rich of Die Trying" CD and had a toothless bartender...what??? It's clean and has highly vaulted ceilings, but.... geez, what an airball.
  
  Food: popcorn, THAT'S IT. So I drive all the way across town to have a drink and a snack before dinner, and I'm presented with popcorn and a cheap martini? The cheap martini was good, but if I want to have another, I have to hail a cab because there's no way I'm driving all the way across town when the cops run rampant!
  
  Service: there were all of, hmmmm.... maybe 8 people in the entire place, including the 2 bartenders, and our server is running around the place with her head cut off, toothless and all and I just, ugh, not a great experience.
  
  The Drink has a long way to go before they get even one more star...
