There's a peanut-sesame wonton dish that's absolutely delicious. The sushi is all great as well, Chinese food is on point especially the the AA vegetables and eggplant tofu dish. For the hipster ice cream connoisseur/REAL ASIAN, they also have green tea, red bean and ginger ice cream - the last one has actual chunks of candied ginger in it. Also, the staff provides service that makes you feel like you're home. For an often homesick college kid from Asia, there's no better place to eat than Edo.
Review Source:I love the fact that there is good Chinese food and good Japanese food in one place. Â The eggplant dish, fried rice, and tuna/avocado rolls are amazing. Â I went after the hurricane and clearly the restaurant is clean, food is fresh and up to par since they were open immediately after the aftermath of the storm (health inspectors came the next day). Â However, the best part of Edo is the service-- the sushi chefs, waitress/waiter are SO kind and attentive... a simple thing like that made my dinner experience so much better.
Review Source:In prior orders I typically just pick up which they had decently priced sushi with alright quality, but they were better than East Sushi. I've gone there now twice for dine in and the wait staff was incredibly rude and inattentive for small requests such as more water. They might be better for dinner service, but was completely turned off by the customer service experience.
Review Source:We went to edo sushi for the first time about 15 years ago and it was fantastic. We were regulars and went at least twice per week. About 3years ago, I requested no MSG as I'm allergic. I hate to think that a joke was played on me but I got so sick, I couldn't lift my head off the pillow for 3days. I would understand if I were an obnoxious American, but I truly respect all walks of life. I haven't been back ever since and have also kept my family away as we sometimes went together. Food is recently uninspiring so I agree with most comments posted. Fresh food shouldn't rely on chemicals nor preservatives so I'm lost as to why they choose to use these type of ingredients. It's just old fashioned thinking in a new world.
Review Source:Great sushi! The presentation was beautiful for the vegetable roll ( and they surprisingly didn't charge for extra ginger) and the shrimp tempura roll was a huge success. The entrée with chicken and broccoli was delicious as well, but the iced tea serving size was huge. Overall, very good.
Review Source:I will start by saying - I LOVE sushi and I have had a lot of it in my day.
With that said - if you want to spend the evening in the bathroom getting sick or feeling as though you are going to hurl - by all means stop by Edo's. Â If you enjoy fishy, chewy seaweed in your rolls, then Edo's is the place for you! Â The fish is bad. Â It's not fresh. Â It smells. Â The place is dirty - **warning, if you love this place, stop reading now** - I have seen on more than one occasion, a kitchen mop in the back of the restaurant (driving the back way behind the shopping center) standing up outside with fish hanging off of it. Â No joke. Â NO THANK YOU!!!
If you are looking for sushi in the area - go to Sumo - it is literally down the street on Main Street Pennington and is GOOD sushi! Â If you are up for a little more of a drive - head to Lambertville to Ota-Ya for really GREAT sushi! Â
Say NO to Edo!!
One of the better choices in sushi in the area.
The wait was respectable, which is usually the problem with sushi places.
The sushi was delicious. I do not recall the exact name of it but it was one of the specialty rolls.
They had the typical American Chinese take out menu items as well. Not sure why, but I'd recommend getting sushi.
Despite the fact that I LOVE sushi and Asian food, I am not a fan of Edo's. Â In fact, I haven't been here for years even though I live in the area. Â
Maybe it's changed since I was here last, but I feel like it's dirty. Â Another issue that still stands out in my mind is chewy seaweed in the sushi. Â Chewy seaweed? Â That happened on a couple of occasions. Â
I prefer to go elsewhere.
This is our "local" sushi bar, and we live in the Yardville NJ area. Â About a 25 minute drive without traffic, but still the only place we like to go. Â The family and staff that run Edo is wonderful and always attentive and helpful. Â Portions and prices are reasonable, and the chef is always open to be creative if given the chance - and it's not too busy. Â Nice selection of American/traditional Chinese food as well, and the specials board always looks interesting. Â I think it's BYOB too.
Only complaint, I wish they had some booths and not just tables/chairs.
