Came here for taco Tuesday, so tacos are $3.50 each & you don't even get free chips/salsa....Really??? Maybe they should check into what the competitions doing. Also, happy hour ends at 6. I haven't been here in awhile & I don't see going back for taco Tuesday and/or if they do Thursdays.
I saw a lot of comments about the staff/bathrooms, neither were an issue for me tonight. Like I said I haven't been here in awhile & the DJ/crowd was cool previously, not sure if that's changed.
Good beer selection & lots of TV's
This is a nice small local Sports Bar that we often visit because of it's proximity to my boyfriend's home. We love to come here once in a while during weekends for some live music usually of local bands or sometimes when some friends would visit and want to grab some beers nearby.
The place has some decent food mind you. When we came here on St. Paddy's day, the corned beef and cabbage was amazingly delicious. Last weekend the french and in ranch dip was a bomb.
Want to play pool? They have it too.
The beer selection is good and we have not had problems with the service but the food has really gone downhill since becoming Delaneys. We used to always order the chicken nachos and sometimes go there just for that and now the nachos are terrible. They also revamped the Pub Bratwurst dog-or at least the bread-and it's not so good either. It also seems like the beef is lesser grade on the burgers as well. We've gotten fries that were so salty they weren't even edible and also cold fries. If they don't step the food next time we go I don't think we will patronize them anymore.
Review Source:Went here last night and there was four of us. They were kind enough to give us  2 menu's . We asked the server for a additional menu and she just smiled and wanted to know if we were ready to order, so I had to go to the hostess myself and get 2 more menus. I have to say we live around the corner from this place and I would love to be able to go more often but the service is beyond horrible. They smoke on the patio and it comes in through the open front door (I really do not want to smell this while I am attempting to eat.). I cannot comment on the food because we left after our beers because the service was so terrible. Too bad the management doesn't hire better staff because I think it would improve their overall rating. Also the bathroom is really in need of some cleaning and overhaul. Sorry I really wish it was better.
Review Source:I think this place is called Delaney's now. There was a terrible rumor that the owner was going to rebrand it "Daisy Dukes" which would have been a disaster. They have a great selection of beers, great specials and although the menu is not that different than it's been for several years, the quality seems to have improved. I also like the patio dining option.
Review Source:Any bar or sports pub serving mojitos is truly awesome to me! Â It's difficult to keep the mint fresh. Â I've had better food, as the nachos and appetizers weren't served very hot. Â I came here to attend my friend's 80's themed birthday party. Â Growing up in SF, I didn't hang out much in Dublin ;-) Â This little town has everything, true suburbs. Â Surprisingly, it was a fun time with a lively band singing lots of Journey songs. Â I broke out a sweat after they sang a Bryan Adams song. Â We had a fabulous time with the friendliest people of all ages! Â Parking is so much easier than the city.
Review Source:So, we like to come watch football on Sunday's because they have tons of TV's and a great beer selection.
I rated 1 star cuz you have to at least give one to write your review.
The bad things are, the service sucks, they don't have beer specials for football the food is cold, the bathrooms are dirty and under stocked, they sometimes leave the doors open while smokers are right by the door and smoke fills the air while you are trying to eat. Also, the servers seem to stand around and talk a lot. I really hope they get their shit together before next football season cuz it's really a great place with a ton potential. Â I wish the owner would concentrate on the reviews and make things right!
I went here a few days ago and first off what actually hold point value is that we were easily able to find a table.
Service varies throughout our visit and in the beginning was good yet seemed as if our waitress only heard what she wanted to and was very selective. Â so it seemed we only got portions of our selections that she thought were more important and at times would even receive items we didnt order.
The food quality was mediocre at best and i found that some of the plates used for sharing our apperizers, cups that our beverages were in and grossly enough the straw i used were either inadequately cleaned or used.
