If you want a fast food style cheeseburger in the area, Five Guys is a much better option than McDonald's or Billy Goats, but still maybe not better than Steak N' Shake. The burger is pretty average for a fast food burger, aside from higher quality ingredients. Sometimes the burgers are really good, but the fact that they are cooked well done leads to inconsistencies. The skin-on fresh-cut fries, however, are worth coming back for. When eaten right away, the fries are some of the best. Not quite as perfectly crisp-on-the-outside and creamy-on-the-inside as the ultra potato-y fries at Rand Red Hots, but very good. I also really appreciate the fact that they disclose their potato sourcing.
Review Source:The burger was mediocre at best, and the fries were simply average. Considering how expensive the food was (a cheeseburger and small order of fries - no drink - cost me around ten bucks) it's even more of a disappointment.
You're also going to wait a long time for your mediocre, absurdly overpriced food. The place was pretty dead when I went and I still had to wait for about fifteen minutes to get my food. For a place that is set up in every other way like a fast food restaurant, this was an unpleasant surprise.
Well I finally made my way over to Five Guys....ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink....$13.00, I thought to myself, if it's really good, then that's not so bad. Â After waiting over 10 minutes for my order, I dove in. Â The burger was a big hot mess. Â One bite and the entire thing fell apart. Â Let me stress, it was a big sloppy mess. Â I HATE that. Â and it was mediocre at best. Â No big deal at all. Â Now for the french fries...they were good, but not great. Â There were plenty of them. Â Bottom line, Portillos blows this place away, and they're a whole lot cheaper! Â I will not be going back to Five Guys.
Review Source:I was really exicted to try this place out and the whole experience was terrible. First I order a "little burger" as they call it, and had to wait exactly 17 minutes for it. I appreciate the made fresh idea..but even Culvers isn't that bad with the wait. Secondly after waiting nearly a half hour for a tiny burger I finally sit down to eat and what i had ordered for a Bacon Cheeseburger. The burger did not have bacon or cheese, and had mushrooms and pickels which both of which I hate and specifically asked to not have  on the burger. Nonetheless I was totally grossed out. So when I go to tell the people at the counter I don't have any bacon on my sandwich he tells me to go sit down, and he will bring the bacon to me instead of saying "let me fix your sandwich". So I go sit down wait another 8 minutes for bacon, and by this time my food is starting to get cold and out comes the bacon. It was so over cooked it was crumbling everywhere and at this point I was again just so grossed out I just wanted to leave. You would think they would have offered me a new sandwich, or at least offered to put the bacon on. But nope!! Instead I got gross bacon wrapped up in tinfoil. Needless to say I will definitely never go back. I am not too picky of an eater, but this by far was the most digusting dining experience I have had in a long time or possibly ever.

I had a little bacon cheeseburger- this to me was a very good size burger! Between that and half an order of regular fries I was plenty full!
I can't imagine ordering a burger that wasn't "Little" , but if you're really hungry (& plan on working out soon) go for it! Â One thing I really liked about the burger was that the bacon was very crispy and it wasn't that stupid microwavable crap most places think they're fooling you with these days!
I also have to give them kudos for not charging for toppings! Feel free to load up!
I have to give props to them on the fries! They remind me of the good ole days of Boardwalk fries, they were very good!
They got our order out within less than 10 minutes and everything was hot n just greasy enough! :)

First; the Burger-
Excellent on the toppings, good bun, cooked fresh to order. Â Sometimes I wish it was a single bigger patty instead of the double, but delish none the less.
Second; the Fries-
A big part of the high ranking! Â Fresh cut and Malt Vinegar to boot!
Third; the Beverages-
LOVE the new Coke machine with the crazy amounts of choices. Â Especially since I usually want to go caffeine free and stick with diet.
Fourth; the Extras-
Peanuts are a nice touch.
Fifth; the Atmosphere-
Clean, bright. Â Two slight drawbacks-one it seems EVERY table wobbles (A for consistency) and two-music is too loud.
Sixth; the Value/Price
A little pricey, but I enjoy this place more than Culver's and Portillo's. Â Though I concede Portillo's probably has the better beef when it comes to the burger, topping choices plus huge advantage in fries and massize drink selection (plus free refills) gives Five Guys a major edge. Â And don't even get me started on how disappointed I was with Smashburger and Fatburger.
The burgers and fries are five stars but the price is the reason why I give 3. The burgers are of what you can cook on your grill at home. Yes, they do not charge you extra for toppings and the amount you want to put on it but I really don't think you should have to pay so much for a burger and fries. Yes you get a giant brown bag overflowing with fries but still too much. This place is an "upscale" pricier fast food joint.
Review Source:Was this place good? Yes. Was it everything everyone has hyped it up to be? Not really. But it's still good. They do have good burgers and fries. The burgers have 2 patties, and they have a lot of toppings to choose from (you don't have to pay extra). They give you tons of fries, and the even have a sign on the wall telling you where the potatoes came from that day. They have the new fangle dangle Coke machines as well. It's kind of a diner atmosphere, but a little nicer than fast food. You do need to wait a little longer than a McDonald's for your meal ,but it's worth it. I would prefer that!

