Wandered in on a week night to catch a quick drink with a date and was pleasantly surprized to find good food, a decent later happy hour, and my favorite dry cider on tap, for only $4/pint. Great mixed drinks too, (I took a sip of his). This is why I love wandering Ballard. Â My neighborhood is still a good mix of dives and genuine music spots between the yuppie upscale places.
I'd already eaten but had a few fries and I'm in love! I'll be back for sure. The table service was fantastic, I didn't have to lift a finger all evening, even though it was a full house. I can't wait to try some authentic German food, it looked and smelled great.
This place is one of my favorites in Ballard. The staff are very nice, the customers give you space if you like, but if you strike up a conversation they will never act passive or snoty. The food is delish, especially the reuben and the german potato salad. If you want a great german beer, good company and stellar food, this is the spot- and kids are welcome in the front room.