I was discusted by the entire experience and thought it was easy to find a table, i hardly wish this experince on anyone. Though i might add their beer selection was ok. Do not recommend
The Good:
- Awesome beer selection
- Good entertainment (bands, Karaoke, DJ)
- Great place to watch football (if you don't eat the food, see "The Bad" below)
The Bad:
- The Food
This is what really has me down, they've really screwed up the food situation. The "new menu" has removed some old favorites, things that used to be good (like the Nachos) are shadows for their former selves, and the food is not consistent from night-to-night.
Sadly, this all adds up to me just finding a new place to find pub grub because the food just no longer measures up to what they're asking you to pay for it. Will still frequent the place for the beer selection, but come time to eat I'm heading someplace else.
You know, it IS Dublin...but I was pleasantly surprised---ok, blown away--- by the beer selection on tap.
My band that I dance for played here with a moderately large crowd, and a mix of young and older. The stage was perfect size, and men were actually up and dancing with the women for most of the evening.
I think overall, a stellar representation of what Dublin is beyond stereotyping of it being boring.
Can't wait to come back in August!
**BUYER BEWARE AT HAPPY HOUR**
Decided to go to the Pub yesterday to get a beer, sit outside, and enjoy the nice weather. A real nice server came over and took our drink order. Upon her return she said, "It's happy hour. Can I get you a happy hour menu?" SURE! I've never been here for happy hour.
We were craving buffalo wings, which were not on the Happy Hour menu. But I noticed for $3.50 we could get fried zucchini. Sweet! So we ordered fried zucchini and popcorn chicken. Off our server went.
Not more than 2 minutes goes by and in the middle of my conversation with my friend, another server comes out and asks me to repeat my order. Caught me totally off guard but ok: Umm... fried zucchini and popcorn chicken. She asks if Appetizer popcorn chicken or meal? We say appetizer. Off she goes.
Food comes out. It's fine for Pub food. Been coming here 3+ years. Food is not bad. Beer is great.
We get the bill. This is where our "Happy Hour" becomes Not-So-Happy.
Our beers are billed happy hour price, but we were mistakenly billed $9 for Fried Zucchini. I flag down our new server to say it should have been the Happy Hour price. She says she will "try" to see what she can do. Huh? (Mind you I have never been here for happy hour - I don't know the difference between happy hour vs. appetizer version. Apparently they gave us an appetizer version) .
She comes back "Sorry. I tried. I really did. But the Manager said that SINCE YOU ATE THEM ALL, we have to charge you full price". WHAT?! I told her the other server knew it was the happy hour version.
Then she had the nerve to say "When I came out here to retake your order, you never specified 'happy hour fried zucchini.'" Double WHAT!?! #1. You caught me off guard having to REPEAT my order to a NEW server. 2. My beer is on the receipt as 'happy hour' and I NEVER said 'happy hour' before ordering my beer. 3. You're the server.... you should have asked me 'Happy hour or appetizer?' like you asked us about the popcorn chicken.
If she is telling the truth about asking the manager to discount it, and he/she said no, that is really bad customer service. In fact, tomorrow after the Good Guys car show a group of us planned on going to the Pub after the show. Not anymore. The Hopyard will get our business. Hope that $6 was worth it.
Wished we had our original server. Bet she would have got it right. Such a shame. I like it there and would give it 4 stars, but will boycott indefinitely after yesterday and will not recommend.
Went here after a marching band rehearsal. It was very near the rehearsal place. There was a scheduled local band to perform on stage which was why we were asked to pay a $5 cover charge. Boo!
On the positive side, they did have a bunch of beers. My fiancé and I ordered the ones we haven't tried. Perhaps he tried some before, but they were all new to me. I happily checked in Untappd and got badges. Teehee.
We had two tables connected to each other. It was a fun night of chit-chatting, dancing and being-chased-by-cougars. LOL Unfortunately, there was no waitress to take any orders from us. We had to walk to the bar to get our own beer. When we had empty glasses, that was the time I saw a waitress to pick up the glasses. Weird.
