If we could give this place 100 stars, we would. After a few days and a highly disappointing trip to Rhode Island, my bf and I hungrily stumbled into this wonderful place, located just .01 miles from our hotel!
The quaintness of the bar speaks volumes about ambience and atmosphere. The non corporate nature, is easily seem in both serivce and food. The fish dishes, though fried were fresh and remarkable. The salad- simple, but plentiful. The food was so good, that we went two days in a row for food and drink, in particular the Cape Cod Rueben.
Thanks to the staff of the place that made our trip that much more enjoyable. I'll be dreaming of your sandwhich back home in NY!
Side Note: Though I am not a chocolate person, my bf ordered their lavacake. IT TASTES AMAZING- and it is made IN HOUSE!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
The best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. That's not hyperbole. Best... cheeseburger... ever. And that's really saying something. I'm no CB (cheeseburger) noob. I'm a fat 30 year old dude. I know my way around a cheeseburger. I probably average one cheeseburger a week since I was born. They offer a cheeseburger that comes with two different kinds of bacon. TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BACONS UNDER THE SAME BUN! That's a mainstay menu item too not just some sick pork fetish I'm acting out. And they won't silently judge you while you eat it either. Nice staff over there. They got tons of beers too. Ooh... I almost forgot to mention. They do a brunch and serve bloody mary's in huge pitchers with a single straw. They ain't messing around fool.
Review Source:Been there twice now, once for dinner (Best Corned Beef Sandwich in RI) and  brunch.  I was not disappointed.  I am not sure I can go with 5 stars at the moment, but this place will tempt you.
The beer prices are the best around, the food was surprisingly good. Â I know, all of the prior reviews rave about the food, but it is usually after they rave about the booze (and we all know shoe leather gets good reviews after one too many pints... he said in a whispered voice). Â But, in this case, it is great food, great service and great prices. Â
Be for warned about weekend brunch, the Bloody Marys and Mimosas are not for the faint of heart. Â ;-)
Update: so made my third trip. Â Still loving it. Â Had the super hot burger which is the first I have had that actually brings the heat. Â The wife had the Thanksgiving sandwich. Â It too was fantastic. Â
Now, I must jump on my pet peeve, upcharging. Â I hate, hate, hate it. Â So is it there on the menu, sometimes. Â But, it is the way things are delivered. Â First, my burger was served dry. Â I asked if they had spicy mayo. Â The answer, yes. Â It was good too. Â But when the bill came out, there was an up charge. Â The wife had closed the menu when she ordered. Â When asked what she wanted for a side, he started to rattle off the sides. Â She picked the sweetpotato tots. Â Did not mention the upcharge. Â So while it is small, it was a $60.00 bill with other orders and booze. Â So this looks petty. Â Anain, just my pet peeve.
