I became a fan the moment this manager decided to give me a Safari Card a few years back. Â That's an automatic 15% discount during lunch! Â Aside from that, you get those occasional email offers for Buy 1 Get 1 Free Entree and the like.
If you don't want to go over their extensive menu, just get the Quick-Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. Â I am no salad fan but this one just blows me away.
Why do people like this place? Ok, first I wanted a drink made non-alcoholic. It took the waitress 20 minutes to bring my drink blaming the manager who wanted to charge me the same as the alcoholic version. Ok, they have a mocktail menu, why is this drama? Why would it take 20 minutes? Pretty sure she forgot to put in the drink order.
Then my salad which was suppose to have a side of crab put on it came with a side of shrimp. Ok, kitchen makes mistakes but then it took over
12 minutes to get my salad and in the meantime, everyone else finished their meal! Why would a salad take so long to make?
Then our child got a free sundae, it took another 15 minutes to get that and it arrived MELTED bc I think the waitress forgot it again.
Finished off the horrible meal with the waitress saying,"Oh and happy birthday you don't look well as old as your birthday" it was so random and so crazy, my husband and I couldn't stop laughing.
What a horrible meal. No birthday sundae. No manager giving us a discount from the shitty long wait and all the mistakes. I'm pretty sure this place will close down soon. How could it not with mediocre food, mediocre service, and horribly long waits oh and no. It was not busy. We came in and it was actually pretty dead. We were surprised but then maybe now we aren't surprised!
DON'T GO TO THIS ELEPHANT BAR.
I was down in the Dublin area visiting for a weekend a while back and saw this place. It wasn't here when I lived in the Bay Area 5-6 years ago. Seems a little upscale for Dublin, but hey things are looking up. Didn't figure Dublin for a Hooters either! I guess this is a chain or sorts, not a big one like Chile's or anything. Seems very nice and safe in a suburban way. We were seated right away. We didn't have to wait like many of the other reviews did. We started with beers and placed our orders. There are quite a few items on this menu and being the first time its a bit hard to choose. We started appetizers of the Lettuce Wraps. ($8.95). It didn't taste exactly like the traditional Chinese version. It had sort of a tropical flair and Mac nuts. Seems everybody is on the chicken lettuce wrap bandwagon! I guess I was overwhelmed by the rest of the menu, so I stayed safe and had the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger ($9.95) and my BF had the French Dip. This was dinner but somehow we ended up with sandwiches! Our food was actually very tasty. My cheeseburger was cooked as ordered (medium) and the fries were hot and tasty. The french dip was just as expected, no weird surprises. French roll with lots of roast beef and au jus to dip in. My BF seemed happy as he munched away. The service was predictable and not too bad on the upsells. I would come here again and wish one would open in Reno!
Review Source:Ok let this be known I am not a picky eater and l almost can find something to eat any restaurant I go to. But not the case with this place, years ago I really liked the place. I ordered some Asian dish and you could of sworn it came out of a box! Bland, tasteless and slimy!! Yuck. Another time I ordered some sliced beef sandwich, you could tell the meat had been microwaved! Again tasteless, tough. The bread was stale, how does the cook not see this! Lots of choices in the area, won't be going back anytime soon.
Review Source:My favorite restaurant by far because of Their teriyaki chicken. I have never ordered anything besides that here so Im not sure about the rest but my family and boyfriend are a fan of other platters. The prices and deals they have are awesome and if you give them your email address you get coupons a lot! It's more of a dressy type of restaurant but you can go in casual as well. The servers are friendly, but the wait can sometimes get long so make a reservation! You can also get a to go menu which has a bunch of their best platters as well.
Review Source:The service there was nothing to write home about. Wasn't getting a server to come to my table so I walked up to the bar after 10 min. of waiting and still no one asked to help me. Finally after about 15 min. a drink came, but it was too late, my first impression was terrible servers.
Review Source:The kid's meals are great (rib, quesadilla, mac n cheese combo with chicken strips).
Food: Korean chicken/rib BBQ was good.
Orange Shrimp had good taste, but a bit oily.
     Mudpie, excellent.
Caesar salad is a better choice than garden green (the lettuce was getting a bit old where you can see the pink on the edges.
Service: Very good
Ribeye steak was dry and not tasty. Tasted like cheaper quality beef definitely not prime or choice just regular. When you eat out you should get way better. I can make better steak  Service, spinach was good. Sweet potatoe fries overcooked and dark blackish, soggy, and thin. This was takeout.
Review Source:The wait was about 10 minutes, I didn't mind. But the thing there was only us waiting and I saw many tables open. Our waiter was really nice. I got the lettuce and chicken wrap, I forgot the name. It was good, but they only gave us 3 lettuce wraps. Like really? I would expect more. I got the Mongolian beef. It was good, but the meat had too much salt and sauce. It was too much for me. But overall it was a okay, not the best.