I'm giving this place two stars because of their list of beer. Perhaps I would've given it more if we were given the chance to order appetizers. But there was no service at all. And for $5, the band totally sucked. They didn't know how to put volume on the vocalist. All the volume was on the lead guitar. Annoying. Meh.
This place is pretty hilarious. I've been here to pretty much just watch people do karaoke. Seriously. One guy brings his own mic stand that is similar to that of Freddie Mercury. But now I'm reading that they DON'T do karaoke anymore. What the heck.
Food is decent. They've got this giant beer dispenser thing that hold a bunch of beer. It's loud and stuff. But it's a bar you could bring your kids to. Hahahaha
I wish I could say lots of good things here as I have talked with the owner. I would have spent some time talking with him instead of writing this review but he seems pretty busy and cant fault him for that.
They do have lots of great beer no doubt and they also have lots of tv's. The bathroom situation is in need of change as in one bathroom, multiple people end up sharing the same open area, which in itself isn't terrible but this one just isn't laid out well. Next, it is the most uncomfortable bar, I think ever, that i have sat at, which is why I took to sitting at a table. Those things aren't huge things however, the huge thing is the service. Only about 50% of the time did I have decent service. I think all the folks there are goood people and certainly nice enough but man, you just have to provide good service.
I come to Dublin a few times a year to visit family. The Dublin Pub is definitely one of my favorite haunts. If you are looking for an Irish Pub, but still want to watch lots of sports while drinking copious amounts of beer, then this is your place.
They have a great beer selection, though I must warn you, if you are close minded and/or are impossible to please (like Jon W below) you might bemoan the fact that, due to the Dublin Pub featuring a lot of regional beers and in so, many of those regional beers being IPAs, you might be stuck with an IPA-heavy selection, which for me is just fine. Still, there are ample other beer types available.
I really just love coming here during the NFL season and camping out early Sunday and catching all the games. Great food selection (including breakfast), plenty of TVs and friendly staff, not to mention that borderline hole-in-the-wall feel we all love in an Irish Pub. Book it.
We love this place! Â There is always something fun going on....
Tons of t.v.'s to watch the games. Â Live music. Dancing. Fighting events. Pool table. You name it ;)
Plus the food is off the hook! Â You have to try the Cilantro Chicken.... You will love it if you like spicy food!!!
There is enough beer on tap to float a battleship, but there is a good selection of wine too!
The new owner seems really nice too. Â He came up and introduced himself to us & asked us if we were regulars and asked us if we were happy with everything. Â We had been there a few times in the past, so I would not consider ourselves regulars, but we may be now! lol
We have been back there 5 times in the past month.... I can't get over the Cilantro Chicken!
Sadly, (as of May 2011), this place changed owners and they're not doing karaoke on Thursday anymore. Â Why? Â Why? Â Why? Â
As a pub, it's okay, but certainly not enough to draw me out just to hang out and drink. Â
They said there may be a DJ. Â Meh. Â Why bother? Â Why is it so hard to find karaoke in the Dublin/Pleasanton area?
Stopped by Dublin Sports Pub to give it another shot. I wasn't exactly sure why I never went back. I remembered that the bar wasn't comfortable which is something that will turn me off. Â I couldn't remember the food but that isn't good either.
If you are a beer drinker they have a huge variety of beers on tap and for $5 a beer it's a good price and even better during happy hour from 3-6 of $4. My problem is that they charge $8 for a Stolie and Soda water. Way too much when I can get one for 6-7 in the area and especially since I got a pint of Stolie and Soda in SF across from the ball park on Saturday for $7. I won't go back for a vodka but I would like to try their lunch. I'll stick to ice tea and drink elsewhere if the food works out. Â I want it to be great because it is local.
