Salerno's Catering

First,  great service, they really followed up and helped me with Mother's Day meal for 15 people.
The food was delivered on time and hot, We ordered the following pans of food,
1. Chicken Vesuvio
2. Peppers & Sausage
3. Pork ribs
4. Pasta
5.  Salad
6. A large variety of deserts
All the food was great, I mean everything!

The last time I dined was in early 2007 and at the time I would dine there quite often and still I wasn't a fan.  The other day I was looking over older reviews I'd written and wondering about changes since.  With this in mind I decided that sometime very soon I would revisit Salerno's.  

So the other night I had some business which took me out to the far NW burbs and on my return I decided to stop in for a bite.  It was a Sunday night and the place was packed with families leaving only two tables available next to the entrance.  Not my favorite types of seats being their proximity so close to the door.  Service was great, multiple runners and waitstaff available to take orders and answer questions.  In a timely manner refills were poured and by the time the food hit the table and I had some time to start enjoying my meal a more experienced waitress came over and inquired about my feelings about my food and to see if she could get anything extra for me.  

This time around I ordered the Tetrazini arrabiata and requested it be prepared extra spicy.  Think juicy, sweet plum tomatoes in a spicy sauce with succulent morsels of white meat chicken.  E 'stato magnifico!  The cost didn't break the bank and the entree was served with different styles of baked breads.  I had about a half portion left over and they offered to package it with the rest of the bread.  Even gave me instructions on how to warm the bread so that it came out puffy.  One thing to note; if lactose is a problem one should definitely ask for an ingredient list.

This is a gem of Mount Prospect.  A family owned and family visited eatery which does well (even though) located in a strip mall.

Delicious, real Italian food with an attentive wait staff BUT the restaurant atmosphere is not the best... Crowded tables, no wait area, and a busy carry-out service do not make for a relaxing meal.

Meatballs are excellent, all of our portions were huge and the bread is like crack- you can not stop eating it!

Have ordered catering and their lemon chicken was delicious!