I would go here just for the fries though.... they were pretty addictive. I like to dip them in A1 sauce or malt vinegar! More than the burger itself I like that Five Guys offers these different condiments that you don't find everywhere. They are pretty pricey for just burgers and fries if you ask me...

The burger was good as fast food burgers go. Though it did remind me a bit of my first visit to a Wendy's back in 1976. Homemade taste. The fries were fair at best. A load of them - more than anybody should really eat - with fair quality... some were a little greasy.
But here's what struck me the most - regular cheeseburger, regular fries, regular soda and a nearly $13 tab! Â I don't think so. I could have visited the Claim Company and had a better quality burger with homemade chips or fries and a drink served to me for about the same price. I don't usually complain about prices, but this place is outta hand. Maybe when they start serving Kobe beef at that price there will be value there. But definitely one of the worst values I've come across going out to eat. Â
Four stars based on food quality (a little generous maybe), minus 1 star for poor value - 3 stars at best.
Finally managed to get in here with my daughter and a few of her friends the other day. Â Couldn't believe how much I over ordered though! Â Got each kids a burger/dog, then silly me wasn't paying attention to sizes and ordered two large fries for four 9 yr old girls and myself... whoa, that was a lot of fries - we couldn't make a dent in them!
Loved my burger!!! Â I got a bacon cheeseburger and was a little stunned when I got it with everything and there were mushrooms on it (i don't do shrooms), but they were easy to remove... BEST GRILLED UNIONS on a burger though... SO GOOD!

