Fajitas Mexican Restaurant

We live close by and I had a $20 groupon so we went on Sunday.  3 kids 2 adults.  Staff was very nice. Food was good.  Yes the chips came with a bottled sauce but she brought some fresh salsa after that so you have to be patient.  They have alcohol now, we had 2 frozen margaritas that were only $2.99 each which is cheap and they were good.  My husband and son liked the steak burrito, I had shrimp fajitas which were very good, and my 2 younger ones had chicken tacos and steak soup. They also bonused a free small cup of a tomato based soup at beginning which was good.  The place is not very fancy but it is fine, they tried to style it and for where it is located I think it is a fine restaurant.  I am surprised by all the complaints on yelp.

It is not a very comfortable place - hard benches.  It looks like a converted Taco Bell.  I knew I was in trouble when the salsa came in squeeze bottles.  The red and green salsas were tasteless and the chips were hard.  My dinner came with a cup of vegetable soup - the best part of my meal.  The steak fajitas were flavorless and the refrained beans were watery.  I had the fried ice cream for dessert.  It was more like a sundae as it is served in a tortilla shell.  It was also a let down.  The shell had too much cinnamon for my taste and the scoop of ice cream was small.  The only thing good about this place is the waitstaff - friendly and attentive.

This is one of the worst Mexican Restaurant places I have ever went too and I don't say that to be mean but because it is a fact!

If you check the reviews from this place many are from 2010 and 2011 and we all know that a Restaurant can go downhill if management changes or cooks!

We sat down and was greeted by the cashier/waitress who placed two bottles of salsa and chips!  Yes you read right bottles, are you telling me that as a customer who is sitting down to dine we can't get at least some fresh salsa in a bowl so that we can dip our chips instead of squirt the pre-made salsa that has been sitting in a bottle for who knows how long.

After we places our order we were given some tomato soup with noodles that was very bland so we squeezed some lime in it a tip we got from Cesar's and that helped give it a bit of a zing to an other wise lack luster cup of soup.

My friend ordered the Burrito what was funny to us is that the picture displayed rice and beans with the Burrito we were quickly told that was just a picture and if we wanted the rice and beans that would be extra!  Now that is not on the menu where the Burrito actually is but they do have it in the inside of the menu.

They need new menus because I want to look at a picture just to be told that isn't what I get and if it is true then mark it some place so that I know right off the back!

When the platter came out it had a pretty good looking Burrito on it(looks can be deceiving) some dry day old looking rice and beans!  The steak was flavorless and fatty the best thing about the Burrito was the tortilla it was wrapped because it wasn't what was in the Burrito.

My friend ate most of her fussing the entire time lol, saying they better be glad she hadn't ate all day but the food really didn't agree with her she was feeling sick by the time she got home that night!

I ordered the steak taco salad again the presentation was amazing I couldn't wait to dive right into my dish and all I got was a disappointing heap of unappetizing mess.  I ended up just eating around the salad and tossing the rest away.  I couldn't even force myself to eat that unappetizing meal!

I was also disappointed that with the Groupon you only order non-alcoholic drinks which although they weren't that expensive it left us scrambling for other things to purchase.

So, my friend got the rice water I believe it was called and she said it was good!

I got an avocado it was fresh and a sprite that was the only thing that was eatable in my opinion.

My warning to people is this before you buy any Groupon and you check the reviews make sure they are recent otherwise you maybe sorely disappointed as we were from the Fajita Mexican Restaurant who shouldn't say they are authentic!

Yuck!
