Awful service, Â decent food. Â
The entire time we were there, Â the server acted put out to actually have to take our order, and when he swiftly walked by our table periodically, he never inquired how our food was; we had to flag him down if we wanted more drinks. Â He really acted like we were an inconvenience to him, despite the fact that the restaurant was NOT busy - there were a lot of empty tables. Â Granted we were there longer than a normal lunch party - this was an office outing - but we didn't just sit at the table and not order anything; we ordered drinks almost the entire time we stayed beyond lunch.
Another in my party ordered fresh jalepenos on the side, the waiter brought canned jalepenos, and tried to lie and say they are fresh (anyone can tell the difference between a canned or fresh pepper). Â He did eventually return with fresh jalepenos. Certainly NOT the friendly and attentive service we get at the other Mexican restaurants in Bloomington /Normal, and I will not be going back to this location of Fiesta Ranchera voluntarily. Â
On a side note, I've never had a bad experience at the Fiesta Ranchera locations near Best Buy (Normal) or Kmart (Bloomington).
Fiesta Ranchera's food is always pretty good! The service in always prompt and the staff is usually very helpful. I've tried other Mexican restaurants in town and the food hasn't compared thus far. The only con is the sanitation of the facility. If your looking for authentic Mexican food, Fiesta Ranchera is the place for you!
Review Source:I have reviewed the one of the other Fiesta restaurants in town and this serves the same food as the others. This is the newest Fiesta in town which is probably why it is so much nicer than the others. You'll get free chips and salsa when you sit down and the service is very fast. You'd think that you'd need to budget more time for a sit down meal but we usually get our food within 10 minutes of ordering.
