Love the Fat Belly Burger here. Â This is my place of choice for pub food. Interesting selection of classic items plus some things unique to them. Â The food is usually cooked nicely here, with the exception of the occasional overcooked burger.
I give it 4 stars only because this Fat Belly's, along with the others in RI seem to constantly suffer from poor service. Â Very inattentive waitstaff at all locations, but maybe I've just gone at bad times.
Either way, very good food at a good price. Â Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a pub style hangout.
Food took excruciatingly long to come out with a nearly empty restaurant. Maybe 40 minutes (for bar food)?
When the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo came out, they forgot to throw the microwaved chicken in it, so we had to wait five more minutes to catch our server to bring it back. Regardless, the dish was disgusting and Lean Cuisine would've been better.
No salt or pepper on any tables.
We started eating and someone found a hair in their salad.
Gross. Too slow. Nothing comped. Lame.
It's your classic chain/bar restaurant. Â Food is OK to good, I do like that they have interesting salads. Â Staff is friendly, but they do seem to take a while so I think they may be a bit understaffed for the size of this facility and the volume of patrons they receive. Â
I have noticed the last couple of times I've been there (which was later, for dinner) they were playing some uncensored music over the speakers, and with lots of children and toddlers there, it didn't really seem right. Â Think of the clients first.
Having said all that, there are not too many options within Coventry, so I can see this hub surviving for some time with the handful of things they are getting right.
My honeymoon with Fat Belly's is over....I think their time of trying hard for a new community is also fading. Â I think they have their standard crowd and have established themselves in town.
This last time I had an 'Okay' experience...other than the bartender that obviously didnt care that i was there giving me my check before i was done 'oh, i didn't know you wanted another'.....did u ask?
I visited the following week and had my cash laying next to my empty beer signaling that maybe I wanted to leave and it took 15 minutes and the bar tender passed by a few times before noticing. Â 'You all set?'
One visit I can't stay and have a few and the next I can't leave.
Most spacious Fat Belly's I have been to, and I'm pretty sure I have been to all of them. Although, it might be as large as the Providence location but with just one floor. Â
The food is your average pub food and the menu is the same as all of their other locations.
I have only been to this particular location on the weekends and they always have a live band playing with a small dance area. Â If you're looking to get a table for more than 2 and don't want to sit at the bar, I suggest getting there early because you will wait. Â
I do wish the service was faster by both bartenders and waitresses. They appear to be short staffed as I think they look like they are their working tails off!
Went to Fat Bellys this past saturday. The female bartender was soo rude that i will probrably never go back. I never had a problem in potowamut so I guess i will just keep going there. They have great pizza. It's too bad because i have been to 4 different fat bellys and only main st and potowamut treated me friendly. forget wakefield. The guy bartender was the worst. Review Source:This has been the first time I've been to the Coventry Fat Belly"s I really enjoyed my turkey club wrap sandwich. Also, I tried the calamari with marinara sauce it had some garlic and that was yummy. The service wasn't too slow and it wasn't packed with a lot of people either so I will be going back again soon.
Review Source:First time at this pub, great atmosphere, kind waitstaff, my husband and I got a table right away no waiting got our food right away,excellent food, we had the BBQ Chicken nacho's which they used to have at  Bugaboo Creek,I loved,but that restaurant closed,Awesome that I found them on the menu,I had the Spinach Pie Pizza,which I thought was excellent,the crust was like a flat bread,which was really good

I am a bit biased because of proximity to my house, but I LOVE the new Fat Belly's in Coventry. It's the same solid pub food you find at their other locations, but with the added bonus of not being squished like a sardine while inside, PLUS live music on the weekends! I really like the way they set this location up, with plenty of bar space, even when you're not sitting directly at the bar.