Free peanuts, copious portions of fries that reminded me of Great Steak & Potato Company fries (the last time I had them, years ago), and large (for a chain) burgers. Â Great if you're hungry, but not if you're not hungry, and the quality didn't impress myself, my wife, or my five-year old son, or differentiate Five Guys from the competition. Â Plus, the background music was very loud. Â My son kept plugging his ears.
We ate fast and left fast, with him saying, "I am never coming here AGAIN," Â and again complaining about the loud music. Â I never heard him say that about a food establishment before, or say so with such finality.
I am definitely a fan. Â
I don't go out for fast food burgers very often but this place is going to change that.
$5 for a little bacon cheeseburger with all the toppings I want on it? Damn right!! Yes, the wait is long but it's worth it for the hand-formed patty that is cooked to order. The little is definitely enough for me, especially since a regular order of fries is wayyyyyyy enough for 2 people.
The fact that they have peanuts, unsweetened iced tea, fry their fries in peanut oil AND can tell you what farm they got their shipment in for their potatoes is awesome. It's all of these things that blows all of the other burger chains far, far away!
I wish there was a location by me. Or, maybe it's a good thing there isn't one...
Freshly cooked burger, tasty fries, good selection of free toppings, free peanuts to eat while I wait for freshly made burger...pretty freaking dope.
This was my second experience with Five guys and this was more enjoyable than my first. I was eating with my wife this time and that usually bumps up the enjoyment factor for me quite a bit. But on top of that, I went with a single this time as opposed to the double. I love a good big burger, but I found the single to be a more appropriate size for lunch. Part of that is because the fry order is ridiculously large.
It may be pricey for some folks, but I think it's worth it. It's way above a Mcdonald's, BK type burger, so I'll be back for sure.
Better not become a regular here otherwise here goes my waistline and my healthy cholesterol levels. Yet, it's tempting: a fast food joint with outstanding fries, better burgers than chains like TGI Fridays and the like at slightly cheaper prices. Only a few choices but you add the toppings you want. It takes a little longer than at a regular fast food but you can munch on complimentary peanuts while your wait. Yes the food quality is worth the wait and the price.
Review Source:Love Five Guys. Been to this location, one in NYC. This one was better. When they're crazy busy, it does take a bit longer. Worth every penny imo. It's always yummy, no matter how long it takes. I mean, I can't go here more than once every 2 months or so since just looking at the burger makes my blood vessels shudder. But they have coke zero and so many fries, I have never once finished them, even when there with 2 people. A plus in my book. And it's all super fresh. I've tried a lot of 'the best burger ever' and have always been disappointed. This one didn't. *happy sigh* highly recommend. Just be ready for the food baby you'll be carrying around for about 2 days.
Review Source:The very well-made hand-crafted burgers are topped with some of the freshest vegetables you'll find. Along with a nice side of fries that are made from real potatoes, it's a solid meal that will fill you up. Although it can be a little pricey, you are paying for what you get.
Also, who doesn't like unlimited peanuts to snack on while you wait?
Personal Recommendation: Bacon Cheeseburger with everything + jalapenos, small fries.
I remember getting excited when I first saw the sign for Five Guys @ Randhurst. Â Remember that "Inside the White House" thing on NBC with Brian Willams where President Obama walks into the Five Guys on Capitol Hill and gets food for his staff?? Â I figured if it's good enough for the Prez, its good enough for me. Â I knew we were going to hit them on the first day they opened.
These burgers are good (burgers are what Five Guys are known for and they do it well) but they are hell-of messy and I'm not a fan of messy. Â The burger fell apart in my hands - I felt like what my 2 year old child looks like when he eats baby-food; sloppy eating surface, ketchup/mustard dripping down my hands, had to lean way forward so toppings wouldn't get all over my pants, etc. Â Maybe I just ordered the burger wrong or something - I got bacon, ketchup, mustard, jalapenos & grilled onions. Â In hindsight maybe I should've just kept it simple (less toppings?) Â The fries are good but don't get more than one regular order for a family - the sack of fries is ginormous. Â The highlight of this trip, IMHO, had to be the bacon cheese dog. Â I got one to share but by the time the wife and kids were done with their burger, nobody wanted a bite. Â This dog was reeeeeally good!! Â They grill it and fix it up with plenty of cheese and bacon. Â I know people don't go to Five Guys for the hot-dogs but they really should. Â Ummm - what else?? Â Free in-the-shell peanuts - get some to eat up while you wait for your food (don't be shy). Â This has to be a nightmare for people with peanut allergies but too bad for them.
So that was the first day they opened and naturally they were busy. Â The few times I've been there since, they're still busy but at least they have free peanuts. Â I'm sure I should give the burgers another shot but what keeps me coming back is the bacon-cheese dog.
The time it took and the price I paid for a basic cheeseburger and fries was not worth the end product. The fries and burger were forgettable, as they have been during two previous visits. I don't get the appeal, and I don't think its worth coming back.
The peanuts were a nice touch, though; people with allergies beware.
When this first opened, I was like, OMG. Â But the more I eat there, the more I realize you are paying a lot ($12 a person for a fast food burger, fries and drink) and you can just feel your life shorten by the amount of calories and fat. Â Will take Sonic or In-and-Out burger any day over Five Guys

We were hungry, and looking for "new to us" burger. Â Hello Five Guys.
A crabby chick behind the counter took our order, we filled up our cups with pop, and waited 10 minutes. Â Another crabby person shouted out our number, and handed us a greasy bag o food. Â There were enough fries for about 4 people in a "small", and our burgers were hot n fresh, wrapped up in tin foil to protect it from aliens. Â
The burgers were as ugly as sin, but really tasty. Â The fries were good, but not the things dreams are made of. Â
For 20 bones, I am not running back at top speed, but I will be back if I feel like my arteries can handle it. Â
My husband wanted me to add his input: "I'd say it was a damn tasty burger."
WOW. Â New location, but damn good burgers and fries. Â The cheeseburgers are cheap, delicious, and melt in your mouth. Â Plenty of toppings including mushrooms and fresh tomatoes and a hearty serving of fries.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but it may give In-N-Out a run for their money.
This is not your average place to pick up healthy food and feel good about your diet! Â Try the Chipotle Mexican Grill next door for that. Â This place has peanut oil french fried potatoes with or with cajun spices. Â The limited menu offers cheeseburgers and more cheeseburgers. Â They have a nice grilled hot dog for the little kids. Â
Its time to get out of the healthy eating doldrums and strap on the feedbag. Â I LOVE those burgers and fries.
This is my 400th review and I've been waiting to write it, hoping something spectacular would come along for it. Â That dream has been shot down after waiting a while and I decided to write this mediocre review of a fairly average place.
A bare bones menu with just burgers, hot dogs and fries, I had the cheeseburger and it was pretty good. Â They have a good range of toppings to put on and peanuts out for you to eat for free and you can also cajun up your fries. Â
So why is it just okay? Â My cheeseburger (and that's all I ordered) seemed to take a while to make and it was $6. Â Yes $6 for nothing but a cheeseburger, when I've had burgers that are just as good for half the price, or twice as good for a dollar more. Â I was nowhere near full and ended up cooking some chicken nuggets at home after I ate the burger.
I probably wouldn't go back here to begin with, but might think to go back if nothing else were around, but that's the problem. Â There are other places around here. Â I'd be more likely to go to the Steak & Shake on the other side of the shopping center, the Chipotle next door, or get myself a $5 footlong across the street at Subway.

