3.5 stars. Charmingly cute dessert cafe that oozes hipster love, straight out of Pinterest. Friend loved the classic dark chocolate cake - this was definitely on the darker side, a bit bitter unless you legitimately love dark (as you should). The caramel peanut butter (better?) shake had fantastic flavour, great combination, not too thick or thin. Desserts are well-made and beautifully presented, on the pricey side as prior reviewers note.
Good for groups, good for couples, good for solos. One for me, none for you!
Oh lord. There are few things better for dessert than molten chocolate cakes. Â Hot cakes perfects the art. Â I tried the peanut butter version, which has peanut butter fudge in the center, along with vanilla ice cream on the side. Â I hadn't had such a great dessert in a long, long time. Â And now I want to eat all of the molten hot cakes. The cakes are a little on the pricey side ($8 approx), but considering the quality and the sinfulness, it is well worth it. Â My only gripe is that when you pay by credit, their tablet-computer cash register app sort of goads you into tipping the cashiers. Â You are presented with the options of 15, 18, and 20 percent, or "custom value." Â I don't think you always need to give a buck for just a piece of cake, unless they are paying the workers like indentured servants. Â But most people don't have the gall to type in 0.00. Â It's a bit pushy in that passive aggressive style unique to the Pacific Northwest. Â But, great cakes!
