Went here on a quiet Wed night and sat at the bar. Good burger and good service. We'll be back.

What a great restaurant! Food has been great. Especially the mussels for appetizer  & stuffed shrimp entree. The staff is always welcoming with open arms and hugs. Lorna and Nora always remember our favorites! We love this place it's like home.  George plays the sax on Saturday nights. It's like going to a free concert. He is friendly too! Just had the best steak and shrimp combo special! Great fish & chips! Try Irish coffee after dinner!

This is a watering hole for desperado locals. At that, it is OK, but as far as eating dinner or having a good time at the bar with a group of friends, go somewhere else. Poor service, sketchy inconsistent food, only 2 TV's behind the bar, it's empty most of the time and it's easy to see why.

They just don't give a damn, it's easy to see.

They get you drunk and overcharge your card, BEWARE.

I simply like the place for it's Guinnes! I haven't been for years and about 15 years ago, I actually lived about two blocks away. All I can say is this... I've had alot of Guinness in my times and I think outside of Ireland, it's very good! ( and yes if you haven't guessed it, I'm half Irish) so if you're around that spot during St. Patty's... Try it out and see!

Came here years ago for some drinks and remembered it being much better.  Bar area was very dark and in need of a face lift.  I sat down at the bar for one of their advertised 1/2 off happy hour drafts from the sidewalk blackboard.  The selections on tap were pretty basic, so I decided on the Sam Adams Boston Lager.  The bartender attempted to pour a glass for me only to find out they were out of it.  Left with very few choices, I went with a Blue Moon.  She filled a 20 oz glass and charged me $5.50.  Unless they are normally $11 a pop, I'm not sure how it was half price, but I decided not to question it.  I quickly finished my beer and left.

Bar was full with local old timers, but dining room was almost completely empty.  Only 2 tv's behind the bar.  Parking lot in the back.  I recommend trying somewhere else.

    Comfort food.

I'm a bit baffled by the reviews here...

Honestly, this is one of the BEST meals all around that I've had in a while.

We started out with appetizers. My date had the lobster salad sliders, which he said were fantastic. I had some onion soup that was out of this world. They used some special cheese on the top that was absolutely delish. I don't remember what it was, but it was just a tad spicey. It was also the perfect balance of soup vs topping. Also, there were crispy onion strips on top to bring some texture to it!

For dinner, I had the skirt steak accompanied by come fresh creamed spinach which was delicious as well. I can't remember what exactly my date had, but he said it was awesome as well. It was some type of short rib on top of lobster mashed potatoes, I think. It fell right off the bone.

We finished with a cheesecake which was also awesome.

I can't say much for the service as we were the only people sitting down for dinner at the time, but the woman was very pleasant.

All in all, we will DEFINITELY be going back, and I highly recommend this to anyone!

The place is nice but the staff seemed confused about our reservation. The service was friendly but uninformed (2 separate queries about the soup of the day got 2 "let me check" and then 2 different answers) and very, very slow - over an hour between being seated and getting served actual food. The food was ok but nothing special - lamb was very fatty. For a place across the street from a theater the slowness is inexplicable.

Not as MacCool as you'd think. Passable in both meanings of the word.

The service was OK, although our waitress failed to pay complete attention while we were ordering, neglecting a drink order and screwing up the dessert order. Both were remedied by male staff members who seemed to be a bit more on the ball.

The burger was good, although it was far more rare than the order of "medium-rare." The french fries were frozen steak fries, good, but nothing special. The shepherd's pie was small @16 bucks, and while the insides were unbelievably hot, the potato top lacked that crust on it that helps make the dish something special. The Creme Brulee was heated vanilla pudding with powdered cinnamon sprinkled on top to replicate the look of the flambe, but again there was no crust topping a dish that is known for it.

There's really no reason to go here.

Finn was a great man back in the emerald isles and if he ate here he would more than likely be happy.

A little more upscale than your average Irish joint, finn MacCool's is pretty good sized.  The bar is big and the bartenders are really good.

The food, as mentioned, is good and you can get all the usual Irish fare plus a nice selection of American dishes.

The only downside is that there are a lot of families so the rowdiness factor is down in the dirt.