This place is awesome. It's totally our neighborhood pub. Love coming here to watch the game or if there's a big fight showing. There's plenty of seats for dining if you don't wanna sit at the bar. And they have tons of beers on tap! They always have some kind of specials going on too. Can you say happy hour?!
The food is pretty solid, nothing out of the ordinary. But like I said, it's just your neighborhood pub. But my oh my! They do, however, have great fries! It's so crispy and delicious! Burgers and fries or fish and chips are two of my favorites to order.
Some nights are karaoke nights. Other nights they have live bands playing on stage. Yes, on stage! It's totally a kick-it joint mixed with older folks and younger folks.
Very solid Pub. I am not a beer drinker or else I would probably like it more.
All the meals I have had here have been solid, yet not spectacular - club sandwich, Tri tip sando, and a burger. I also tried the chili, which is tasty but rich - its hard to finish.
very solid lunch spot, and plenty of TVs to watch games.
Yeah, I like karaoke (are you shocked, look at my default pic!) and this is a hoppin' spot to bring out your inner Stevie, Roberta, or Britney.
- And they have lots of beers on tap.
-And the characters that frequent here are a party enough just to watch. Bust out your motorcycle, frat boy polo, or slutty bad girl outfit and you're in.
-Plus, it reminds me of a local fave, The Englander of San Leandro, should I feel like driving 20 mins away from home for change of scenery.
Came to this place to catch a few football games. Â Very interesting bar in the East Bay Area. Â They have about six or seven television screens behind the bar. Â They also have an impressive selection of tap beers behind the bar.
To me, this is a typical neighborhood tap. Â With the right people you can have some great times, and if you come in by yourself, you might have a great time or a lousy one. Â The night I was here, there was a hard core drunken Raider fan that kept buying shot every time the Raiders scored a touchdown, he kept babbling about the Raider Nation and he couldn't understand why we didn't want to just go up and ask women to dance when the live band came to play. Â This is the same guy that couldn't understand why a group of lesbians wanted little to do with him.
Food was typical bar food, fried or grilled, good enough to line the stomach but not great. Â Bar itself has a bunch of tables and a stage for live bands up front, and classic pinball machines, a Ms Pac Man Machine and a pool table in back. Â
I was thoroughly entertained by my night here, but you do need to be able to "roll with it" in order to have a good time here. Â It is a neighborhhood watering hole where anything can happen.
My first time here and we came for a pre-dinner drink and to relax a bit. Don't expect a fancy bar or super tentative service. Â It literally is a place for you to lounge after a hard day at work. Â Some pluses:
-Wide selection of beer
-Full menu of snacks, desserts, bar food
-large space
-plenty of t.v.'s for sports viewing
-I saw kids in the area, which I'm assuming they were eating with their parents
-outside seating
-definitely low pressure kinda environment
The food is standard average pub fare. Nothing out of this world but nothing so bad you'd wanna toss it across the room. Â But really who comes to a sports bars to eat stellar food. Â Sports bars are for greasy food, adult sodas and your favorite team (and every other team that may be playing that day/night) on TV. Â They have plenty of TVs and a wide variety of beers, and some lower end scotches as well. Â In my book thats all a sports bar needs.
The turkey club and the chili are worth trying. The nacho is huge and can easily feed 2-3 ppl.
Service is average, sort of hit or miss depending on the crowd, server, etc.