Review Source:I've only been here for happy hours. Food is okay (my fav is minced chicken wrap - not sure if that's the name on the menu) .... but their house margarita is very cheap and delish!!! Also, bloody marry is good one to try as well!
Oh! btw - i LOVE the fact that this place has Sriracha Sauce... bc I am OBSESSED!
Food was amazingly fresh, hot, fast and delicious! Â Great menu to choose from! Â I'll just have to come back to try more delicious items from the menu. Â This spot get's packed at 6 pm, so go in early! Â I noticed they get you in and out with no fuss. Â They got their customer service down too! Â Aces for this Elephant Bar!
Review Source:This is my first time to Elephant Bar and it was great! We got the shrimp scampi, garlic noodles, seared ahi opener and they were speedy and done well! The portions were nicely sized for the price too. Also a great place to go especially at night when everything else is closed! Will definitely be coming back.
Review Source:Went in yesterday to grab a late lunch around 3 pm. The restaurant was pretty empty and got seated right away. We ordered the the following:
Macao Soup           3 stars nice broth
Asian Lettuce Wrap     4 stars good portions enough lettuce
Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi  4 stars very good fish was moist and flavorful.
The service was goo and the food came out fast. There were not a lot of orders to contend with.
We dined here to help fundraise for Dublin High's lacrosse team. We sat at the bar and ordered from the bar menu, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
The service could have been faster (two moms with two ticking time bombs - a.k.a. Â two year olds). Â However, the bar was pretty packed so it's forgivable.
We ordered all our food from the Happy Hour menu, which was a great deal! Â We ordered the Three Cheese Macaroni ($3.50) for each of the kids, and they ate all or most of it, so it's kid-approved. Â The Buffalo Wings we ordered to share were okay, a bit too spicy - not bad, just nothing to rave about. Â I ordered the Classic "Big E" Burger ($5.50), and I have to say, it was one of the better burgers that I've had in a long time. Â It was a very thick patty, it was VERY juicy, and it had a very hearty beef flavor. It was definitely a steal at $5.50 - it was big, the meat was substantial, and the bun, tomato, and thinly sliced onions were perfect. Â I had it with a side salad, and I'm glad I passed on getting fries instead because the burger was so filling. Â My husband and friend both ordered the Korean BBQ Beef Tacos ($6.50), and those looked delicious and they both enjoyed their dishes.
I didn't expect much, but left being a fan. I'll be back!
I feel like places that are fusion always suck because they never excel at one type of food, they are just less than average compared to the original.
I came here plenty of times but have forgotten what I ate so I will just be writing about their HH.
HH is quite crowded, and there were lots of people here. Â Keep in mind that Dublin is the kind of town where you will be likely to bump into teachers, old classmates, and people of that sort. Â My friends and I saw at least 5 of our high school teachers here. Â
Their mojitos were $4, margaritas $3, strawberry lemonade $2, and the other HH drinks were all $5 or under.
The spinach artichoke dip didn't taste bad, but there was barely any artichoke in there. Â The presentation of the dish left much to be desired, but it looked like they scooped it out of the pan and then just dumped the dip onto the plate. Â
It took almost 30 min for them to come out with a chicken quesadilla...
Their sweet potato fries are pretty typical, and taste much like the swt potato fries everywhere else.
This is not a bad place to go for HH or a quick meal, if you don't care that the food is mediocre.
Nice place to eat!
Went here for dinner. Â Hostess was friendly and told us about their specials. Â Server dude was awesome! Â I didn't want rice so server substituted sliced fruits for me - Cool! Â Place was clean. Â Very kool theme inside.
Eats: Fire grilled lemon garlic chicken breast (11.00)
Chicken was hot and fresh - seasoned very well. Â Tasted yummy!
Gripes...
They forgot to give us utensils - so we had to ask for them..o well.
Would come back! Â Outstanding service all around.
Well, my wife and I are torn on this review. Â I would leave 4 stars and she would leave 2. Â So we compromise and meet in the middle for 3. Â
Service was ok so nothing to Yelp about there. Â We got our drinks, we drank our drinks, and we got more drinks. Â Only tie up was when we needed napkins -- we had to ask. Â Not a big deal. Â
We went for happy hour and got some of the happy hour stuff. Â My wife got the Mac n' Cheese and Garlic Bread and I got the Big E burger and Fried Shrimp. Â I got a Budweiser (I still spell that to the frongs chanting Bud - wei - ser) to drink and she got the Sangria. Â
Ok -- the two star part. Â The Mac and Cheese was not that good. Â The cheese was not really melty and it looked like someone had thrown some bread crumbs on top (nothing special). Â The garlic bread was ok but the cold marinara sauce was not good at all. Â
Now for the four star part -- The sangria was awesome (probably 6 stars). Â The burger was cooked the way I wanted and was juicy good. Â The fried shrimp were pretty good too. Â
And the prices were great --- less than 40 bucks for everything (doubled up on drinks). Â
We had a good time and will most likely go back. Â If you are out, are a little dressed up, and want something pretty good, this is a good place to go.
