Boo Boo's Dawghouse

Excellent Chicago style food which is hard to find in this area. I would highly suggest the sausage/beef combo which will make you stuffed if your able to eat this good sandwich. Parking can sometimes be tough but it's well worth the walk. its a pretty fair priced place and you feel like your in a beef stand up in Chicago since most of the food is cooked in that style.Theres no BBQ there but great sausages, and dawgs to eat.It also is nice  when you want a quick eat before an event at the US cellular arena.

The Bloomington Boo Boo's is wicked awesome! The jumbo dogs are fantastic, and I liked the chicken fingers as well. You can tell everything is really fresh and piping hot, assembled right there.

For me the real star of the show, though, are the crinkle cut fries. It's the only place in town that I think of when I have a fry craving. Sure, they're probably frozen, but it takes some talent to consistently fry to perfection. I say this as someone who's loved fries her whole life and has had a boatload of them. Boo-Boo's fries are perfectly cooked, perfectly golden, perfectly salted (in my opinion, some people like more salt) and come to you hot, mealy and wonderful. The last time we went I wound up just having an order of large fries for dinner. I'm such a geek that I took a picture of them to text to my best friend (and fellow fry compatriot) just to make him jealous.

I do have one caveat about this review, and that is- I've been to both Boo-Boo's and I totally prefer the downtown Bloomington location. When I went to the one in Normal the tables were messy and not really wiped down, the hot dogs were cold, and so were most of the fries (I also have questions about their freshness). Everything was messy and it just didn't taste good to me. There were no customers and only two guys working so maybe they were just having the odd day of slacking, but it was disturbing enough to me that I'm going to own my prissdom and admit that I simply won't go to that one anymore. I'm big on multiple chances but they had way too many strikes on the first visit for me to consider extending my business again, so it's downtown Bloomington for me!

This is great when you want a hot dog that tastes nothing like oscar mayer.  I love their chicago style dogs.  I don't think I've tried any other style.  I like all the fixin's (i said it!) and throw some extra peppers on there too.  They make their own ice cream... not sure if they just throw flavoring into vanilla or what... but its really good!  and cheap.
