The Cabin

The Cabin is a real neighborhood gem.  It is located in a residential area on the Richmond Beach waterfront because it was grandfathered in to the zoning laws.  The Cabin feels like a community.  The vast majority of customers are regulars who live in the area and have been coming to the bar for the last few decades or so.  Not to say that it's full of old people though!  There is a nice mix of older and younger folk.  

The clam chowder is quite good.  Highly recommended!  The sirloin steak was tough and overcooked, but the accompanying shrimp Caesar salad was excellent. I'm going to try their meatloaf next time.  

The bartenders and staff are extremely friendly and efficient.  The bar itself is sloped, which makes you feel like you're on a boat.  They have a fireplace and pool table in back and a large outdoor patio that is great during the summer.  Give this place a try!

I liked this place instantly when I saw that they had Fat Tire on tap - something that's oddly hard to find in the PNW. I got their french dip, which wasn't the best ever, but was still tasty and included pickles. Dill pickles, not bread and butter (which obviously is the best pickle to go with roast beef). I would totally order it again. My boyfriend had the Alaskan fish sandwich and he thought it was great. I also liked that they served me ranch with my fries. I don't usually order ranch with my fries, so it was like a tasty surprise treat. The service was very friendly and we did not have to wait very long for our food.

The Cabin is the quintessential tavern. This joint is just the kind of place I love to stop into randomly when on road trips.  Having visited on a dozen occasions, believe me when I say this is obviously the friendly kind of neighborhood tavern where regulars are greeted by name when they walk in the door and where you can count on getting a good meal while listening to some great tunes on the jukebox. The quality of the food has never disappointed.  I have uploaded pictures of the Steak and the Fish ( baked, not fried) Sandwich. Both were excellent, as always.
