Echo Lake Tavern

I actually really like this place! Living right next to it gives me a chance to spend some quality time there. It would probably be considered a dive to most, but I like this dive! Very nice employees, and the people there are pretty cool! The tattoo place upstairs is open late too. So if you get the sudden urge to run upstairs and get a tattoo, you can do so.

Was a great place, Remodeled & repainted a few years ago, now regrettably closed & up for sale  :-(

Reopened a few months ago as "Woody's"  Nice place, friendly bartenders, good panini sandwiches

This small dive bar was packed with a dozen or so people on a weekday afternoon. You can tell that they have recently "put a little lipstick on the pig" to fix the place up. The bartender was friendly, pouring strong drinks. They have a pool table, jukebox and indoor plumbing! This is probably a good fit if: you live in the area, like a cheap drink and prefer rudimentary, unpretentious "dive bars". I would skip this one if a quiet, classy martini bar is more your style.
