Mardi Gras

My friends and I in the graduating class at URI went here for senior week and were completely taken advantage of.  The bartenders waited until late in the night when they figured most people were drunk and started charging ridiculous prices for drinks.  One bartender demanded 7 dollars for a plain gingerale! Then the same bartender charged us 4.50 for a bottle of water and we watched him charge someone else half that price for the same bottle of water a few minutes later. He would not give us an explanation when we asked why.  The place is a dump and the people that work there are crooks. NEVER going back.

Its cheesey...its silly...it has that old label of being a trashy place but you know what...ive never had a bad time there.  If you get bored you can hop around to the different rooms.  Its a fantastic spot to people watch.  I've also found the bigger your crew the better the time.  The Drinks are decently priced, too...for a club.

My cover band has played here on several occassions (including some big holidays) and its ALWAYS been a blast.  Everyone just dances and sings along and is clearly just there to enjoy themselves.  

Don't thumb your nose at this place, seriously give it a try some night....warning..you may come out covered in napkins since the bartenders throw STACKS of them at random.

Um no. I feel like I could leave the review at that and it would be enough. But then I think of the plastic sharks and the disco ball and I must elaborate. $4 for valet parking, almost no free parking unless you count the lots of nearby businesses, and a $7 cover charge when there is almost no one there. And this place is way out of the way, not even downtown. Really? Total waste of money and the gas to get there. If I am going to drive 40 min to get to a club it damn sure isn't going to be here. Boston is just as close and I can't imagine the closer clubs in Providence being any worse. If you showed up here drunk at midnight it possibly could be fun, and if I lived down the block I may not even mind being one of those drunk people now and then but I don't. The idea of the place (the 2nd star) is better than the execution. I like places that have something for everyone but it is beyond cheesy. And the crowd is just bizarre. I'm going to have bad dreams tonight haunted with creepy mannequins and flashing palm trees. This place makes me feel violated...and not in a good way
