Destihl is yet another example of a quality non-chain place in Bloomington-Normal. I'm not a beer drinker, so I can't comment on the microbrews they offer, but my friends have been happy with many of them. The atmosphere is somewhat of a hip restaurant in a larger city. We're not in NYC or LA, so it's not ~that~ trendy, but the crowd is on the younger side, and the decor is modern. The food is upscale American. They offer several meat entrees, burgers/sandwiches, dinner salads, and seafood dishes. The food is flavorful, and the portion size is appropriate (plenty of food for one person but not a huge portion like you get in some restaurants). They also offer some tasty appetizers and desserts. I'd recommend the beer battered asparagus and the pumpkin bread pudding and berry Napoleon. Prices are what you'd expect; most entrees will run you $12-16 with a few being more in the $20 range. Burgers/sandwiches/salads are less. They do get busy, so if you're coming on a weekend night, be sure to make a reservation.