Burger = very flavorful. Â Lots of toppings to pick from, all included.
Fries = Husband had Cajun. I had plain. Â The Regular sized portion is very generous. Â Enough for two (unless you are a teenager). Â The Cajun Spices were not overwhelming. Â BUT, both of our fries were way
undercooked making them mushy, very mushy.
They were busy, we were in a hurry so the fries went in the trash. Â Hence, no idea how management would handle a complaint.
Split decision: Â My husband liked his burger enough to give Five Guys another try. Â For the price and result, I wouldn't.

I had it today for the first time but only as take out. Â I might have to go back and see about the service.
The burger was pretty good, I like that you get options with the toppings and they don't cost extra.
I can't say there was anything super special about the burger but it was very, very tasty. I would say it had a better taste than a McDonalds or even the local fave Photo's. Â However, there are so many dining options in this area that I don't know if it can develop a loyal following.
I got the regular fries but sampled the cajun from my husband, my taste preference was for the regular because the cajun had just too much spice. Â It was reminiscent of the spice they use at Red Robin.
All in all it was good food.
Mmmm great big burgers! This place has the best burgers and fries! Def. try the Cajun fries! They are soo yummy and seasoned! The burger may not cost as much as your Big Mac, but it's soo much better and worth it if you're starving! They make it right there so it's nice and hot when you get it! It's really tasty..you have to try it! (Especially if you like burgers!!) The place has free peanuts to munch on while your food is getting cooked lol..this is def. the hot burger spot!
Review Source:Since I tried Five Guys, I've come back four times in as many weeks for my burger fix. Â I've not tried this chain before and I'm very glad I now have.
Apart from delivering a consistently tasty burger each time, the staff here is super friendly and does a really good job at handling swarms of customers.
The free peanuts 'while you wait' are a nice bonus (if you're not allergic) and help pass the time between when you order and when you eat your delicious burger.
I live about 15 minutes away - and I do go here instead of some other places when I want a really good burger.
Five Guys is awesome!
I definitely like to be able to see my burger being made! I get to make little suggestions to the guy while he is making it. I am sure the, "a few more onions, please" comments get annoying for the employees, but it ensures that my burger comes out just the way I like it! High quality ingredients... yummy food.
I wish you could get a smaller order of fries. The copious amount of fries they give allows them to charge a lot for a regular order of fries, which sucks, because it makes going there cost at least $10 every time I go :/ BUT DON'T GET IT TWISTED! I WANT THE FRIES! THEY ARE YUMMMMMMMMMMY!
The chick that works at the register is kind of a buzz kill, but I will forgive Five Guys for that since their burgers are so awesome :)
I am now a fan of this place. The food isn't healthy, but it is very, very, very tasty. The cost for a meal is a little more than I would like to pay for a burger or hot dog meal; especially if the fries aren't included... But the fries are godlike and the cheeseburger and hot dog I tried were both worth coming back for more.
Someone posted some crazy comment that the fries are better at "Salernos on wolf". Puhleeeeze! Salerno's is an Italian eatery and is more overpriced than any other Italian place in the area.
Gorging on peanut while you wait was a nice treat.
Also, after eating at Five Guys, I will never even consider walking into Steak N Shake again... sorry...
I tried it for the first time last night.
Convenience. This is what most of my money went to. The fact that I didn't have to grill the patties and buy all the individual ingredients and assemble it. Â Don't get me wrong...the burger was delicious...but....it didn't really seem like anything unique or special. Â
It was cool that you could have as many different toppings as you wanted.
The BBQ sauce I asked for tasted very good...tasted like it had extra brown sugar.
Tried the Cajun Fries...its fresh cut fries loaded with what tastes like Famous Dave's pork chop dry-rub. Â (totally off topic FYI- that dry rub is great on hash browns). Â
I'd go here again but it's nothing I'd go too far outta my way for.

