Fireside Brewhouse

In all honesty I cannot believe this place only has 3 stars overall.  My wife and I just moved back to Indy and wound up here on our first night out since we welcomed our first child.  We will be regulars! In short, good food, good atmosphere, good drink selection and great service.

It was close and I knew they had a full bar.  We were welcomed by the staff and a manager when we walked in.  They asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar or the family section.. to the bar we went.  I cannot remember our waitresses name but she was quick to greet us and make chatter about various subjects.  As we hadn't been here we asked for some suggestions about stuff we could split.  We wound up with a Don Julio Margarita and a glass of Makers 46.  They took a few minutes to come out but were made well.  The margarita was expensive since it was top shelf, but it was a good value for the money compared to other places.  

We took our waiters advice and ended up ordering a half order of BBQ Pork nachos... They were good size and did not disappoint. I can only imagine how big the full order would be!! Be advised, if you ask for extra bbq sauce or sour cream they have to charge you.. This always annoys me.. but they need to keep track of things.  

A week after our first venture here we went back for a 'family' dinner.  I had the chipotle blackened chicken and my wife had the pork tenderloin.  They were both very good and well sized.. I wanted to get some veggies but nothing tickled my fancy so I ended up with French Fries.. Wow - they were very good! Good seasoning and crispy the way we like them.
When we walked in this time our waitress from the first time was at the front .. she immediately recognized us and that we brought the kid this time.  Can't ask for much more than that.

We are fans!  The food can get a little expensive.. but its not an applebees, chilis or chain place.. its good food

Hey if love to burn $100 bills in your fireplace you will LOVE Fireside.  This place gives me mixed feelings and I think it goes back to other reviews regarding the prices charged at Fireside Brewhouse.  First thing, I don't go there for the beer or the bar, so I have no comment on that part of the restaurant.  I went here three times for the food.  First the good part, the place is very nice and has a great modern décor.  Second positive, I had one really good turkey sandwich.  Now for the negatives about Fireside Brewhouse.  First negative is the price.  You cannot have inconsistent quality and average service and charge high prices.    My first turkey sandwich was great and the second one seems to be different from the first one and not so good.  All three times I was there the service from the wait staff was average to below average.  The last straw on price was a $14.00 chef salad for my wife.  She ordered two types of dressing for this salad and when I got the bill they charged me extra for the second salad dressing.  Now really!!! Fireside you are going to do add on charges for a $14.00 salad.  You don't even get a roll or anything it is just a salad for $14.00 and Fireside thinks it is great customer service to add on an additional charge for a second small amount of dressing.  This is not even in house homemade dressing.  Most likely comes from those large plastic jars they spend like $10 a piece for.  The next thing was we wanted a pizza and the oven went down yesterday.  Fireside you really don't have someone on call for a situation like this.  If you want great sandwiches and awesome salads that are better quality and $3-4 cheaper and really fast service, just go to the great Italian restaurant in the Kroger strip mall across the street.  I will never be back to this place again.  There are too many other restaurants out there that get it and provide great consistent products, service and value to waste time and money on this place again.

I have been here sevearl times and have always had a good experience!  Food is good, great selection of beers and the atmosphere is always upbeat and entertaining.  I also love that they have a small dance floor with a dj.  Nothing better than gettin my grove on after dindin:)