The service has been TERRIBLE to downright attrocious the last few times I've been there. Â I used to wait tables, spent (too many) years in food service, so I know what good service is. Â I don't have unreasonable expectations, either. Â I can appreciate when someone shows an effort but just comes up short... or if they're really busy, or management didn't schedule well. Â
That said, this place has infuriated me one more than one occasion lately with their blatant disregard for customer service and complete lack of appreciation for the fact that I am TRYING to spend money at their crappy establishment! Â
Bad Experience #1: The bar is long. Â People usually gather at one end and it's impossible to get a drink if you're at the other end. Â So I positioned myself right next to the last person in the group sitting at that end, and patiently waited as the bartender served people that were sitting there before me. Â Someone had lined up behind someone else at the other end, and the bartender looked at me, acknowledging me, and served the person in back. Â That's fine, I'm not even worrying about who was there first at this point, because A) it's only one person, and B) Â the bartender acknowledged me and I know he'll be coming down my way. Â
Nope. Â More people kept coming up behind the other people. As he'd bring someone their beer and cash them out, somebody else would walk up and he'd serve them. Â He'd finish with them, then someone else would walk up, and he'd serve them. Â This happened 5-6 times. Â He looked my way a few more times so I know he knew I wanted something, but he kept serving these other people that were walking up! I decided I'm not spending $5 for a beer and would just get a water but couldn't even get that, so I finally had to ask my friend the KJ Â to get me a water!
Bad experience #2: Â I was sitting down at the far end of the bar all night. Â Jen was serving me great drinks, with good service. Â My glass had been empty for a bit and I wanted a beer. Â I turned to look her way, and she is telling the busser/dishwasher to "watch the bar" as she runs outside. Â There was a fight or something going on. Â Ok fine, I'll wait a minute. Â She wasn't coming back in after it cleared up, so I walked down to where the busser was talking with another employee who was sitting at the bar. I think he may be part of the family that owns it, not sure. Â I walk up to them, and neither of them acknowledge me. Â I wait, ok, finish your sentence or idea.... Â Nope.
I'm now standing next to them, looking right at them because they're not stopping their conversation to ask me what I want! Â I'm RIGHT next to them so they have to really try hard to ignore me and not look at me. Finally I had to just interrupt them! Â "Can I get a beer?" Â And the busser looks confused and the other one sitting down tells him which tap is the beer I wanted. Â
Ok, don't "watch the bar" if you aren't prepared to do anything behind it! Â Ugh! Â And the other one, maybe he was on a break or something, but I just don't understand, when a customer walks up to the bar and wants something, who sits there and refuses to acknowledge their presence and continues in personal conversation?! Â Certainly not someone that appreciates my business! Â
Later that same night, that employee that had been sitting at the bar, was then working behind the bar, and he looked at me and I asked him for a water. Â He never got it. Â I asked again, never got it. Â Finally I was able to get it from Jen, but I left absolutely appalled at the shitty customer service this place provides on a regular basis.
Bad Experience #3: Â We attended a live band gig there one night. Â Toward the end of the night, I want to say it was around 11:30 or 12, they turned on the lights! Â And started vacuuming and doing their closing sidework. Â The band played on, but they were understandably irritated that the place was driving out their audience. People got up and left because in general when bars turn on the lights it means it's time to go. Â But no, because we know the band, we mentioned it to them on our way out, and they said they had to go back in and do another set. Â WTF were they turning up the lights and cleaning up?! Â Not only that, but way earlier they'd completely turned OFF the lights in the back section... so that anybody driving by might see it dark and assume they were closed. Â
I mean, what kind of idiots do they have running this place, that they'd proactively try to DETER people from coming in, and those that are there, make them feel as if they had to leave?! Â
I will say that these have all been at night, and I have had decent service from the gentleman that bartends on weekDAYS. Â
And they do in fact have a good selection of beers, a full bar, and the food I've had has been good. Â I also LOVE that they have a patio which allows you to bring your alcoholic beverage outside and escape the noise and the crowd (not that it's very crowded, they've made sure of this)
Nice place to go to watch a game while enjoying a beer from their wide selection available on tap. Â
One of the few bars that I know of where the server won't grimace if you ask them to put a hockey game on. Â Handfuls of Sharks fans flock here during black out games. Â They have pretty much any sport's related subscription available for your viewing pleasure. You're guaranteed to be involved in a packed, yet enjoyable atmosphere for big soccer games.
Typical pub food, but service is hit or miss. Â Never rude, just sometimes forgetful and slow.
