Just like I remembered, before the move from Blue Island. Same salsa, same chips, same red sauce and cheese lathered on top of their burrito and enchilada plates. Huge burritos and taco dinners (see pic). Without asking, our server offered vegetarian beans instead of the common chorizo infused re-fried variety. Friendly service, and fair market prices provided an enjoyable lunch experience reminiscent of cherished childhood memories. If I make it back it the area, I'm sure to keep it in mind.
Review Source:Been going here for over 20 years and its almost exactly the same... Almost! Â Always order the Queso Fundido with Chorizo and its fabulous-- always slightly burned on top and large portion. Â The chips & salsa are the same as they've always been.. I think the chips are great- salsa is average. Â The BIG PROBLEM here is that they stopped using the skirt steak that they used to use? Â Not sure what it is now but it's no good.. Ruins every dish!! We had a spectacular waitress and drinks are priced just fine..They haven't been there for 25 years for nothing! GTFJD
Review Source:I liked the menu options - there are quite a lot of items to pick from. You seat yourself and I think we picked the wrong seat across from the bar because it was loud with the people who were sitting there. Â Either way - the chips & salsa were just okay - nothing special. Service was also just okay - nothing to write home about. Â And the food was mediocre. Â Pricing not bad, but there are much more decent Mexican restaurants to try than this one.
