Best thick crust pizza in BLONO. Â I just recently was out of town and had Giordanos and followed up with Rosati's right after getting back to town and have to say that Rosati's was the better tasting pie. Â I also have their Italian beef (called the chief) on a regular basis which I also rank as the best in town but still a distant second to Portillos. Â If you go to the location in Bloomington plan on carry-out unless you have a very small group. Â The normal location has ample seating if you are looking to eat there.
Review Source:Claims to be Chicago-style. Â So what is the verdict? WannaBe or RealDeal?
My Vote: RealDeal
Why: Tastes like Giordanos. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you probably think Monicals is good pizza.
Coming from Chicago I really miss Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza, so I was ecstatic to learn Rosati's was coming to town. Â I've never had their thin crust and probably never will. Â Order this and you won't be disappointed. Â Promise. Â Worth the money and the wait, and to show those who swear by Monical's, what a real pizza tastes like.
Chicago Style (NOT the double dough, some people get confused)
Tip: Too many ingredients can make a deep dish watery or soupy, just a characteristic of this type of pizza so I recommend sticking to your two favorites. Â I prefer sausage and mushroom. Â No need for tomatoes, trust me on this... and if you like it veggie style, spinach and mushroom are a great combo.
The restaurant itself isn't very big to sit in so order ahead and pick it up. Â You will NEED a fork and knife on a real plate to eat this.
Enjoy!
