Daphnes Cafe

What a crazy cool little place. When I say little I mean LITTLE, as in I think my master bedroom is bigger and I can assure you I don't live at Oprah's house. There are just 2 tables and a handful of bar stools. The decor and the cocktails - both classic and perfect. I felt like I had time traveled back to France in 40's (minus the Nazi invasion). The French 77s and the Manhattans were perfection. This place has a real eye for detail. Sadly, they just remodeled so no license for food yet but we can't wait to come back for some cheese and bread along with the awesome cocktails!

I'll have to be in the minority to say I wasn't impressed.

Look there's cute charming bars out there for sure...The Upstairs, Tavern Law and numerous other speakeasies. I like the theme and feel of this place but its so small, it smelled like sweat.

Also, they made a good French 77 but they have a limited bar. This is probably due to its size but they didn't have ginger beer or ginger ale. He said he does martinis, beer and wine on tap and I forget what else.

I really liked the concept but I think this place was just a bit too small for me.

Daphne's Cafe is Edmond's best kept secret.  The bartenders Bill & Desmond really make the place.  And the cheese plate with chutney.  And the 50's music. C'est le vie !