Karen: WE ARE LIVE ON THE SCENE!!!! WITH JOSH!!!
      JOSH TAKE IT AWAY!
* Josh is pausing to fix his toupee and fake anchorman mustache when he realizes he is live*
Josh: Well Karen, It appears the legendary Jason W. was seen eating at "The Dublin Sports Pub" where he ordered a Patty Melt, some fries, and a "Arnold Palmer" drink. It appears he might have had just a bit too much grease because he has gone into a food Coma and is inside the pub with his belly sticking out.. and... wait... let me see... OH.. he has a toothpick in his mouth and from the looks of it. It appears he is going out....
*Karen interrupts*
Karen: Josh, thank you! Do we know if he is OK?
*Josh looks into the camera and remembers the time his wife backhanded him during "guys poker night" at his house.. embarrassed to this day Josh can not take being owned.*
JOSH: Well This just in, the ambulance is here.... its official... Jason is in a food coma!
*Sirens*

And away I go on my journey into a food coma. Grease clogs my arteries and my intestine prepare themselves to digest cow meat and cheese. The essence of French fries lingers on my fingers like a young mans first time finding the hole. My belly now protruding out with so much force it feels like I ate 400 boxes of pop rocks and washed it all down with a 12 pack of cola. My lips are covered in butter and fat grease from the soaked Rye bread and allowing them to remain chap stick free for months to come. I belch and blow, the smell of the heavy patty melt comes running out and avalanching everything its way...
I will survive you... I will!
100th review!!! Â Here goes:
My husband's company threw him a goodbye party here last night because he is shipping himself off to the CHP academy. Â His boss bought pitchers of beer (yay, Blue Moon!) and assorted fried foods. Â I love all fried food, but I would say theirs were mediocre in presentation and taste, but still edible and greasy enough to give my lips a beautiful sheen.
Many reviews pinpoint the lacking service but, I, on the other hand, received fabulous service! Â Maybe it was my shiny lips? Â I had my 15-month old baby in tow and the server was happy to oblige us with free crackers and water. Â That might sound paltry to some, but it is a lifesaver to mommies.
And let's not forget the good old days back in 2001/2002 when this place was the Firehouse. Â Oh, the drinks were aplenty and the karaoke was abaddy. Â And sorry to that guy who I kissed outside and then promptly threw up near.
I've been coming to this building for many a years only to find the business name to keep changing. Â I first came here back in the day when it was Lyons Pub, then it was Firehouse Pub (or something), then it was briefly the second location for the Englander (San Leandro) then to this somewhat new incarnation, The Dublin Sports Pub. Â I have to say that the only staple that remained through out all the entities, and the only reason I keep coming back to this building, is their enormous selection of beers on tap. Â You can get anything from a crisp Pilsner to a spicy yet refreshing German Hefeweizen to a rich and tangy Belgium to a blow your face off with hops California IPA.
However as much as I love beer, my recent observations from my last 3 visits here, (usually a year or so apart) is a bit of a disappointment for me. Â Upon entering this place, the room just smells. Â It reminds me of a frat house where beer is constantly spilled onto the carpet and is never really cleaned. Â An old beer stank if you will. Â I first noticed it 3 years ago and it has gotten worse over the years. Â I don't know if its bar rot or that they should just replace that shitty carpet with mop-able tile, but hey, I can't be the only one that notices this.
I'd try the food here, but not when it smells like that. Â A little unappetizing to say the least. Â The employees are real nice however, and like I said, their beer selection is hard to beat. Â It's just too bad I opt to breathe through my mouth, to enjoy my time here.
