Uptown 138

I've been here twice now - once for drinks and to watch a basketball game, and the other time for lunch.  Both times the service was good and the food (turkey avocado club and some soup) was fine.  They have some of the larger outdoor seating areas in Uptown, so I am sure I will go more frequently as it starts getting nicer out.  There are plenty of tvs for watching games, and plenty of places to both stand and sit with larger or smaller groups.

Update: After my review today, I decided to go here for drinks and appetizers with a friend. We sat outside and it was very nice. However, the service was decidedly lackluster.  We got quesadillas and a burger basket and both were decent.

I went here with my boyfriend and a friend of ours last Friday looking for somewhere to get food with our drinks. When we got there, it was surprisingly dead (it wasn't even midnight), but we still had atrocious service. We walked in and one of the waitresses said she'd be right with us with menus - it took probably about 5-10 minutes for that to actually happen. After that, it took 10-15 more for her to come over and take our order, and we didn't get our food and drinks until like 20 minutes after that (the food - understandable, if you have to make it, but one shot and two beers? Come on). We were sitting seriously two feet from the bar, and we could see her the entire time just hanging out and shooting the shit with her friends. Not cool. When the pizza finally showed up, I had a bite of the boyfriend's, and I actually thought it was really good, but I knew if I ordered a slice (I was the only one who didn't get food) we'd be stuck there for another 45 minutes, at least. Definitely a disappointing experience. Although it's kind of small, it looks nice, has a couple dart machines (always a plus), and the food is decent (at least from what we saw), but if the service is consistently this terrible, I don't think we'll ever go back.

I thought I would try out the new bar in town so I stopped in on  Friday night to watch the hawks game. When I walked in I really liked the bar decor and overall interior design of the place. I knew going in that the layout maybe a little different since it was formerly a cosi restaurant. I pulled up a seat by the main bar and had a good view of the game, since every wall pretty much had a big screen tv, also they had a nice set up if you wanted to play some darts. Uptown 138 offers a ton of different specials every night and also serves food all night which is a huge plus. I tried there wood oven pizza and it was excellent. I thought the slice was a good size but it had a unique taste with the wood oven that really made it stand out. The beer selection is small right now, but I've been told they are going to bring in different types of I.P.A's and increase there drink menu. Good spot overall, can't wait to come back and try some other things on the menu.
