Meatheads

Great food, kinda messy.  I'd recommend the Baja burger or the Reuben burger.  If you like spice but do not like HOT food ask for no jalapeños on your Baja, the jalapeños are like fire!

After fruitlessly driving around downtown Bloomington for a quick lunch spot (apologies to Mugsy's, which was quite enjoyable when I ate there last year), we caught sight of Meatheads on Main, next to a Chipotles. Rather than suffer the gigantic rice-stuffed gut-bomb capsule, we opted for Meatheads, despite the rather off-putting name. I ordered the Classic burger with everything along with cajun fries. Not only was the burger outstanding (not cooked to death, for one thing), but the service was awesome! The staff stopped by a few times to ask if everything was good ... and it was.  The cajun fries were a little bit too salty for my taste, but that's a personal preference. The specialty ketchups (next to the high-tech drink dispenser) were really, really good. I'll definitely be back!

I'm not much of a burger guy, but Meatheads is turning me. Most importantly, they have great burgers. They give you a great selection of toppings, a variety of sauces (all delicious) and they tasty fries. What about drinks? Glad you asked. They have one of those new fangled Coke machines where you can choose form a zillion flavors all from a touch screen.
But here's what I really appreciate about Meatheads. They genuinely care about what they do and who they serve. Each time I've dined here (mostly over lunch), a manager has stopped by to ask if my group has everything that we need. If we've finished eating and are still sitting and talking, someone will come around and clear our table. They take pride in what they do.
Also, they decorate their establishment with photos from around town and they also have seasonal sports schedules for high school and college athletics where they keep a running tally of wins and losses as well as scores.
Overall a great place. I'm glad that we have two in Bloomington-Normal.