Great spot with tons of beers on tap! Â Whoa! Â This place was a great place for the birthday girl that wanted to go beer tasting. Samplers or 4 beers from their long list was only $4.25. Â They have a great menu of salads, greasy appetizers, cocktails and other items. Â Very impressed with the selection, the quality for a sports pub and the service. Our server Holly handled the increasing party of 16+ with separate check and all other tables without freaking out. Â She was great. Â And she was also kind enough to take a minute and take a photo of the big group for me. Â To separate the checks, she wrote "Caesar Prawn, Nice Lady" on my ticket. Â Ha! Â
There are a bunch of televisions to view all sorts of sports, a jukebox and a small, raised dance floor. Â Good times. Â Will be back! Â Mark, one of the managers is also very kind.
3 for the beer . Â Many beers on tap to choose from. Â Almost too many in my opinion. Â There are too many that it may take a yr for them to finish some kegs. Â Plus if someone doesn't order a certain beer that often, then half of your beer is stale since it is purging the old beer in the line..
If you go my advice, stick to a beer that is popular. Â aka sierra nevada!
OK, another difficult star rating. Â The food would give this place a 3 star rating. Â Nothing really wrong with it, just very typical brewery food. Â I love the greasy foods on occasion, but this is certainly not the place to go if you are on a diet! Â That said, it's just very typical brewery fare. Â
However, I gave the place 4 stars!! Â Well, let me tell you, the beer is where this place rocks. Â They've got a huge selection and even my favorite Rasputin's Imperial Ale on tap. Â Not for the faint of heart. Â Also, they let me smoke my cigar at outside seating so that was pretty cool too.
Overall this place is not bad. Â They got the TV screens, the good beer, and the food you expect from a place like this. Â I'll go back to knock a few back.
After being a stupid mook and nearly walking into a flying dart, I quickly learned that this place was not just a bar stool parking lot. Â The guy throwing the dart almost yelled at me until he got a look at my ridiculously low cut top - then HE apologized...YAY BREASTESES!!! ( I apologized, too. It was my fault, after all.)
There are tables inside and outside and dart boards and a ton of beer choices. Â There are televisions everywhere showing all kinds of sports, including a screen so big, the man that bought it must have the smallest willy on the planet and is trying to make up for it. Â I wonder if that's his ridiculously huge lifted 4x4 in the parking lot, too?... Â
The food isn't bad, and when it's busy here, it's got more guys than girls, SCHWEET!
Let me put a big, fat asterisk on this entire review because I had been wine tasting in Livermore before stopping here for more drinks and, oh yeah, dinner. Â So, you see, I was good and sloshed before walking through the door. Â I have a feeling I might give this place three stars otherwise, but I was feeling good the evening I visited, so it gets bumped up to four.
It was recommended to us by our friends who live in Dublin who come here regularly. Â Service was great. Â The staff must be used to putting up with drunk asses. Â I had two cider drinks here (pretty sure they were apple cider ... my memory is a bit hazy from that night) that were yummy. Â My friend and I shared an order of fish and chips, and they were kind enough to separate the meal on two plates without us even asking. Â They even cut one of the fish pieces in half so we had equal amounts.
I recall the bathroom being adequate and clean and the prices not being too high. Â But then again, I have no recollection how much money I tossed on the table before going home to curl up on the couch and fall asleep while watching "Clue" for the 100th time.
I like the Englander. Â This is a typical suburban pub. Â It's got good food. Â Their bacon cheese burgers are awesome. Â You have to love that thick cut bacon. Â That's the only way to go. Â Pair that with a nice Boddington's Pub Ale and life gets a whole lot better. Â
The only issues I have ever had with this place is that the service is sometimes hit or miss. Â There are some really good folks on the wait staff there. Â Unfortunately, there are also some real stinkers too. Â
If there is a home game or a major sporting event, it's gonna be crowded. Â It just will be.
Normally a place like this would get a 4 or 3.5 but they allow the dog and have real English food for my English South African husband so it get's an extra point for that.
Oh yeah dogs on the patio only due to health code but that's the rule in California (sorry for any french or others that are used to bringing the pet anywhere).
Oh they have the normal American bar food stuffs too!
