Ozark House Restaurant

I've been going here for years.  Unfortunately, my cousins, aunts and uncles are a fan of this place. They don't know good cuisine.  Every time there is a celebration and I fly home, this is where they want to go.  They haven't left the little Bloomington pond and don't know what good food is.   The food doesn't have any flavor.  It is dry and bland.  I have tried several dishes here and it makes no difference.  Not even the coleslaw or potatoes are good.  The cheese dip tastes like dirty feet.   Unfortunately, I'll have to go here many more times. :(

I have been to Ozark House twice now.  It is an old Bloomington classic supper club.  The dinner crowd here is older, 99% gray hair here.  The service both times has been good, no complaints.  The atmosphere, a bit dated but not unpleasant.  The food is good but not outstanding.  I had the ribs the first time, they were good, no complaints but I think you're always better off at a BBQ place for those.  The second time I had the cod dinner.  You get two sides with your dinner.  The salad is iceberg with the dressing on the side in a little plastic cup, iceberg salad can be good with a really good homemade dressing, but this was just mediocre.  Again the food is good, but just doesn't standout above the others.  If you go here you will leave satisfied.

The best Ribs in the area for sure.I went here In may and had the prime rib dinner and it was great.My last visit though my dad told me to get the ribs and it was best recommendation i got.They were excellent and a true full slab,not like some of the chain restaurants where they call a 1/2 slab a full slab.
   My gf got the salmon and she said it was really good.Weekends can get pretty busy between 5-7pm,but its worth the wait.I saw several  people getting the fried chicken so i might try that next time.The prices seemed average too,and not real pricey,but i wouldn't mind paying extra anyways for a real good meal.
