We loved the Blackstone Valley Bar & Grill, shame to see them go.  Falzone's hasn't impressed.  The quality of the food just seems to have gotten worse and worse every time we've given them another shot (every several months).  Given the bizarre culinary mistakes we've experienced time after time,  I imagine the cook being as apathetic and callous as they come.  We've had a hard time getting clean silverware, and I mean roll after roll after roll of trying silverware setups.  Yuck.  Not a good way to get the appetite going.

The waitstaff is nice and generally an asset to the restaurant.

There is a bar right in the middle of the place that overwhelms the restaurant.  You're trying to have a nice evening out with friends and all you can hear is "Kill those F'ing (insert XXX sports team here)!" as the crowd of drunken dolts watches some game, slogging the night away in a haze of alcoholism.

Recently a piano was brought into the dining room as an apparent attempt to masquerade the bar.  Unfortunately, it just made everything even louder.  On the Friday night we encountered the piano, we departed after just a few minutes of waiting due to the volume of the stale Billy Joel cover song being played,  knowing that we couldn't eat in such an atmosphere.

Oh yeah, and now they are changing their name to something to do with a dog....The "Itchy Mutt"....or something similarly non-appetite inspiring.

Stopped here on 4/15/2011, im sorry the food was AWEFUL !
I ordered the mussels as a starter, not only did they feel like rubber, they were sour and bitter. no not spoiled, just bitter and sour.
Moving on, my chicken catetori over rice showed up, I kid you not when I say that the 4 yes 4 silver dollar sized pieces of chicken was totally lost in a sea of peppers (red, yellow and green) and a few halved plumb tomato's. this concoction was so sweet I have to wonder did the cook pour in sugar? I took my 4 bites of chicken, paid $27 tab and drove to westborough to get something to eat.

Never again, and now that i look at the reviews it looks like something changed at this place and its going down hill fast.

We are locals who have really seen the quality of the menu decline. When Falzone's first opened, it had a really diverse menu and everything that came out of their kitchen tasted great!

Fast forward a few years and the menu has changed into generic Italian fare that tastes like cooking school rejects. I'm not sure why this has happened, but I wish the old Falzone's would return.

It was my first visit and definitely my last visit! Was one of the most disgusting meals I have a had in  a long time. I had the chicken parm and I could only eat a few bites. The sauce was gross, pasta mushy and the chicken was unlike any chicken parm I have ever had. Gross! I would have preferred McDonald's any day over this place.
The restaurant was cold and had loud music playing that was unsuitable for an Italian restaurant. It was a Saturday night and empty. I can see why.

Everything was horrible.  Loud 50's music in an Italian eatery.  Ordered black russian and a toasted almond.  Both were on the verge of sending back.  1/4 oz of Kahlua in the black russian and not a drip in the toasted almond.  40 minutes after sitting down, my order of shrimp & scallops in pesto cream sauce was uneatable.  4 shrimp and 4 medium sized scallops for $19.00.  The 1 scallop I ate was undercooked and had really bad taste.  The penne was SWIMMING in over bearing pesto sauce.  The second order was baked haddock and a baked potato.  The wait person said "there is a lot of bread crumbs, should I ask that it be reduced?".  -Should have been a hint taken.  I challenge the fish was haddock (tasted like monk) and sitting in a layer of grease (this was to be baked).  There was enough bread crumbs to fill a 25 lb turkey.  The potato was very dry and over cooked.  One word: torture.  NEVER again.

Finally some dining that's worth writing about in the Blackstone Valley.  Ever since the Blue Jay burned down, we've been limited to pizza, chinese or standard pub fair.

Falzone's has brought in Italian done right - food that would stand up in Worcester or Providence, at reasonable prices with good service and atmosphere.

The food is excellent, although I actually find the portions to be way too big.  The Mussels Au Gratin app is tremendous, liberally garlicked, covered in cheese and presented in a size I would expect for a family style dinner, not an app.  The Pasta Somona can in a bowl that I'd use to server the entire family at home.  Again, a hit, with a tremendous mix of sun dried tomatoes, and a rich alfredo sauce.  Exactly what I was looking for,

Another great addition is a decent bar where I can get a well mixed martini - something sorely lacking in the area.

Give it a try and you'll find a welcome change to the drudgery of food in the area.  Oh, they also have a pub menu with the standard fare.  I can't rate that as I haven't tried it.
