I actually recovered my Yelp account to write this review.
I was DESIGNATED DRIVER for my girlfriend while she was out with her friends.
The owner of this bar was EXTREMELY rude when I requested a water because I wasn't drinking.
The conversation went as follows (Mind you, it's hard to convey tone through text.):
"Can I get you guys anything?"
"Yeah, Could I get a water please?"
"We serve liquor in this establishment."
"I'm aware of that. I'd like a water."
"We serve liquor. So, can I get you anything?"
"I'm good then."
We left right afterwards.
We get it, you're the owner... that makes you top shit. Who cares if you're missing out on $2 because I didn't want a drink? I will not be stepping foot into this trash establishment again. This isn't the first horror story I've heard about this bar. Seems to me you couldn't give a damn whom you piss off, throw out, etc.
Do yourselves a favor. Stay far away from this bar. The owner will just treat you like you're scum. Go visit one of the other many bars in this town. You can basically spit in any direction and hit one, and they'll probably treat you a whole lot better, too.
The beer is okay and pricing is average.
The bar is closed off and with no windows, kind of makes the place seem a bit stuffy. The bar is a long pirate ship which is odd and interesting enough.
As far as the crowd, look for hipsters and the regular Street fighters and drama crowds.
Music: they have a jukebox but it does not work... boo, they play from a laptop and its a set play list of the usual bar music which is pretty mundane. My thoughts are take the Jukebox out!
On a plus note, they have free popcorn if available.
The Owner is a bit strange, she approached me at the bar and confronted me about my review left on this site, now i am updating the review to make it one star.
She kicked me out of the bar because of my bad review. The strange part is why she would kick out the person who left the review when he is the only person to change the review. You think she would want to be nice and talk about the review and give me the option to update my original review as the bar changed quite a bit over the last two years.
