After phoning Erbelli's Stadium road site (the one closest to my house) I was told that they do not deliver to my area (despite my protestations that I had checked their web site before I phoned to insure that they do deliver to my area). The young man with whom I spoke talked to his manager twice and each time confirmed that there is no delivery to my area.
Why does their web site say they do deliver to my zip code area from the Stadium restaurant site and Erbelli's on Stadium say that they do not? Â They even suggested that I try their Portage site which is much further from where I live and which I already knew did not deliver to my area.
I wrote a review 5 years ago I see, and gave three stars, and I don't see a way to edit that. I would give it 5 stars now as they've definitely corrected the issues we had those years ago with regularly having the wrong thing delivered to us. We always get what we expect here. It is expensive pizza, but it's really good, so if you're in the mood for really good pizza and are prepared to spend a bit for it, go here. If you're looking for cheap pizza, this isn't the place. And there are some other good locally owned pizza places nearby. Not quite as good, but much less expensive.
Review Source:I came here recently while visiting my Dad. Â I grew up in Portage, just down the street from this place, too bad it wasn't around back then. Â We went there on a Sunday night and the place was pretty busy, which is usually a good sign.
The place is fairly small with both booths and tables and a very small outdoor seating area. Â We were seated right away and the service was pretty good. Â I really enjoyed the pizza (original crust), the crust was just the right thickness and consistency and the toppings were really good. Â I definitely recommend the "Q it Up" fire chicken. Â It's got a little kick, not much, but enough to have some flavor. Â And the sauce is very good, rich and tasty.
Overall, they make a very good pizza!
The menu is very large with a lot of options.
I would definitely go back!
My second review as i go there quite often .And Ive increased to 3 stars. Â Got the xlarge thin crust hand tossed pizza with sausage and pepperoni. Â Toppings were a little light, but the pizza overall was tasty. Somewhat Spicy pizza sauce as usual.
Used the online ordering for the first time and the pizza was ready on time!! YAY!!! Have had it late a few times in the past. Â I am confused as to why I entered my credit card info(as I had to go find my wallet) and then had to provide and pay again. Would like it to work properly if I prepay when I order. Â Was able to enter customized instrux online so that is good.
If you are looking for a delicious pizza that will have you craving for more I suggest you visit Erbellis's Pizzeria. Â They have two locations: One in Portage and one on Stadium drive in Kalamazoo. Â We frequent the business on Stadium drive where the pizza is outstanding and the service is excellent. Â If you go...ask for Jeff who is very attentive to your dining experience. Â Regardless where you sit there is a screen to view so you can watch what your team is doing. Â I can't wait until our next visit!!! Â Come and see for yourself!
Review Source:I came here while visiting my brother in Kalamazoo, and I was blown away by the pizza. Â We ordered the "Chicken Mushrella," which has a pizza sauce base, marinated chicken, fresh mushrooms & mozzarella cheese. Â We also got an order of the breadsticks (TO DIE FOR!)
Erbelli's actually has a great beer selection, and delicious martinis as well.
My only complaint (personal complaint, this is not the restaurants fault!) is that the table sitting behind us had 4 kids with them. Â One of the kids definitely pooped his pants. Â I'm glad I was finished eating at that point because it was foul to sit there and smell. Â The parents casually continued eating their meal as if nothing happened. Â
I can't wait to go back and try another pizza! (minus the poopy kid)
I've been going here for years, and I love it. Great food--we love their pizza, Erbbie bread, subs, lasagna, and garlic bread. It is a little on the expensive side, but you do get a lot of food. Online ordering is great, though we did have some issues with it in the beginning. You can even add in special instructions on each item. We order from them at work every now and then, as well, and they give a pretty big discount for large orders. The last one we put in was just over $200, and the manager called about ten minutes after I placed the order (online, before they opened, to be delivered at noon) to let me know that the total was actually going to be 25% less than what the order had said. Score!
Minus one star for home delivery. No matter where I've lived in their delivery area, it always takes an hour or more to get our food. It takes me about ten minutes to get there, so I typically choose to pick it up myself. If you're into that sort of thing, they also deliver beer and wine.
Overall this is a yummy place to grab to Italian. Pizza is good; garlic bread is really good, huge menu, and friendly staff. That said, I would stay away from any cream based pasta sauce. It was sad a low point. It had an awful consistency (think Elmer's Glue) and tasted like it had been poured right out of a can. I can make a cream sauce, it's not hard nor does it taste like nasty. Otherwise I would give them five stars, especially with their new bar.
Review Source:Everything on the menu has been great. Â I've been multiple times and try something different everytime I go. Â If you haven't ever had it, get the Erbie bread with pizza dipping sauce and you'll never want to be without it. Â Their combination of herbs and spices on a pizza crust are awesome! Â The Chicago style pizza is pretty good as well. Â It's very filling.
They also have a lunch buffet. Â It's a good place to try their salads, breadsticks, pasta and pizza. Â Don't forget that they have cookies and brownies for dessert.
