The Filling Station

The Filling Station continues to try to find it way... It's the basic small town bar and I give it three stars for decent food and good beer selection. I stopped by one Saturday night with my hubby to enjoy a beer and some music. Unfortunately, Stefan (from SNL) was there with his rave music!! What happened to the live rock bands? This is a local bar, not a rave club... I feel like the music alienated the locals and we left soon after it started.

I have to shake my head in wonder; how can their recipes and food be so good? Even when it's off-season like now and they are not real busy yet at any hour the courtesy and food is so very wonderful.  This is true over several occasional visits.  When I'm working a job in the area, a little bell goes off in my head now and says, "Must stop and do a meal at The Filling Station"......"Do not skip it!". Greek burger last month, ABQ/Southwest Turkey tonight....Really!  Que the guilty grin....This is rare and this is so good!  Capt. Tom
