Illinois Brewing Company

This is the world's worst bar.   It is beyond dirty.  Chairs coverings are all torn.  There are fights all the time.  Their craft beer is horrible and no one drinks it except the regulars.   Only positive for this bar Courtney who only works a few nights a week.   They used to have live music until the owner decided to charge bands for playing here.   What a terrible owner.   Look at the front windows before you walk in and there is no way you will enter this hell hole.

As a lover of the tv series Dexter and true-crime novels, I was really excited to be taken to what looked like a future crime scene when my boyfriend, friend and i decided to try some craft beer at IBC. The entrance to this bar is a dirty, unmarked door, and visitors are greeted to paint peeling off the walls and broken windows. Stay away from the walls so paint chips don't fall into your drink, you definitely don't want to drink those.
We were greeted with the music literally stopping the second we walked in, and the entire cast of Moonshiners and Duck Dynasty staring us down. My first act was to check-in to this location on Facebook, so after we were abducted and possibly murdered, the police would have a place to start their investigation.
I don't recall the quality of the beer at this location, because it was gulped down in order for us to leave as fast as possible. The only two females in this bar besides our group were the bartenders, and they looked about as happy to be working there as someone who is being robbed at gunpoint. IBC is the perfect place for a probation officer to start looking for parolee if they go missing. Its convenient location to the county courthouse makes that even easier than it seems.

My wife HATES this place.

Why?  It's dirty.  The service is lousy.  The clientelle is trashy.  The tv's are huge and only play sports.  The only light is from neon beer signs.

The fact that they brew their own beer might give you some hope for quality.  The beer isn't bad.  But it isn't great either.

Me?  I always want to stop when I am in Bloomington.  But I like dirty bars and cheap beer.  Don't take anybody you want to impress here, but If you want to drink beer, play darts, and be the best looking person in the room (not hard for even the 4's among us) then this place is for you.