This place is really hot and cold for me. We had the sampler starter, the sweet potato fries, coconut shrimp and chicken strips were good but the artichoke dip was pasty and congealed quickly. The salads were like the kind you get out of a bag. My three shrimp meal had two kinds that were great and then the garlicky/grilled shrimp which were so bad I didn't finish them.
My son had both the cheeseburger and the kraft mac-n-cheese from the kids menu (he swam that day so wanted to eat a lot). He didn't like the mac, how do you get Kraft  mac wrong? The cheeseburger was "eh, OK" in his words (he does like real cheese burgers, not the ones you get at the golden arches) so I give him some credit there.
My wife and daughter both ordered the tempura salmon roll, my daughters showed up with dinner, my wife's showed up 20 minutes later. Â Ordered at the same time, but arrived when the rest of us were most of the way through our meals. Â Lucky for us she had it with a soup which showed up before our meal and the appetizer we had so she wasn't left hungry.
Every time we come there is something good and something bad. Our visits come further and further apart, I don't know when we will come again.
I went here on a Thursday night for an after work social. Â They had a sign at the front and led me to the room which was nice, no hunting for people. Â
We had drinks and appetizers: flat-bread pizza, calamari, sweet potato fries, and lettuce wraps. Â The servers were good about bringing our drinks and remembering who got what.
Overall a pleasant experience!
Went here to treat one of the kiddos in my life and we had a great time. The service was great and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I got a shrimp dish that I can't remember the name of but it was great! I think it was the sweet and spicy shrimp, but not sure. Anyways, it was shrimp with veggies with a side of rice. I was actually amazed at home many shrimp were served. Plus the combination of veggies with it were great. Nice with enough crunch left to make sure you knew they were veggies. I rice was standard white rice but they have a brown rice option.
The kiddo got a kids meal burger and I thought the options for it were great. She got fries, drink and a kids sundae included! I got a mini indulgence wonton sundae. It was a little blah, but I think that's just because I have a higher expectation of my ice cream. The stuff they used had too many ice chips in the ice cream and was a pretty bland vanilla flavor.
All in all the service was great, the food was great with exception of the ice cream and I would recommend the place.
Never again. Â NEVER again. Â
I had not been to Elephant Bar for years until the other night and was excited to return. Â This is one restaurant that I always said was part of a chain but fine to eat at, always dependable.
NOT.
Our dinner was a disaster from the beginning. Â The service, the food, the fact that our plates were left on the table at the end of the meal without even being questioned or acknowledged -- it was all too much. Â Or actually, too little.
Came here for Happy Hour yesterday. Sat at the bar and had the shaggy haired bartender make me whatever he thought he made the best- turns out it was a Long Beach and it was SO Yummy. (Like a long island but no coke and add fruit and cranberry)
Ordered some Buffalo Chicken Tenders and Fries which were also satisfying and chit chatted with the bartender some more who was super knowledgeable and nice. Normally I dislike my waiters here so I was glad to see how well trained the bartender was.
Me and my daughter went there last night, We were sat quickly, great, and our server came over and took our order, great, and 4 minutes later our food was there??
I am allways suspicious of food done way too fast? I was asked white or fried rice?
I chose fried, never told it was $2.00 xtra? My corn was cold and the ribs you could tell were sitting under heat for a while! The meat fell off the bone just picking them up.
My daughter had the teriyaki chicken salad and it definately was not treiyaki just grilled. I'm done!
It's a chain restaurant and one that I usually frequent although I have only been to this location twice. Â But this evening, I have to say that it was terrible. Â My brother-in-law ordered his burger medium-rare. Â It came out practically uncooked. Â There was sear on the outside but the inside was RAW!!! Â The server took it back but then charged us for the replacement burger! Â Can you believe that? Â And they didn't even get the replacement burger correct. Â This time, it came out super well-done. Â It was so overcooked that my brother-in-law could not eat it. Â He said it was disgusting. Â
The manager was kind enough to comp us a free dessert. Â That was nice. Â We didn't ask for it but he offered and my little niece immediately jumped up and said yes. Â So when the server came with the bill, she said that the dessert and the burger were taken care of. Â I was surprised about the burger. Â It's not my style to ask for comps but I thought this was a nice gesture since the burger was not eaten. Â
When I checked the bill, guess what? Â They charged for the rare burger and the over-done burger and then backed out one charge. Â So we still had to pay for a burger. Â No one ate the rare burger and honestly, it was gross to look at. Â No one ate the over-cooked one either. Â To say that they took care of the burger was not cool. Â When I pointed out to her that I was charged for two burgers, she seemed perturbed and said that I got credit for one. Â I was going to say, well we only ordered one burger and you guys couldn't get it cooked properly but again, it's not my style so I let it go and we paid. Â However, this server and this particular dining experience was terrible. Â It would behoove this chain to make some adjustments and not charge guests when they return items that are not properly cooked. Â Horrible practice.