Burgers really are delicous and I was surprised to find there are TWO patties included AND all the toppings, including mushrooms, are FREE! Â Amazing!
Also, they give you a TON of fries. Â My husband and I each ordered a regular fry and we only finished maybe one serving. Â They just dump the fries in the bag with the burgers (wrapped in foil).
The place is pretty packed at lunch time but you can get your food to go and take it with you.
They have all the peanuts you could eat, as well. Â I usually like peanuts at steakhouses - but it didn't seem to go with this kind of place. Â I understand it is part of their "thing" though and folks who have been coming to them for a long time look to it as part of the tradition at Five Guys.
Having first tried Five Guys in NYC & DC, I knew what to expect. Bigger than it looks from the outside, the interior is bright and clean, catering to it's 50s-esque appeal, with oldies music being piped in. If you've never been, this is pretty much what all Five Guys I've ever been to look like. They also have big boxes of peanuts for you to munch on while you wait for your food to cook. Since it's cooked when you order, it's not the fastest place, so peanuts are good if you're hungry & can't wait.
For "fast" food, it's definitely toward the top with fresh tasting burgers. I like the fries, although next time I probably ask for them well done since I prefer crispier fries. (I checked; they're willing to do so - yay!) The difference between regular & little is 2 patties (reg) or 1 patty (little). Â Also, they have malt vinegar by the condiment station. Mm salt & vinegar on fries. The food is always served "to go" - meaning there are no trays and plates and such. Fries come in an overflowing styrofoam cup which will create a nice grease pattern on the brown paper bag your food is in. If you eat in, do what I do and snag one of the paper boats inside the peanut box & dump your fries into there. 1 paper boat holds 1 order regular fries pretty perfectly. Also makes it easier to sprinkle the malt vinegar on the fries. Yum.
Overall, the food & experience are same as I remember from the Five Guys I had in NYC/DC, and it's just a standard fast food joint. But what pushed them from a regular 3-star fast food joint to 4? Fountain Cherry Coke. I'm generally a Pepsi person but Cherry Coke is delicious. Not often found at most places, this upped the stars from 3 to 4. Yes, I'm that easily swayed.
In the end, this place is a bit expensive for burgers & fries (at least $10 for burger+fries+drink) but it's the place if you want a good burger & not just a fast meal. (And Cherry Coke!)
I've heard a lot about this place from friends who live in New York, etc. When I saw one had opened up nearby, I really wanted to give it a try. Â Yesterday, on my half-hour lunch break, I had a chance to go and sample their delicious food.
The food? I had a 'Kosher Style Hot Dog' (placed on the bun in halves) and an order of fries (I didn't have time to eat a lot!). YUM! The fries were the best part -- and they gave me so many!
However, it was a bit pricier than I expected and just way too damn LOUD in the restaurant! I couldn't hear the people behind the counters call out the order numbers and kept going up because I thought the guy was saying '56' (my order number) a lot. When I explained to him that I was hard of hearing, he remembered and instead of just calling out my number, waved to me -- which was nice. But otherwise, I'm not really a fan of loud places, especially if I'm going to be eating with someone else (I was alone). Hard to talk above the noise.
So, the food was good and I'll probably take my boyfriend here next time he's in the area, but it would be the kind of place I'd only go to every once in awhile. Something about it just rubbed me wrong (the loud noise, the price, or maybe it was all the signs boasting about how good the food is there).
In the land o' lowered expectations, where convenience conquers quality 5GnF landed just in time to add to more of the hohum.
The idea and concept is cute and kitschy, but so 2000 and late.
Burger King already let you have it your way, McDonalds already grilled up your meats and if you want really good handcut fries within a 3 minute ride, try Salernos on wolf.
A regular burger order is 2 patties with unlimited toppings as listed on the board, the key is not to get too greedy and do think balance and taste. The meat is not too seasoned, but with bacon and cheese worked nicely with some raw onions, grilled shrooms and some jalapeños.
The cajun seasoned fries(small) are thrown on top of your burger in a bag so you have to either dump them out on to your table, eat a pound of spuds first or go digging and end up with cajun fingers.
The place is brightly lit, clean, free nuts in the shell which are propped up in boxes on top of the garbage receptacles, unlimited refills(nice) and smiley people behind the counter.
Can it hold its own against steak and shake on the opposite side of the mall?
time will tell, but they are two different beasts doing pretty much the same dance and still should help bring back business to an area much in need.