This is the go to place that I visit whenever Im in Dublin area for happy hour. You simply cant beat their pricing and menu at happy hour since a lotta the stuff is half off...come on..
seriously? Why dont you just order...EVERYTHING on their. Â Throw in some drinks and its just a good recipe for fun! I think its great because the people are very welcoming on the chances that Ive been. Â The service is fast and they seem cheery. Â Definitely will come back whenever I have the chance.
Overall 4.25S
Food: 4S
Service: 5S
Ambiance: 4.5S
Disclaimer: I am not a big fan of chains/franchises. Â On that note, this is near the top of the chains that I do go to.
I don't know how this franchise got it's name but it's an unforgettable one. Â I've been to this location and the one in Emeryville. Â The service and ambiance of this location blows the Emeryville one out of the water.
Happy Hour Favs: 1) Artichoke Dip 2) Wok-Fried Chicken Wrap 3) Coconut Shrimp Skewers
Happy Hour Fav Drinks: Everything! I honestly mix up every thing, I don't like drinking anything twice in-a-row or in one night, haha. Â The drinks are well mixed! and the prices is SUPER WELL PRICED! Yes, this is how a man does it!
I was with there with my friend Dustin and brother Lee for happy hour last Friday and the new manager Bryan came out to randomly check on us, maybe because we were a bit on the energetic side. Â We chatted up a bit and he was one cool guy. Â That was a first at a chain/franchise for me. Â For that moment, it made me feel like it wasn't.
My friend Bao loves Elephant Bar's Happy Hour. If he could live here, he would. I, actually think he does in the back Alley some evenings, haha. Â
Overall, great place for good Happy Hour food and drinks.
The best part of this place is the atmosphere...it clean, it's trendy, and yet it's still family friendly! those are the only positive things that I can say. about this place The service was below average and the food was even further behind.
let me start with the service. I sat at the bar, and despite there being 2 bartenders and a plethora of empty space, the guys behind the counter were running around as if there were 50 people lined up. the bartender who did finally spare some time seemed a bit rushed and surly. i'll commend him on his quick knowledge of the beer listing and subtly promoting the upsizing of my beer, but he didn't do a whole lot of checking-in during my meal. i'm not asking someone to hover over me while i eat, but given that this place is supposed to be known for their friendly service i was a bit surprised that he wasn't a bit more engaged.
now for the worst part of the experience, the food. I ordered pretty quickly and the food came out in a matter of minutes. This is where my disappointment really began. I ordered the seared ahi tuna with white rice, mango salad, and mixed veggies. based on the descriptions and pictures in the menu i was expecting something fresh and lean. in actuality, i go the following: tuna that was seared but rubbery, mango salad that looked more like guacamole (yes, it was all mashed together and served in a big lump), and veggies that look like they came out of a can (think school cafeteria style). sadly, the plain white rice was the most edible portion of the meal. due to my hunger at the time, i tried to force myself to eat as much as i could. thankfully i only got half way through as the dish caused me to lose my appetite.
in summary, i was sadly disappointed in this place. my expectations were high, but in the end the food really killed the experience. i'm not likely to go there anytime soon and would recommend that others don't as well.
My mom talked me into coming here. I think she just wanted me to drive so she could have Long Island Iced Teas.
She talked me into it. Â She also talked me into the Ahi Tuna. Â Chain restaurants that have been known in the past to use old food, is not a place Id eat raw fish. Â But dammit, she talked me into it and quite frankly it was pretty good.
We only had apps pretty much. Â The Global App Sampler is a perfect meal to split for two. Â Especially if one of you is downing cocktails like Dean Martin. Â It comes with an Italian like Bruchetta, Coconut Shrimp, Guacamole & Chips and Chicken Tenders.
My son loved the Chicken Tenders and Guacamole. Â I liked the Coconut Shrimp. Â Its all your usual fried foods.
Topping it off was a sampling of the Wok Fried Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Â Lettuce Wrap! Lettuce Wrap! Â (If you get that extremely obscure joke you will win a prize from me.)
You really cant go wrong with the Lettuce Wraps. Â If you have a little eater the Chicken is perfect for them to eat with their hands. Â He loved it as did I.
Mom downed about 3 Long Islands and I had a carbo-coma going on. Â We went home and took a nap.
I would never choose to come here on my own but when big momma is thirsty and hungry Ill let it slide.
